Well here we go...Im only experimenting with one lone survivor (out of 4 sprouts). Ill see how this goes and run with it.

3 weeks (with me anyway)

Specs: I am using an 8' x 8' x 8' storage room with about 4.5' x 4.5' of "plantable" space (that is with an access path incl). It used to be the laundry area and has easy access to 220 power (which I think I will be able to use to my advantage). great air circulation and awesome insulation (needed up here). As for lighting I am currentlu using two single tube fixtures (OTT Light OTL2012 tubes [24" T12 full spectrum / plant growth]) angled to get the most bang for the buck. I had been keeping her at about 3" from the light source. She obviusly liked the o.k. light and grew alittle too close a little too fast, < 2". Those yellow tips on the two newest fans look like burning (I hope). So I dropped her .75" yesterday morning and the newest set looks healthy. I'm adding another pic that will show (obviously) where in her life I got her (I had to rescue them from a friend that was abusing the little green babies..look at the stem...she might get tippy). So there ya go..oh as far as suppliments or "nutes", I'm using an organic orchid mix. My Ma lives in the FL Keys and whips up a little extra for me from time to time...gotta love fish juice. Thanx again ..any help is greatly appreciated.:peace:

you can go closer with flouro tubes.
Thats what I thought too....but I did not want to hear it...well yellowing and browning of the tips..hmmm It is a plant after all Im thinkin Ill just be absolutely sure Im not over watering (my 18 yr old son seems to believe that he does not have to ask before messin with her) and I'll just "let her be". Thanx for the input...Ill get her back to huggin the light right now.
Here are this A.M's pics..hope she survives long enough for them to get interesting. Peace to all.

Damn that room is gett'n to smell really nice....Same plant in "Bat Country". Oh yeah ....lol. Heres the Setup as is right now. The halogen is for warming the soil periodically at key parts of the cycle (and yup I know this can cause fungal issues but Ive "got sumtin fer dat"). Thanks for checking in and please feel free to comment, advise and or critique. Keep it green peopleseses.:peace:

Its kindof a combo of factors..first off, I just like to make the little girl feel like she is in a natural setting (sun heats ground so I give her a little foot heat in middle of the day) she seems to like it. And you nailed the second factor..I have an 18 yr old son that thinks he knows every thing so he over waters when I'm out of the U.S. thusly I kinof have to speed up evap sometimes...No fungus among us.
As for flowering ...Im going to get some sort of HID. Not sure what yet tho, still researching. Feed is going to remain the same throughout her life. It's a slurry of marine life and other stuff my Mater makes for her orchids. She used to grow back in the day and is really helping me with the N0 to the O2 and all the other little tweaks...Given her room never smelt like this tho...stupid 70s. Thanks for the comment and keep em comin..Stay green.:peace:

Well here we are on day four of my RIU membership and day three of this journal. Thanx to comments from some of you the "Nurple" looked happier this A.M. than ever before. Thank you, thank you, thank you....Heres are the pics from this morn and "Heres a little story I have to tell..." about one little plant that I know so well. It started way back in history just me and my plant the "Nur-pul-ee"...Damn Im a dork...heres what freaky thing happened yesterday eve.
3:00pm- One of my dogs starts pukin all over the house (projectile).
3:30pm- Still pukin (baaaad) just bile by then
3:45pm- Get to ER at the vet
4:30pm- Vet returns after taking samples into lab and tells me that my that my dog tested positive for Coumarin..(rat poison). Foot note: I use only live traps if I have to (twice in 20 yrs)..Not a dirty person.
5:30pm- Vet gets my dog fixed up (charcoal, blood thickening agents and antiemetics) and we go home.
6:00pm- Let my other dog into the back yard and watch her for a bit...she goes directly to the far corner by the fence and starts pawing at something...Jar of peanut butter with all these green pellet mixed in...SON OF A BITCH!!!!!.....Oh I was pissed..Knee jerk reaction was..Grab phone and call animal control and they would have contacted sheriff etc...Oh shit thats right (stop dialing) I've got a big no no in my house now and it kinda smells funny (or really yummy).
6:30pm- Dog "A" seems fine so I grabbed the jar and headed out into the neighborhood to see if I could get info.
6:45pm- Long story short(er)...found out my immediate neighbor had the jar fixed to the side of his garage in order to kill a squirrel that kept getting into his engine compartments...

That was a dilemma...Thanx for reading people..Heres thi pics for 12.12.08.

Keep Green.:leaf:

Plant is looking good, very lush coloring.

Hope your dog is ok!
Tell your neighbor to put nail his peanut butter to a tree.
Or duct tape it or some shit.

The old farts lucky I did'nt nail his skull to a tree... Violence is Never the Answer :fire:

A) It's illegal here to kill any wildlife w/o permit
B) If he really wants it done humanely, I've got a high power competition air rifle w/ a scope thats good within 2" @ 25 meters if he wanted to borrow it. He should have let me know he was having issues anyway.

Dog is o.k. thanx for the pos. energies.:peace:
