Monster Cropping Increasing Yield

+Rep for sure. I think my 4 clones I just cut recently were about that far into flowering. Will have to see how they do. Moving from aero-cloner to DWC tomorrow. Would be nice if they branched like crazy so I can flower them sooner =)

My 2c,
Similar thing happened to me, though outdoors.
I put some seeds in mid August (southern hemisphere), found a very nice protected warm spot.
Got nice germ and strong growth as soil warmed nicely during day.
As I was a bit too keen (planting so early) the girls didn't get enough sunlight and assumed it was flowering time.
They got to around 40cm high with tiny bud sites everywhere.
Season rolled on and with added daylength the plants turned to veg.
Result was very similar to the photo in this thread of the forest of shoots from a single stem.
I'm probably 3-4 weeks away from harvest. I have a low plant (90cm with a spread of 1.2 meters) with 16 main colas.
Very happy. Happy enough to do it again this season.
cheers.

they will branch like crazy but the problem is it will take a while:( therefore not flowering sooner.

awesome thread....i stumbled onto this method by accident and somebody forwarded me to this post after I was asking if anybody experienced this.....to add to this....this can also be done with plants from seed....flowered for a couple weeks when they are small and then returned back to veg...mine went crazy!

Perhaps not the best term to call it? When I read "cropping" I assumed you were cutting the crap outta your plants.

Cloning from flower is the shit, of course. Esp. for a scrog.

just took 10 clones that were 3 weeks into flowering, check out my CFL forum, let me know if im doign this right.

I took clones off plants that were 40 days into flower. I had no problem at all getting them to root. I have them in 4 inch rockwool cubes with roots all over the place. My problem is that I have done this 2 months ago and most of them recently died. I did get a few new leaves here and there, but no sprouts. I have two more that are still nice and green, exactly how they looked the day I cut them. Should I keep waiting?

I took my round 25-30 days into flower and had a 98% success rate.....I saw new growth and it switching back to a vegetative state in about two weeks, by two months they should have grown quite a bit, maybe something else is the issue.....

Great thread! Something like this happen to me once. I was away and my clones were rather potbound. One of them started flowering out of stress. When I came back and traspanted everything, the plant went back into veg and was looking a little similar to this, 1fan leafs and such, and alot of bud in the end!

so the bud is left on the clone and as it starts to grow i veg form again the bud splits into many little meristems and then grows equally? looks awesome especially if you want a plant that doent look like pot to put outside

mabey it branches like this because the buds are like (in a way) tiny little branches with flowers on them
was wondering.. can you monster crop the plant when you chop for harvest?? like re-vegging and leaving 1/2 little buds at the bottom, say at the first set of leaves for growth to form from ??

this was my monster cropped plant from 2 years ago... anyone who claims that monster cropping gives you small weak buds has no fucking idea what they are talking about... this plant got ripped 2 weeks into flower and would have put most people who grow in 50LTR pots outdoors to shame.............

well, i wouldnt say weak, have revegged many times, they always do this.

but i do find that indoors, you dont want more than 4 tops per plant.

dont know about outdoors, but indoors you get weak buds(compared to the 4 tops method), lots of them, but much of them is shaded from the light by the other tops, so dont really mature that much or get big. get a shitload of them though.

its the difference between 4 thick all the way down buds (if done correctly) compared to 20-30 wafer thin sticks with a lollipop on the end, (if that)

maybe outdoors its fine, the earth rotating around the sun and all that.

but indoors, i trim revegged plants and heavily.

you might find othervise, but thats so for me.

but to be fair, you´d get more out of this 20-30 top plant than a plant grown regularily (one top with bushy bottom popcorn thats 1-3 feet further from the light than the top )

yes, you can, but not with all strains...some re-veg easier than others...just leave some branches uncut and their growtips undamaged, give them 24 hour light and lots of nitrogen. I´ve been doing this and cloning from flowering plants since I started growing...so I can tell you, it works...Also, The last time I re-vegged a plant and flowered it, I got a much higher yield and denser nugs.

anybody that reads and follows UB's threads would already know the answer,,,,,

it's called Apical Dominance and it is how the plant "divides" its energy, simply put more branches = smaller colas (buds)

here is the research,

Hi Riddle :)

Would it be ok to do this to create a mother plant to take clones from ?

Reverting a flowering clone to veg and then grow her as a mother ?.... would this have any effect on the clones taken from that mother ?

I would like to see some plants that have grown the full cycle with this method ... whats the bud like ?

so after you take a clone you put it in 18/6 cycle for like a month then you switched to 12/12 and it should flower again?

IMG_2420.jpgIMG_2427.jpg I didn't know what monster cropping was. Thought I discovered something new...............These are lemon diesels from last summer's crop. The outdoor plant went in the ground on 5/5 and the lady in the bucket has actually been in there since october and went to flower 5/16. She has had about every problem in the book stressing her out from cheap dirt to cold weather nights, almost fried when the thermostat on the heater stuck. She was horibly OD'ed on Nitrogen when she went to flower so I cut her off of it and within 2 weeks she started sucking out the leaves. I gave her a little shot on a couple of feedings and it slowed it down some. The bud growth has good color and she's getting good and frosty but leaves are still dying at an alarming rate. I just rinsed the soil real good today and gave her a good dose of my blended nutes. The water PH'ed at 5.9 and the soil at just over 6. I hope she makes it another 2 or 3 weeks. I don't want to chop early. Every body else in the grow room is doing just fine. Six more at various stages of flowering under a 600 and a 400 HPS, 2 under the T5 getting some LST action and 2 small buds that I just monstered off of one of the ladys at 21 days in bloom. Life is good...........................

this is a great idea if you want a bushy plant. but having done something similar i put my mothers into flower then back to veg. this stresses the plant out, stress on the plant causes you plant to do some crazy things. I did notice after i took a clone mothered it and so on it seemed to normalize, but i had a problem with one leaf's. (not really a bad thing)
