I have been very tempted to make the switch over to sunshine coco blend, for the simple reason it is stored indoors year-round in a retail area. The added cost is worth ridding myself of the unwanted guests and pests due to combination of manufacturing quality control, poor shipping methods, and mishandling by warehouse employees at home supply centers.
Plus the grow store backs their products, whereas returning a bale of peat to HD after it has infected an entire greenhouse is a complete waste of time.
i have yet to try the coco blend myself. this summer i will use mostly sunshine #4. when searching for a decent place to buy stay away from grow stores for ganja growers they charge to much especially if you need a dozen or so blocks. at my grow/hydro store the want almost double compared to a local greenhouse (mom and pop place) $40+at the grow store and i pay $23 for the same 3.8 cu ft compressed bales just a short drive into the country and also buy really nice compost there as well.
