Obama asks Congress to go to war.

Nice way to avoid the point. Obama is headed for failure, if you think we can just bomb the shit out of them for a week or two and then walk the fuck away as the country is in shambles you're more ignorant than I thought.
So basically the same thing Bush thought about Afghanistan and Iraq?

bush left office with a 25-30% approval rating. obama is still around 45-50% (some good all those manufactured non-scandals did, eh?).

do tell us more about your love for the guy though.
Nice play on words but this isn't 2008. Bush is more viewed more favorably than Obama. Americans also believe Obama is more incompetent and dishonest than Bush. Isn't that right Bucky boy?

no, wrong.

bush thought you could invade the living shit out of a country for no reason to look for WMDs that he didn't wait for the inspectors to find all without an exit plan.

when it all went wrong, he could shift the justification for war to other things and leave office with a 25% approval rating.

bush's exit strategy for iraq was to exit office in disgrace and let someone more competent take care of it.

that's basically the same as obama's approval rating given MOE.

you're not so smart, but that surprises no one.

Isn't he wanted for war crimes? The American opinion only matters to Americans. If the rest of the world hates you then you are walking the road of the Roman Empire.

invasion? bush didn't go to congress?
An authorization by Congress was sought by President George W. Bush soon after his September 12, 2002, statement before the U.N. General Assembly asking for quick action by the Security Council in enforcing the resolutions against Iraq.[SUP][4][/SUP][SUP][5][/SUP]

The Iraq Resolution or the Iraq War Resolution (formally the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002,[SUP][1][/SUP] Pub.L. 107–243, 116 Stat. 1498, enacted October 16, 2002,H.J.Res. 114) is a joint resolution passed by the United States Congress in October 2002 as Public Law No: 107-243, authorizing military action against Iraq.

I haven't read the rest of this thread, and I confess I don't have the time to do so, but how silly of Obama--he betrayed his best instincts--to intervene in Syria rather than having future pundits refer to it as "Obama's Rwanda"--in order to claim that he didn't have his finger on the trigger.

The question, of course, is whether Obama, in his 70s and 80s--decades from now--will be haunted by the generations of Syrians who were extinguished by his inaction.

Way over the top
1 Rwanda was over in about 10 days. We could barely get a carrier that fast and then what would a floating island do?
2 Unlike Rwanda, Syria is a civil war the rebels took up arms against it's own goverment. In Rwanda the populace was encouraged by the goverment to kill one of its tribes

1) Bullshit. That's why Clinton regrets it--a few orders could have saved millions of lives, now inevitably silenced. I eat dinner every night knowing how guilty he must feel about his inaction.

2) in Syria, the majority was encouraged to take up arms against a minority. In Rwanda, the minority--by their Belgian overlords--were encouraged to stand up against an ethnic minority. Fuck them.

Yeah, thanks for your glowing recollection of history, of which you apparently know nothing.

Me, I think any native people are entitled to their native life, whether they're Southern, Laotian, Korean, or anything else.

Congress passed a resolution in 2002 giving military intervention the okay to find WMD.. You don't remember that buck? I was only in 3 rd grade at the time but insure remember the outrage and talks of impeachment after we invade Iraq and found nothing. The only reason congress went through with the resolution is because Bush either lied about his "intelligence of WMD's" or he had a horrible horrible intelligence gathering team lol. And your right, we aren't going to invade Syria, we are just going to bomb their government infrastructure and support rebel troops..

Nobody is making oregon look bad buck, plus I thought you lived in Vancouver lol
Congress went along with Bush for many reasons including:
-to go against the Prez after 9/11 you would be labeled a jihad lover
-Bush said he would only go if it was the last Option (he immideiatly kicked out the inspectors and mobilized)
-Bush/Cheney LIED
-Stupid population thought Iraq and Bin Laden were the same thing. And this was helped along with Bush in every speech Using Iraq and Bin Laden in same paragraph in every speech he made

No doubt the population is checked out and easily manipulated. That is the main problem and the main Grace at the same time.

It makes us randomly un-predictatble in the Press view tactics.

Of course, Bush went to Congress. Congress funds this. And they use in Marker for their Game.

It is three Branch and three adversarial Games.

Now, think about this. Why have they shown such an unconcern about the IRS, NSA, Bengay? All the fails of the Admin?

They have been cooking this little war. Notice the timing. You don't think Issa knew they would pull something like this? They were going to make sure there was no investigations at 9/11.

Bonner certainly did know. He has been blocking the Select Committees. Would that not look foolish, with a War on?

He will vote his nemesis on domestic policy off the Leash for Intervention. And now he has the unenviable job to make that look like a failure if it is a success.

If he does not, then he risks the the President showing actual raw power and ignoring Congress. No good.

Better to give permission.

Did you forget the medias role as the tacit partner pushing the bullshit stories to the American people? Nothing could've been done without the complicity of the MSM and its willingness to publicly crucify anyone who didn't goosestep along... Sedition anyone?

We hold back on actual sedition. That is our Ace in the hole and that is well known. We have a shadow militia govt in every State.

Of course, they can't shit without the Klan knowing and the Klan is riddled with FBI.

Yeah they dropped the ball on this one.

i think he should be acting right about now, but him deciding to go to congress is a shrewd move.

first, you get to watch your GOP saviors trap themselves in a vote that will be held against them in 2016. second, when we decide to bomb the living shit out of them is fairly inconsequential.*

let them sweat in the meantime, let the GOP trap themselves in a vote, then bomb the crap out of assad's facilities.

but you are too insufferably angry to see any of this.
Well you agreed with me after all...his move WAS shrewd...he was thinking of his legacy instead of his responsibility...if Lincoln had done the same, blacks might still be enslaved...
