this my 1st foray into 100% organic this summer , sold sold sold did I say sold on it !
the bugs were a pia but not as bad as on just G/H nutes Nova, terpinator, rock resinator, koolbloom like my 1st summer gro when I listened to the gro master @ the Hydro-store my wallet wuz emty that summer & the mites eat 3/4 of the crop
(the bud i did gro those years was fire that combo will produce Fire with great genes , my indoor on the G/H combo was the best till now weed i've smoked . Till Now lol Organic Tastes Soo much better
now a few yrs later after slowly progressing toward full "O"
i say all that because I'm not sold on the supersoil either , i've been a g/h freak for my life long passion
& have grown orchids from seed , grown african succulents & even bloom the famed corpse plants , I have a active aloe & gasteria breeding program now that i'm disabled & want off the hard meds i grow
my g/h was build for Orchids heat, cool, moisture all controlled

now back to subject it's the peat I do not like at all in the 'supersoils'
I use peat moss because it's cheap and plentiful in my area, but my method outlined in the thread is set up to be easily customized. You could use Coco coir or broken down pine bark, whatever is local and cheap has my recommendation.

The Earth here is black and Ive read in a few places that people associate black soils with depleted soils. Thats another generalization that couldnt be further from the truth. Next door in Cambodia the soil is red in alot of places, but its due to the whole area (region) being on an alluvial plain through time ( Mekong delta). The soil is extremely fertile

Oh No wasn't knocking your list at all & I noted that easy sub of other materials & agree ,
I was referring to the famous ' supersoil ' as the peat in that mix
just that peat has been pia when the mix goes bad in My grows & in my experience But that's just me
many people use peat just fine So no nutz are crushed with the peat ppl here !
my preference is not peat :peace:

What's all the specs of your room Rasta? @lights, air, strains, etc . That's awesome bro.

ll the doe
3 1000w hid, open hoods
I run co2 at 1000ppm in veg, 1500ppm in flower
An inline fan hooked up to a carbon filter pulls out air when the lights go off
I run a 3000 btu window a/c that's fitted into a custom made box that takes the hot air from the back via an inline fan, and has ductwork that brings in air for the AC passively.
A fan on each end (four oscillating fans) and two box fans on opposite diagonal ends to blow that heavy falling co2 back up in the air for the plants.

This is my winter smoke supply so it's my indica leaning cross strains that I like to medicate with while I'm stuck inside all winter. Mostly an even split of headband 818 and blue cheese. Then there's a handful of skunk 47 (they're the shorter ones in the room), and one lonely LA pure kush. She's my favorite strain to show off in the smoker's circle.

Gets me feeling like this...

Awesome man. Does CO2 really make a big difference ?
If you're just buying some of those exhale bags and hanging from the ceiling then no probably not.

If you're using a tank with a regulator, and a ppm reader with a sealed up room then fuck yes.

No fertilizer, bloom booster, or additive nonsense will up your yield the way co2 will. You can run higher temps with co2 (you kinda need to). I run my room right around 81 degrees Fahrenheit but you could max out at 86 degrees and still be fine.

No need to run an intake fan since the co2 is your plants air (running one will also dilute your co2 concentration). You just need to run an out take fan when your lights switch off to take out the stale air.

how many times per day do you exhange the stale air in your box,,, once per day?,,, for a few mintues?

I only pull out the stale air when the lights go off and the co2 stops pumping. Otherwise I'd be pumping co2 in just to pull it out.

Now if you weren't running co2...I would exhaust the stale air every four hours and intake in fresh air.

You can buy a tank but I recommend just paying the deposit on one from a local grow store. If you don't have a local grow store...you still have an air gas supplier somewhere nearby if you live in a town with bars, restaurants, or fountain sodas. You can rent it from them too. If you need to be discreet about why you're renting it. Tell them you use it to run your welding equipment. You're a hobbyist ;)

applied at 1/2 cup per cubic feet (that's about 7 gallons) to virgin soil. These are mixed directly into the soil.

Fish Meal (9-4-0)
Nitrogen, phosphorus, along with amino acids, hormones.

Crab Shell Meal (4-3-0)
N, P, calcium, magnesium, pH buffer, chitin

Oyster Shell Flour
Calcium, pH buffer

Kelp meal (0-0-1) or (1-0-2)
Potassium, trace minerals
Hey Bud,, do you ad 1/2 of each of these per cubic feet,,, for a total of 1.5 cups,, or do you mix these together then then just put 1/2 cup per cubic?,,,
also,, can marine cuisine be substituted?,,,
