masculinized seeds

I know how to cross breed, if you're coming on here just to tell me how to do something I already know how to do, mindphuk, then what is the point of coming on here? Maybe the herb clouded your mind process (as I stopped smoking a while back)?

Knowing how to breed is like knowing how to play chess though.. The more you learn, the more inadequate you realize your breeding program really is.. Unless you have acres and acres to fill and select from, and are a master selector of course..
The humbler statement would be you know how to produce seeds..

Agreed, yet the more humble initial statement, would have consisted of "The only reason to feminize seeds is to avoid males. If you need a male, just buy pack of regular seeds. There is no such thing as a YY male. The best you could hope for is a mutant XXY which would be a case of aneuploidy and undesirable, analagous to Klinefelter's Syndrome in people, creating infertile males."

not this thread is stupid and you're just high.

Hence, I lowered myself to give a similar response.

Cannabis is about as wishy washy as you get concerning dioceousness, or conforming to XX/XY conventions..
I don't know if mindphuck actually has info constituting grounds to say that a YY male (a polinator that always passes a Y chromosome) cannot exist, or whether he's working on the premise that we probably would have stumbled upon them by now, but I actually lean towards agreement.. As far as I know, XY/XY crosses have never been achieved, and even if they have, odds are it merely made the line that much less dioceious..
Gotta remember XX/XY is a gross oversimplification of the rudimentary genetics in both plants and animals.. Its a really good rule of thumb in mammals.. Not many flukes arise.. Many plants don't follow that convention at all, others stick to it nearly as well as mammals.. Cannabis though teeters right on the fence, with alot of divergence within sub-species/strains.. A giant red flag that the concept isn't very stable.. The wiki on cannabis actually has some interesting reading..

I apologize. I was a bit high myself and didn't really mean to be quite abrasive. I shouldn't have said anything about this thread being stupid because I know better, everyone has to learn at their own pace. Please accept my sincere apology.

A lot of people also don't realize that a S1 cross (selfing) to get fem seeds is not going to produce clones, which unfortunately, a lot of people tend to think that way. They think that fem seeds give them the same genetics as the parent.
Although I should have been nicer about it, there is no reason you can't cross 2 different strains of female plants. You will have to get one to produce male pollen, just like you would if you were going to do an S1, but then use that pollen to fertilize a different strain.
The downside is the hermaphrodite trait will be passed along.

Don't think it will work. it just ain't in the chromosomes mang. Think it is only going to work with fem. Good luck though.

this info is from Jorge Cervantes's book "Marijuana Horticulture The Medical Growers Bible"

"environmental factors start influencing sex the moment the seedling has 3 pairs of true leaves. increasing N makes more females, lower N levels make more males. more P make more male tendencies, lower P encourages female plants. low temps more females, high temps more males. high humidity more females, low humidity more males. low growing-medium moisture increases males. blue light more females, more red light more males. fewer daylight hours (14hrs) more females, longer days (18hrs) make more males. any amount of environmental stress tends to yield more male plants when growing from seed. at the end of this it says Henk, owner of Dutch Passion Seeds was kind enough to allow us to adapt this info from his archives."

hope this helps...
