Wow,,its been a long time since I took acid. The last time was with my best friend, who I haven't seen in about 8 years. Anyways, I love acid, its the best drug out there to expand your mind and try to figure out what we are all doing here. Definitly not something that you should do without someone who has experience with acid. I have had only one flash back that I can honestly say was a true flash back. I was in college, and was late for class, when I was running up some steps to the second floor, I started tripping. It lasted about 30 min, and really freaked me out. Was unsure what it was at first, but after about 5 min, there was no mistaken the feeling. Anyways,,,I hope if anyone is going to try acid for the first time they make sure that they have a responsible sitter there to make sure they are okay, and dont do anything stupid....IMO

A few comments/bits of advice about LSD based on my own personal experience.

When embarking on your first trip, you must have a trip sitter; this is for your own safety. One thing you have to understand about LSD is that once you are really trippin’ hard (4th of 5th plateau) and you have completely lost any sense of self, you are completely incapable of controlling any situation you may find yourself in.

A personal anecdote might help make this a little clearer. When I tripped on acid for the first time it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I went and ran around campus while I was coming up. The shitty art in the quad took on a whole new dimension. I ran back to my apartment and shot a round of pool, a perfect round of pool, without my glasses or contacts, while everybody watched (so it has been confirmed, I didn't just trip that). BTW, I have never been very good at pool. After that I rolled around on the empty pool table, basking in the glory of total ego destruction, somebody put a bowl up to my mouth and told me to inhale. That helped make the whole experience a little more comfortable, but also made me hungry. So I pulled out my cell phone and called in the order, the pizza man was very confused. While I was on hold I tripped an entire conversation where I was telling the guy on the phone what a great time I was having, and he kept asking me for stuff like my address and phone number and name. Then suddenly I realized what I had done, or thought I had done. I hung up my phone and yelled at my friend "we have to get out of here, NOW, I told the pizza man I was tripping on acid and he said he was going to call the cops!" so we run to his car, meanwhile I am peaking. Peaking under stress is NOT fun. I had lost almost all sense of self but I was sure that when the owner of the body came back he was going to really screwed because he was going to be taking it up the ass in some prison. Everything turned out all right, but for about three hours I was laying on my friends couch FREAKING OUT, in a whole new way. I was sure that someone was coming to get me, the only problem was, I had no idea who the hell me was.

As for flashbacks, I really like my flashbacks; they have always been nice "extras" in consensus reality. Sometimes when I am sitting in my reading chair in my room, and somebody sparks up some reefer, and one of the right songs is playing, and the light levels are low, surfaces will start to brighten up and go Technicolor, and I see the people in the room in bas-relief. People have asked me "these can happen for the rest of your life now, aren't you worried?" to tell you the truth, no, not very worried, LSD flashbacks are like any other flashback, it is a naturally occurring anomaly in the unaltered human brain, a response to an event that elicits a lot of emotion, the only difference is my LSD flashbacks are a little more colorful. BTW, I have non-LSD flashbacks as well, those are the ones I worry about. The moral of the story HPPD is a much better alternative to PTSD.

I take ecstasy every friday night with my friends... and its a right laugh... my favourite part is when I trip on the e... but I don't think I have the balls to take acid, I can imagine seeing some scary shit and can't imagine it to be a good buzz.. I would love to try some american e's because I find myself taking more and more english ones each week... can anyone tell me how many e's they take if they're in america? I imagine them to be amazing

I take e occasionaly
Strippers are the best out here (NY)
it basically shits on all the other E pills...
1 stripper will get you to trip for like 3- 6 hours. It all depends on how you react to the drug and tolerance.
One of the guys i rolled with a couple months ago took 6 strippers and sniffed half of em.
I would not recommend doin this...
I hate the fucking next month after taking E...everything is shitty and slow.

I have never had a flash back like people describe it.
I do however get a funny feeling like I just tood some lsd and it is comming on when I am around other people who are on it.

Have you guys seen the movie "Harvard Man"
That made me feel like I was tripping again.
I could not watch all of it at one time.
I had to stop it a few times because I felt like I was starting to trip.

Oh yeah I have not tripped in probally 2 years.
Before then I would say many many times.
To many to count over the last 12 years.

I will say it is not for everyone though.
I have seen people wig the f out.

