I've been spared that experience, but my plant did freeze hard last year
I took this pic after thawing it out a bit with a propane heater- when I got up in the morning it was frozen

Since rain can come through unpredictably and often sporadically, I've had to put plastic up and leave it up straight through the final weeks, so I've wondered the same thing. I also have to use bug netting where I live, or I'll lose about half my crop to worms. Both cut light by percentages, I've read varying reports, but mostly from 20-30% depending on the material. Using standard Home Depot "clear" 3mil plastic that you get in the paint department, cuts the light enough that you can see the difference. This year I ordered some heavier gauge clear vinyl, hopefully I'll lose less light, my plants only get 6-7 hours of direct sunlight per day so I want them to have all of it.How much of the suns rays get through clear plastic? I’ll be getting panels this year finally. Took measurements today and I’ll finally have a real roof. I’ve been using reinforces construction sheeting for 4 years and if I’m losing anything I’d never know it. For me it’s about overall preservation of the entire crop rather than getting hung up on what I could be losing.How much of the suns rays get through clear plastic? Probably all of them is my guess. Saving the crop is 100% the top priority. This is probably the third 'structure' I've built to cover my girls, I'm always trying to improve it. Whether you went for the rigid or the corrugated single wall, those panels should last you for years. I hope you'll share some pictures when they're up.

OK, I'll bite... what kind of panels? Are you talking polycarbonate? Definitely gonna want to see pics.

I used those on a structure, I think they're awesome, but definitely check the specs, they don't install at 24" O.C. - at least the Sunlite ones I got at Home Depot. They say they're 24", but the pieces that connect them and then tie in to the rafters add spacing, I think I had to place my rafters at something like 25.5" O.C. apart... but my memory sucks. Just something to double check before you start.

They say the polycarbonate panels are optically transparent. That might be the truth, or a misleader. It doesnt necessarily mean 100% of sun rays pass through it unhindered.
I have panels in mind, unsure of the make up. But there corrugated and come in pre determined dimensions in sheet form. Ideally I would hinge them on nice sunny days. then flip em closed at dark. Or keep it even simpler, secure them with elastic band that snaps off and on
Dew in the cooler night months is a bitch too. Buds get waterlogged all night over night.
I'll have plenty of structure. I just need to choose some things for the roof section. In the heavy season when it rains. Enclosures must be worth there weight in gold.
A farmer would be happy to have a greenhouse someday lol

Wanted to get the nice double wall stuff, but it’s been backordered. Just using single ply corrugated panels, I work in sheet metal by trade, so I have all of the flashing bent up to complete the whole thing. If I can swing it, I’ll enclose the whole thing but that means fans, louvers, controls. I really just need a roof.

When ready, I think it would be safe to transplant 4 max, in each section.
Today is about finding a decent blend of soil. \
My nephew borrowed my garden for two grows, and didn;t bother adding any annual shit, none at all. Kids these days lol.
It was as dusty it looked like a parched desert.
Notice the spike. I accidentally crushed that dude with a metal grate. Hm, it looks no worse for wear.
I got the strain from British Columbia Can. There are nice breeders out in the west on both sides of the border. I'm buying seeds from Cali for next batch.
