New house, New room layout idea's

Alright, in less than a month it will be time for me to be moving my grow out of my current garage loft hotbox and into my new garage. That's right, no more climbing an extension ladder to get to my girls. :hump:

We purchased another house in an upscale location (compared to this farming hell hole) that has the perfect location for my room. The new house has a 7 car garage that is well insulated and heated in the winter.

What I am saying is that I have a blank canvas to start with and would love opinions on how to lay it out for the best room setup! Take into consideration that I hold a medical card and live in a recreational state! :bigjoint: so it does not have to be hidden!

I will be starting off using the equipment that I have.

2-600 watt ballast's
2 cool tubes
1-430 cfm 6" fan
1-240 cfm 6" fan
6" carbon filter
10-4 foot florescent fixtures full-0-lights (3 spectrum's) for veg
the usual pots and grow bags

I want a multi-room setup that is contained within a room. Or something maybe with a large hallway in front of two rooms. Or just a room (flower) inside a larger room. It will have a sink and running water (cold only).
I have thought about two flower rooms on a flip-flop to help with the heat but I love running both 6hunids in one room.

I would love to hear everyone's opinions on how and why to set it up!

:peace:

have you considered grow tents? they would work well for having seperate rooms and you could run a veg/clone/mother tent with the flouro and then rig up both 600's in a nice 4x8 tent

amazon has some reasonable tents too for reasonable price.

i bought the cheapest 32x32 tent they had for like 74 bucks and have been using it over 4 years now.

I have not even thought about a tent! I want to build something that is permanent! It needs to look like just another room from the outside since it will be in the garage/shop.
My wife scored a large wall A/C from her work for me! That should keep it cool during the summer months. I have a lot of room to work with and would like layout ideas thrown at me! :bigjoint:

so build a room to house the tents hahah....

on a serious note just section off some of the garage and put up walls and sheetrock on outside and poly film on inside (poly is cheaper than sheetrocking and paining both sides.

use 2x3 studs to cud down on bulk of walls and just build 5x8 rooms one for flower one for veg mum and clones.

i know your thinking permanent now but 10 years down the road those rooms might seem like a bad idea when you have to do crazy demolision so if you do build i would suggest semi permanant so you can take it down if you ever want to.

if he has the cash to do it

he could build his area .......use IR blocker in the walls to hide the room.......use child magnetic locks to hold a piece of drywall on the wall as the door ( it has no handles or anything u use a magnet to release it allowing u to drop it off the fram and slide it over to enter

inside use the tent system so if wants too can add Co2

the only issuse he has left to worry about is air flow /ejection points and controlling the temps

the reason i say do like this is 1 a warrent allows the cops to look in any room they want ......but for them to break a wall down requires anouther warrent with alot more proof before they can get it since they are on the hook for repairing it (they only have so much money to spend and they have to repair it no mater if they find something or not.........so most judges and d.as require alot of proof that something is going on )

so if u have access only u can get in with out a door (entry way)..........it makes it harder on them ............plus if u have kids teens or snoopy ppl they will always want to know what is in the room they can not go in but if it is a sealed up wall .........just tell them not sure way u got the place and not busting it down just to look unl;ess they want to pay for the repairs (that shuts them up)

Some great ideas here!! :bigjoint:

For one, I will be using 2x4 studs and drywall. Fully insulated and it will have a double door setup. An outer door with a locking knob that looks like any other door on a storage room and an inner door with a dead bolt and locking knob. The inner door is where my paperwork will be displayed per Washington State medical Marijuana Code. Here is a rough idea of what I have come up with so far! Ventilation will be through the attic and out of the roof using the appropriate roof jacks. I will pull air from outside the same way and there will be a filter box to stop bugs and what not. I will be painting the walls and ceiling with flat white paint that has extra titanium pigment added.
What do the masses say about how to set up the veg/drying area? The flower room is obvious, fans, lights, plants!!

I haven't pulled a tape yet to see how big the area is but I would guess 12'x20' or so. I think I will hinge the black door the other way so I have direct access to the back yard and greenhouse! New room setup.png

I used to build houses back in the day. More recently I re-modeled and maintained homes. It will be built to code, and nothing is permanent!!

u seem to have a solid idea as to what to do. the veg room can be setup with just one light if you want to cut down on electricity usage. they dont need a ton of light for veg, a 600w could do you nicely for your vegging plants, mum and clones.

Oh, I'll be back flipping homes in no time. Lol
It's all about adding on square footage where I live in CA. I'm sorta just relaxing a bit until I get busy on this house i'm in rite now. And than let the demo of my garage :-( begin, and let the flipping start!
But yeah 2X4's make most sense(no offense anyone), just for insulation, and to be able to use cheap prehung metal entry doors from the box store.

Yup, I use 2-600's for veg(mh conversion bulbs), along with one t5(8 bulb)fixture. A couple 4 ft. t12's for clones. That is enough to keep 8- 1000w of lights busy. 4 lights at a time. I dry in a spare bedroom

i only mentioned 2x3 because they are sturdy and much cheaper. i wasnt sure how far he wanted to go with his project but i built my room out of 2x4 ( 4x6 inside) and it was just really bulky for the amount of room i had and i only panda filmed the outside of it, nvm sheetrock on both sides. but if your looking to go the whole 9 then yeah i do agree on 2x4 as well

But I do have tents at other spots. they sure do make sense sometimes
Whatever's clever rite?

before u stud it out and lay stuff

can i say grab some tape and test it ...............lay the outline down then u can use the gear u have or make a tape outline ...............it sucks to build it and find out room to move/work is tight

if u are legal like that ...................when u build the room poly wrap the inner walls and u can install a Co2 outside the room really pump up the buds .......u can use PVC pipes tho the walls to feed in lines/senors just drill a end cap and pass it tho little silcon to seal the hole and u are golden

with the tank outside like that u can change it over and get filled
