nothing too exciting to report other than the shock of sugar cane growing taller than all the other plants lol. oh hlg did eventually sort things out but not without me having to follow up with them a second time. i suspect an unknown third party that sells lights in canada that "should be" helping with warranty claims on behalf of hlg isnt doing what they should be doing? not sure didnt ask for details. however the whole experience was a bit odd. hlg says they'll swap the light. hlg contacts there canadian retailer. canadian retailer says they have one and they will ship it out and send tracking to hlg. Canadian retailer never ships light, doesnt give tracking info to hlg. hlg then forgets about me? not sure. i follow up weeks later after never receiving a light or tracking. hlg follows up with third party retailer for the second time. i assume doesnt hear anything good? then decided to ship it themselves instead of bothering with their own canadian retailer. how bizarre must have been a shit show in the background. anybody know how to swap custom cut cords on hlg lights? lol

Well I'm glad to hear they got it taken care of and yeah I'm almost betting unsaid retailer's going to get punted because of that - or we would hope so.
Stephen probably doesn't like having to babysit people to do the right thing and he probably was involved and ticked off too.

well an update on my 6 week saga of dealing with hlgs warranty department and the third party retailer high par lights. so my replacement light arrived and by replacement i say that loosely. it didnt arrive with the same dimmer i had so i thought to myself ah its only three wires i could just pop that off and swap the dimmers. it also didnt come with the same cord either i also have a 20 foot length cord on 240v they sent 120v so again i thought ah whats another three wires so i started looking more closely at this light they sent me and is it ever in rough shape for a refurbished light i started looking at it and it looks like it has more hours on it than my current light you know what lets plug it in and test the boards out before swapping parts on these lights and what do you know one of the boards on the replacement has the exact same problem my current light has. at this point i was thinking maby i should phone the third party seller that im suppose to deal with since i ship the return to them (the one hlg didnt hear from for three weeks) i ended up getting his number in an email a couple days ago. i phoned him directly he didnt pickup, sent him a txt (since its an iphone imessage) again no response (not surprised thanks brian). im so fucken done with hlg this has been a total waste of time why have a warranty at all.

honestly the best phenos ive seen so far were all very tall plants with lots of stretch they also grew flowers that were like hard rocks with an absurd amount of resin. i saw one pheno where the flowers looked almost yellow they were so caked youll know it when you see it. theres lots of possible phenos id suggest cloning every plant i had one get away lol

What a pain...
Since you have both lights I'd just SIT ON THEM.
That's a crock that the "dealer" seems to be quite the weasel. If you keep both the sellers going to get dragged into it and HLG has to do SOMETHING else rather than trust an UNTRUSTWORTHY weasel to take care of it...
I'm a bit more persistent and probably wouldn't have waited as long to drop a CS bomb for getting my stuff taken care of, but I also understand NOT having to deal with incompetent people!

nah ive made my decision, hlg sent me a light not the third party they want me to mail mine to. the light was obviously previously returned without testing the boards. i can tell the thing was dropped previously since the mdf that the panel is made of is damaged on one corner and they painted over it to hide it lol. i decided to take the nuclear option. i cancelled my visa so theres nothing to bill, i have a new visa now that they dont have the ability to bill because they dont have the number so theres nothing to charge. now that i know they dont honour the warranty in any normal sense of the word. like i would have even accepted one brand new board and a handful of the appropriate sized rivets and i would have swapped it myself. instead im going to just hold the light hostage and not ship fuck all. they can get ahold of me they have my number and my email. until then ill just strip the third light for parts whenever i need it. when its empty ill use the mdf as a template to build a new one and ill just get boards off cobkits instead. im confident i can make an exact copy of these lights i can likely also machine those plastic covers im amazing in a shop. i dont have any use for hlg anymore.

ive finally noticed a difference in the sugar cane plants it would appear the flowers form differently on each plant. one plant the flowers are round and bulbous. well the other the flowers are more conical like a carrot.

grows going not to bad had to tie some plants up today there getting heavy enough to fall over. pkb7 the more finicky of all the plants is showing some deficiencies but i think im going to let it ride i dont want to increase the feed higher than the suggested max i dont want to burn them either. its looking like a decent run overall.

dealing with some heat its been unseasonably warm the past day im not going to fire up the a/c for just a couple days its likely covered in ice so im thinking were just going to tough it out flowers are looking nice. pkb#7 is yellowing a bit early as usual.
