about 5 weeks and three are og kush the rest bbgum actually the ones furthest back are doing the best ive looked at the charts but so many different difficiencys have similar looks and i dont want to make matters worse

This is true, you dont want to over correct. Sometimes the best solution is to just push forward with a complete nutrient system and hope that they recover.

They definitely are not looking too bad.

I'm not super knowledgeable, can't even spell it- but- for what its worth, I've done a lot of studying on how much light you need- and the general rule of thumb is Minimum 25 watts per square foot- so if you've got what looks like about 10 square feet of space there, you'd be looking at a min of 250 watts, so 600 would I think be plenty- depending on how big you grow them, side flouros might help, but I don't think it would make a huge difference. I'm using a 600 watt HPS over a 3x3 tray using ebb & flow with 9 pots, and it doesn't seem too crowded, and I always get a good yeild.

I am curious about LED light panels as side lights, and I'm going to buy a couple of the 45 watt ones for my next grow as an experiment- if it makes a difference I'll buy a few more and spread them around.

Good setup though- you should be fine.

Yes and No. You have to remember, every inch you move the light up, your losing lumens. A 1000w will most efficiently cover a 4x4 space, but some reflectors claim to cover 5x5, or 5x7. But generally 4x4 is the "ideal" coverage.

I think you are overgrown... like BCtrippin said, you need air circulation for good health. I had good luck on my last grow trimming over half the fan leaves. It opened up the canopy for air circulation and with my HPS the light penetrated deeper fattening up the colas on the second tier.

and what causes pistels to brown i dont know if u can tell but look how some buds look perfect w/ big buds pistels perfect and green leaves and others are smaller browning pistels and some pistels are shriveled and gone already

Just be careful, I hate to Ever cut a healthy fan leaf, they feed your buds!

But anything lower, under neath thats isnt getting light is useless and could be trimmed, have a fan blowing underneath too.

Maybe even get in there one day and move them around, not switch spaces but just shift the buds to change the airflow a bit.

I thought that way... but on my last grow I had so many branches that the fan leaves were covering each other. so the fan leaf above is not able to respire properly during the dark cycle and the the fan leaf below is not getting the light it needs. I think thinning the canopy is important on SOG and SCROG. I think you need to be careful not to over prune. You are right that every leaf is a bud factory, but only if it is getting all it needs from the environment in which it grows.

when I trim I try and only take leaves from the areas that are really over crowded. I try and thin a little bit every few days so I don't stress the plants. I think it makes for healthier plants and better buds.

I read a thread where this guy who was one of the original Sroger's, said he cuts half of a fan leaf off if it's blocking crucial light to bud sites. Then he cuts the rest off after 5-7 days.
You cleaned up under the screen it looks like, and that's the most important thing after 2 to 3 weeks into flowering because the dead leaves and material below will contribute to mold. You don't want the plant to focus and waste energy on that stuff. Also, check out the 2 links below for those interested about Scrog. These articles where written by veteran Scroger's. The info in them, especially the first link, will have you OPEN!!:o
I'm proud of you Homie! You have done an EXCELLENT job with this grow! Especially with the number of plants you have under that 4x4! That's alot of bud! A TRADITIONAL Scrog is 1 plant per square foot, which can be hard and can get out of hand. You have a plant like every 8 to 10 inches it looks like. That is fucking outstanding!:weed:
I'll be starting my second grow ever in about a month. I intend to Scrog too. I'm getting all the equipment from different places for stealth reasons. I have Big Buddha Blue Cheese Fem and Mazar beans waiting to be popped. I'll def post when I start it too!!

It is said that 2oz per square foot is the norm for a Scrog. We are ALL waiting to see your weight......wet and dry!

thanks but theres only 9 plants in this scrog. i would be happy w/ 2 oz per sq ft that would be about 32ozs right??4x4=16...x2=32 =1.25 lb ish

32 ounces is 2 lbs even. You would need 3-4 ounces per plant to achieve that, 2 ounces per square foot.

Its a great goal for a 1k light, I always shoot for about 2 lbs per 1kw light.

1.25 lbs is a good realistic goal to expect that way when you dont achieve 2 lbs per 1kw, you wont be disappointed.

I think you can easily crop well over a pound, so it should be a nice harvest for you.

Hey BCTrippin, I was wondering how much do you water each plant? Until run off? Or maybe a cup or so.
I dont usually water till runoff, I find that to be way too much and can cause algae growth on the top of the soil.

I usually feed just over 1 Liter per plant. Soil drys up in about 3 days, so I feed every 3-4 days on average. They slow down at the start of flowering, but then they take off and start using a lot of water in flowering.

Yeah well your gonna be rolling in buds when you crop. You will get at least a pound, wouldnt be surprised to see 1.5 or more.

You should get some Advance Nutes Overdriver for the last few weeks of flowering.

Wait.. BCTrippin are you doing two grows at the same time? I've found myself only going to your threads NOT knowing they were both different. (High) Jeez man, thanks a lot I've been getting twice the information from you. Hopefully in like 2 months I'll come up on a better camera or phone (even when my phone costs $400, still crappiest camera) I can show let you peep my grows to come. Got a lot of good plans in the future :D

Wow, then thats hilarious that i asked YOU how much you water your plants on this thread. That really threw me off, then again the first time i read this thread was awhile ago, and I'm always high...

My bad pickleman! Your grow is awesome too! Now I remember what caught me onto this thread.. I was thinking of buying a shed like yours on that day i found this.
