I am a Prop 215 patient and I am within standards and ordinances of my county. Recently my garden was robbed, just so happens one of my neighbors got a photo of the car and license plate of the thief. I didnt call the police or anything. He is the kicker, after a few weeks go by I was cruising around and ran into my thief (the car and license plate matched the thief's car and license plate). So now I know exactly who my thief is and I even have a full name of the thief. Should I go to the police, can I go to the police? I do have photos of the thief's car parked by my house.

I know the first thing that comes to everyones mind is why dont I just fuck the thief up and beat their ass! Well I dont want to go to jail and a life isnt worth a plant.

Any help on this would be grateful. I did try to call a lawyer from the NORML site but to me it seemed he wanted to be paid before answering any of my questions.

Thanks for taking time to read this!

Peace

Do NOT attempt to approach this individual! It is well within your rights to report this to police with any evidence you may have and to file criminal charges if they can be substantiated..problem is you waited and never reported it when it initially happened, so they are immediately going to be critical of you. You need to bring what proof you have and need to go down to the police station and see what they can do.

Out of curiosity, do you know the thief? Had you shown him your grow previously?

At the time and day of the theft, I did not know who they were. It wasnt till this past sunday I found the car with the license plate in a friends driveway. The thief and I never met before or talked at all.

So the theif is friends with your friends !
Witch means your friends told him about your grow
Don't trust anybody !!!!
Don't go to cops about it now (to late )
they will drill you as to why it's taken this long for you to report this
Find a way to get back at them
Get someone else to bash the thief for you job done
You don't go to jail
thief is all fucked up and taught a lesson
Then never trust those so called friends of yours again

i'm thinking it's too late to go to the cops since you never filed a report initially (i wouldn't either), perhaps you can hire a private detective to get all sorts of dirt on these folks, blackmail the shit out of them, extract some greenbacks, and ruin their lives completely all from your anonymous perch?

i'm talking getting them fired from their jobs, dumped by their significan others, disowned by their families, and so on.

rippers earn every seed of shit they sow.

At this point its kinda late also i would not confront them cus there gonna bash u up bad. So i would just chalk it up to a good lesson learned and move to a diffrent zipcode!
And remember tge best friends are the ones u can keep at a distance. Remember keep ur friends close but keep ur enemies closer.

If you're legal and you have photos of the guys car at your house and you know his name what is the problem with calling the cops?

These guys are only going to come back and rob you again....

The only thing that will keep these guys from coming back is fear of some negative consequence. If you don't do anything then expect to be robbed again at a later date.

If your going the street justice route, I would hire some "inner city youth" types to pay a visit to the guy/friend who told the rippers and find out where they can be found. Then have your team arrange for return in your items or equivalent in cash.

Unfortunately I've had to do something similar in the past and the results were outstanding.

Since you caught their car on camera

- did you catch them loading the car with the bags ??

-or even just entering a 'private' area on your property ??

Either way go to the cops and show them the video - let them do their job . Legally I believe you have up to 2 years to report a fellony (It's actually a crime to not report it).

Not only did your buddy know that person, your buddy was probably in on it. Sadly i was in on a scam exactly like that... did it to a close friend... now every time something bad happens to me i know its because i was a shitty friend... Worst part is my friend... is still friends with me, so i feel even worse...

Were you being flashy? Did you show off money/ product TO ANYONE? thats why i robbed my friend, cause he was a loud mouth, and constantly would pull up to everyone he knew and break out a roll of cash talking shit... so we fixed his problem... I know i was wrong for doing it but jealously is a real thing, and it can turn friends into enemies... just be careful... live... learn... smoke on!

Best thing todo now is let it go and just keep a mental note of who this guy is and the friend that connects the two of you he might be in on it as well.

Some People are scandalous and will do anything to come up at whoevers expense.
