moving seedlings from hydro inside to soil outside

I want to move seedlings started in rooter plugs to soil outside. I want to put them in 5-6 inch pots and then transplant to the ground. I would feel more confident with some experienced advice. Thanks in advance.

No reason that won't work fine if you do it right. Let em grow a couple weeks or more to fill the new pot with roots in soil. Make sure you harden them off, i.e. transition them to outside temps and light conditions over a week, don't just toss them into full sunlight immediately you can fry them if they aren't used to UV light.

I've had to put 5 gal DWC plants in soil and the root balls were huge. worked fine. ;-)