To be honest I will never trip again.
I have seen and invisioned everything I want to see.

Now mushrooms are a different story.
I feel that they are more intense.
I feel safer with them since they are organic and not synthetic.

To me the shroom high is manageable to some degree sense it only lasts 4-8 hours.

Unfortunately I have tripped lsd for days on end before.
It is hard to do you have to double the dose each time to get off
1 hit,2hit,4hit,8hit.

but don't touch DXM it affects dopamine and it fairly addictive, and can cause olneys lesions.
Olney's Lesions have only been shown definitively in the brains of mice. Because of that, it isn't widely accepted that the use of dxm causes said lesions in the human brain because they are fundamentally different.

DMX has been shown to be slightly psychologically addictive but doesn't seem to physically addictive. Just as with other drugs, addiction to DXM is based more on your physiology than on the addictive properities of the drug.

As with any drug, if you don't respect it, you will get hurt. So know what you're getting into if you're going to try acid or dex or shrooms.

Flashbacks are not real. I have don lot's of real acid and never had one.
I have never heard of Leary, Kesey, or anybody else who actually used acid
talking about flashbacks. I think it's something the man made up and some people started looking for it.
Urban legend in my book...maybe good weed...:p

what "the man" made up was the idea that acid stuck around with you forever, bouncing around in your spinal fluid, making you think the devil was sitting on your shoulder at the worst possible moment.

We know that this is untrue.

However, to say that acid flashbacks are fake is like saying war flashbacks ("shell shock" for you Vietnam types, "Post Traumatic Stress Disorder" for the Iraq types) are fake. Psychologically speaking, they are practically the same thing.

Maybe I should not have said they are fake.

They are probably just feelings one gets and attaches that name to them.

I believe that it depends on how *mental* you are to begin with.

The only advice I can give you/anyone is to garner a healthy respect for this and any other psychedelics. As I aged I have gained a very deep respect for these drugs and it has been about 10 years since I went on my last "trip". (a surreal story...)

However..as a kid in the 70's...we ate lots of microdots, barrels, windowpanes, pyramids..and all the other gimmicky shit they put the drug on. $2 a hit when i was in schoool..sometimes a 2 or 4 way hit (windowpane in 1974) Holy Mother of God...that windowpane was wicked shit. Acid was around for a good 3 years continuously at my school. By senior yearwe were buying sheets of blotter..100 hits per sheet and full "pictures" of Mr. Natural...Flaming Suns//Stars...all sorts of shit printed on the sheet.

It CAN fuck you up. Some folks don't return the same way they departed. Listen to the words of DARK SIDE OF THE MOON..it's about Syd barret..a severe acid casualty and brilliant musician before he fried his mind

you have no clue what depth of distortion you are seeing....etc. Everything is fluid...the trees..the clouds..the ground at times...

and watch out for the lizards and the quicksand!

"And no Jeff, your mom's not here...and her head didn't really fall off and break into pieces with the peices becoming little lizards that scurried off into the tree roots of the giant oak tree that was talking to you..." <<<me to friend freakin out in backseat of car..10th grade..1974...somewhere on a backwoods road in eastern Kansas City...

and the doormouse said...

This statement has some validity in it!

If you are to embark on any hallucinogen whether big or small... you must know your body first! The drug in itself it relatively safe... so saying that the drug has immense side effects is such a total lie. Anything in big and exaggerated amounts has it downsides. Moderation... and I say it again to all you weekend trippers... MODERATION is a lovely adage to adhere to! I have had my fair share of far out tripping experiences... and I cannot see any weird or annoying side effects after tripping on psilocybe mushrooms, doses of ketamine, or hits or acid. If you are mentally balanced and have no links to mental illness... then acid wont' make you into a raging crazy. Don't let politics and abstract commercialism derail your logic. Look up the information, study, and ponder whether or not acid is safe for you ;)

In my opinion, no one walks out of their first LSD voyage as the same person that walked into it.

a flash back to me means generally feeling slightly trippy all the time, its not like whoa dude i was full on tripping for a second there, everythings a fractal -once you see it on L you might realize that and that feeling doesnt go away i see fractals in water plants mountains everywhere. L kinda just shoves it in your face

frying your brain on a bad dose would land you in a mental hospital like my uncle, but that hardly happens.
