Probably not...It's hard to find in the states. But also super easy to make. I just tried for the first time last night and it's pretty hard to fuck up. Here's what you need:
1. Mozzarella cheese (curds are better for shredded is okay too)
2. French fries (frozen or fresh, whatever)
3. Brown gravy

All you need to do is shallow fry the french fries in a pan, then put them into a bowl and put gravy and cheese on top. ta-da.

You have now had a real live Canadian (TM) teach you how to make poutine.
Oh.

I thought it was butter and syrup  :dunce:

Deep-fry THIS. cn

(I was looking for aerosol gravy for nappynate ... nobody makes it! :( With some of this, it would make a McVenture into an Instant Poutine Run! cn

I'll just stick to what I know. I just made a fresh batch of guacamole. :D
Never get it store bought, and I almost want to say don't get it from restaurants...But I won't say that ;)

I worked at an Avocado place, and what people buy to make Guacamole, isn't the same as the Avocados in the store.

All day at the factory...they had about 15 women working to make sure that no "bad" avocados got put in the store ones...
We did the good avocados first the Mexicans called these "Primas"
The bad ones were thrown in boxes, and sorted into large crates, just like the "Primas", but since they went through a second time, we had to wait till the end of the day to do them, so they were called "Seguntas" meaning, "Seconds"...

Now these were any avocados that when sorted through was "ripe" enough for your finger to slip through, or any avocado that had been bitten on by a rat. Literally you could see the teeth marks, where the rat used its teeth like a tiny potato peeler.

And the Seguntas are what people buy from the warehouse to make their Guacamole...

Christ. America.

now i don't see why every place that offers fries doesn't have an option to go poutine!

you are now truly in the Canadian State of Mind.

Hahaha, actually pretty much every time I go to McDs (Which is rarely) I think to myself 'Now these fries would be amazing in a poutine'. Try it dude!
You are in Ontario so there should be a poutine option just ask. they have it in Ottawa and in Quebec.
Its really good !

Poutine is not a Canadian tradition but a french Quebec tradition. I don't know many place outside of quebec that sell poutine probably only in ontario & new brunswick. The poutine in the main picture is from a crappy express diner the cheapest possible. There is over 100 types of poutines like they make pizza. Example a "galvaude" is with extra chicken + peas + coleslaw (my favorite). You can even pour a tomato pasta sauce to make it italian (very popular). But the more classical way is just to dump your bites in ketchup.

What American do you know eating straight up butter?

The female population starves themselves, and the male population is eating meat...Or dick (If they're vegan and stuff)

Butter hasn't been popular in America since people stopped cooking pies at home :dunce:

Ha, probably because over there it's staple enough for restaurants to sell, over here you get it from the greek fellow in the kabab shop and the cheese is full of potato starch, you'll even find that a lot of place will use cheese substitute as cheddar which is 50% cheddar, 50% substitute, which is made of veg oil etc :D
