You really think that us burning fossil fuels and releasing 31.3 billion tonnes of Co2 yearly isn't going to effect our atmosphere?
That CO2 would not be released if we did not do it.
It is true that the world has natural trends of cooling and heating, but that is all based off of the atmosphere. The last mini ice age we had during the 16th century was attributed to volcanic eruptions.
Tell the residents of Moscow that we have no effect on the climate and atmosphere. They have had over 30 days of consecutive days of weather 87 degrees up to 102 and the temperatures are usually in the mid 70s this time of year. Or the massive flooding in Pakistan caused by the same air current disruptions in Russia.

The government is the one that was PROVEN to lie about the temps, why would I trust a proven liar for good info? 600F in lake Michigan means that it no longer exists, water boils at 212. My brother lives on the east side of Lake Michigan and he confirms that it is indeed still there. You cannot rely on sources that make shit up can you? I can't rely on the higher learning institutions either, since they are also in on the fraud.

Winter 2007/2008 Arctic ice growth
Arctic Sea ice age in February 2008 compared to the average for 1985-2000 (NASA)
Extremely cold temperatures for the Northern Hemisphere in the Winter of 2007/2008 helped the Arctic ice pack to grow to more near normal levels in terms of surface area covered.[13] The ice was also found to be 10 to 20 centimeters thicker than the previous year in some areas. "But it's too soon to say what impact this winter will have on the Arctic summer sea ice, which reached its lowest coverage ever recorded in the summer of 2007," according to Gilles Langis, a senior ice forecaster with the Canadian Ice Service in Ottawa.[13]
While the cold winter did allow sea ice to re-cover much of the Arctic during the Winter of 2007/2008, conditions were far from normal as "this" pair of NASA images (in the cited reference) reveals. The February 2008 ice pack (right) contained much more young ice than the long-term average (left). In the past, more ice survived the summer melt season and had the chance to thicken over the following winter. In the mid- to late 1980s, over 20 percent of Arctic sea ice was at least six years old; in February 2008, just 6 percent of the ice was six years old or older.[14]

The extent of the 2009 summer sea ice cover was the third lowest value of the satellite monitoring record and more than 25% below the 1979 - 2000 average.[20]
Despite the fact that the extent did not reach a new minimun in 2009 due to unfavorable wind conditions in August, it did set a new record for minimun ice volume. [21]

you guys know how Al gore has been preaching about his pro green campaign, well thats all a cover up for greed and power. He preaches about how we need to lower our Co2 levels from the atmosphere , which may be true, but his answer to fixing this problem is by taxing Co2. Al gore tries to snake his way into this matter and make billions for him and his party, i always hated Al gore. If this carbon tax passes while were still in a recession, you can guarantee the economy to crash like we have never seen before.

Cap and trade turns pollution into a commodity. Its not a bad idea as long as there are lower standards set. It would give companies incentives to lower emissions on there own without government interference. Which is what I always hear people preaching.
Private businesses would save and make money by lowering pollution emissions.
I think your insane if you really think it's a bad idea. The only other alternative is force emission standards by law which would only cost private industry money. This is the best solution I have heard. And don't say pollution is not a problem.

al gore is a moron. he preaches about everyones carbon footprint and his is HUGE. he flys around on a private jet all the time to preach about how people shouldnt do shit like fly around for no reason all the time. he could just make a tv show or put it on the internet but he releases way more carbon than the average person.
and for everyone saying that global warming is happening and showing all this stuff about ice melting etc. whats being debated is whether or not humans are causing it. so you have to prove that humans caused that and you cant do it

thats funny you think im ignorant. i dont care at all what you think. why is there even a debate if its "proven fact"? everything ive read from the scientists doesnt prove shit. i would love to see your solid proof that humans are causing global warming. there is no way to test if the earth would have gotten hot without any of our emmissions. go around calling people names if you like that doesnt change anything

Anyone who can understand the basic concept of the greenhouse effect and how our atmosphere works can easily understand that when you release billions of tons of CO2 into the atmosphere yearly that would not be there otherwise can capture heat and effect air currents and weather patterns. Methane should be our main worry also.

Ahem! We still don't fully understand the earth's mechanism for dealing with these problems. We don't know the thresholds that certain concentrations of gases and pollutants become a problem or what those problems might be. We are acting like we have ALL the answers when we are really not much more than a bunch of arrogant, bumbling apes. Remember that science has been and will continue to be wrong about lots of things. Our species has come a long way in a short time but there is so much more for us to learn. I do believe we need to be more responsible and stop living beyond our means. I also believe the earth will take care of itself and we really don't have a lot of say so in the matter.
And how did the Human race come about, please explain Darwin's theory.
