Milk and Coke?

Has anyone ever tried mixing milk and coke as a cheap, flowering fertilizer? Coke has a significant amount of phosphoric acid (Phosphorus), but adding the milk will add calcium, and help neutralize the PH. I'm going to give it a shot to see what happens.

On another note, this summer, I'm going to try various, miscellaneous organic composts, fertilizer, etc. on a bunch of different plants of the same genetics, to compare results.
 
Ive never heard of Milk and coke before, but keep us all posted on your results!

I could imagine the CO2 in the cola fizzing up a lot when you mix it with milk releasing the gas into the air, maybe do that in your growspace....:bigjoint:

I seriously advise you to not do that. Coke melts a steak in something like 48 hours. you have no business putting that stuff in your body so pouring it into the root system of your plants is crazy. As for milk i dont think you should do that either. highly perishable. If you need to deliver calcium to your plants get some Cal/Mag or put some oyster shells or dolomite lime in your soil.

There are several studies which indicate that milk has fungicidal properties. Farms spray fields with it. Milk do have beneficial properties. I have started adding yogurt whey to my compost. Its not just the bacteria but the dairy its self which benefits the compost.

Coke on the other hand is not organic so this is the wrong people to ask. Most will tell you no just based on that. Maybe this will give you good reason not to use it

Thats the kinda research thats needed. really intrested to find out what happens... Id be willing to try some of your ideas if you run outta test subjects.

Yeah, that's the plan. I've got a bunch of bagseeds from one batch of bud, I'm going to use a bunch of different tests and tactics to see what improves yield, quantity, etc. Definatly looking forward to it, and testing out a lot of cool ideas.

Well theres a few threads here about different things people use. One of the first threads I saw was one of the pee threads. Using pee(the first of the day) as a veg fert. Have you tryed the coke and milk?

The reaction of phosphoric acid (V) to proteins in the milk - they are cut and causes a precipitate
The reaction of phosphoric acid with calcium contained in milk gives rise to a precipitate
3Ca + 2H3PO4 ///\\\ Ca3(PO4)2 + 3H2

It is a reaction of the Phosphoric Acid contained in the coca cola to the milk. Phosphoric Acid molecules attach to the milk giving them more density and separate out while the remaining liquid that makes up the milk and cocoa cola now being lighter floats on top. The solid matter is basically milk that has been curdled by the addition of the more acidic soda.

Both items are acidic but coca-cola more so. In general, coca-cola has a pH of anywhere from 2.5-4.5 because of the Phosphoric Acid content where milk has a normal pH around 6.7 (almost neutral, milk that is in the base range is usually mastitic).

There are some studies to suggest that because of the high Phosphoric Acid content in most soft drinks that they can help to increase the likelihood that a person will develop Osteoporosis if they aren't getting enough Calcium in their diet. Coca-cola makes an excellent household cleaner - it can be used to take tarnish off of pennies and I've used it to degrease car engines. I will not drink any soft drinks.

I have heard of people pouring milk into the stems to grow giant pumkins. But this is hearsay, or a highly regarded secret.

Ppl think they know when they don’t know shit! Coke must be highly diluted but it does contain phosphoric acid (a common fertilizer) and also sugars (potassium) so it really is a bloom booster all on its own (and probably a lot less toxic than many nutrient sludges on the market) milk not only provides calcium but it also contains ALL amino acids and nearly ALL micro nutrients!

i would suggest alternating the feed from diluted coke like 3-4 ml coke to 1 liter of water and then switch to the milk diluted about 1/2 cup milk to 1 liter water

you’ll be very surprised how big and frosty your colas are by week 6... finish it by diluting the feed double the original recipe above (1ml coke to 1 liter and 1/4 cup milk to 1 liter water)for week 7 and then week 8 double the dilution again! Only water for the rest of her life and snap some pics to show how idiotic some ppl can be when they simply THINK THEY KNOW, But DON’T KNOW SHIT!!!
