Id just like to hear the goods and bads of using promix. My friend just started using it and seems like he’s getting magnesium deficiencies rather quickly once he flips the lights to 12/12. Yellowing fan leaves within the first 3 weeks of flowering. Ph is always checked so I don’t think that’s his issue. He’s supplementing with calmag but I told him he wasn’t using enough of it. Any ideas?

Given the many promix products. It would help to know what exactly is being used. I am guessing one of the ready use promix products is what you are talking about . But not sure
Cheers :)

Any possibility you could post a pic so I could show him what they should look like in promix? I’m in nys and not currently growing and he’s in a legal state. Like week 5 or up in flowering

He’s using promix with no nutrients. I think maybe just a little lime, some added perlite and that’s about it. He’s using fox farm grow big in veg and grow big, tiger and big bloom in flowering. Keeps using grow big at least 2-3 weeks into flowering then slowly starts adding bloomers. I grew with this exact same recipe for 15 years but with the calmag and never had a problem. He might just have to hear it from a outside source lol stubborn but my life long best friend otherwise I’d tell him he’s on his own

one thing ive noticed is to stop feeding calcium in flowering and if you want to supplement magnesium, you can use epsom salt... but for your friend... he should just use plain water for one watering..or a light feed.. then for the rest of the grow feed however.

Hmmmmm he seems to be experiencing somewhat of the same issue. Unfortunately he’s probably not gonna immediately switch up so if I could pick your brain for a sec it would be greatly appreciated lol

First question
Do you feed with nutrients every watering and how often do you have to water/feed?

That depends on the strain. I have a Goji that will take nutes every other watering and I have a Glueberry OG that wants nutes every damn time. You have to know what your leaves are telling you. There is no other way to have an exact timing.

He’s actually doing a sunshine daydream which has 3 different phenos, all seem to be pretty hungry.

Next question lol

When watering, did you water enough to get run off or just enough to feed them? In his case he doesn’t use enough where he gets run off

During veg I give just the right amount Protekt and Foliage Pro to not need any. In flower I use about a teaspoon of PH Up in 3 gallons of (filtered) water. I use a mix of Protekt, Foliage Pro and Bloom in flower.
