The test plugs I got are made by oatey they have them at lowes or home depot and works great....also I refuse to use hdx cheap ass garbage containers i get mine at lowes and they are x2 the thickness and a much better container..

That's a good idea for the b.h and the pump outside the res...which I'm still considering doing.
I'm gna pass on the venturi for the control bucket with just waterfall return is more than enough and running alot of d.o in ur control bucket is a bitch for ph and keeping it stable which is why I do waterfall for it only and call it a day however that is a great idea air walk never even thought of it...also I have a add back kit for both my control buckets which i built for $15 ea vs 125 and it's exactly the samething....

Also you should look into orbit pvc fittings as you dont have to glue nothing or thread and they are removable with a tool and are leak proof and great fittings just cost more of course but its stupid easy and they spin inside so you can thread them for like the b.h and the pump...

I am kinda leaning towards waterfall but like I said I have everything already for running air I have hundreds of feet of tubing so idc if I have to replace a leader line that's like 16in every other grow isnt a big deal...and havent had a issue with airstones knock on wood.....and I clean them in vinegar when they get build up also the works toilet bowl cleaner works too I've heard...and from the airpumps I would be using are very quiet unlike some alita and linear air pumps that are the loudest thing in the whole room....

If I do go w.f how many gph pump should I get there will be about 12-14" of head pressure but would suck from the control and push into the 2 grow modules as I will run them with my pvc pipe so it can stay nice and clean like I want...

Thanks for your time tho
Orbit would be a wonderful option. IF they made it in anything bigger than 3/4"!!! They have black and blue pieces to 1" but they're even more pricey and still way too small.

The black and blue is not for PVC they are for pex tubing only...and orbits are made 1/2. 3/4 & 1" and any of those sizes would work for a waterfall setup...home depot is the best place I've found for orbit fittings pricing too..yes they cost like 2-3x more per fitting but your not having to glue them you can remove and replace as needed plus less fittings to buy like slips and threads etc..plus they look stupid clean and are great I think and I am very very glad I used them..they dont work too well in small spaces like for height as you need about 1" of piping on the outside so you can slip the tool on still is the only thing but not a big deal...they make couplers with reducers tees and elbows...and why I dont see more people using them for rdwc setups beats me ppl like buying unions still ig I dont know...ya they dont make orbit yet for 2 or 3" pvc but from 1/2.3/4.. and 1" which is the most popular sizes and I would do the samething...altho some orbit 2 or 3" fittings would be pretty dope...but wouldnt be much diff than a rubber tee they already make pretty much.....

I dont have any lol...just saying it's a different option for you or anyone as you said the orbit sizes arent big enough for idk what you want to use them for but 1/2-1" is plenty for a waterfall manifold...as they make a all rubber tees from like 1-6" for pvc.. it has a metal hose clamp on each side just like they make the rubber couplers.. I have one of those on my setup its right at the tee where it goes into the tent and the rubber is in the tent and I am sooo glad I put it there as I can easily remove the control bucket if need be etc...now the all rubber tees are very expensive compared to a pvc tee they want like 25 for a 2" I believe and that was like cheapest online I believe but they would be cool esp for rdwc setups and growers however not for that kind of money.......

I'll be posting some new updated pics of the grow in a week or so I got sick and waited to germinate my seeds and now i have so I'll take some pics when they sprout and go from there...

I'm bot worried about the waterfall manifold man. That's easy enough
I'm talking about the return lines. 2-3" sizes. That's where having those push fit connections would really shine

I will add to the FUCK O2 EMMITER comment... 100% agree these are a gimmick and there is more to it.

The majority of gas exchange in terms of o2 happens at the surface since o2 is not easily dissolved in water unlike some other gasses. You are not putting o2 into the water but rather replenishing it. Either waterfall or air stones will work well (personal preference here). Air stones that produce smaller bubbles are more effective and gentler on your root systems but not because they dissolve easier in water, they simply provide more surface agitation.

In regards to the o2 emitters: These BS devices should not be on the market for hydroponics and I will explain why.

The one half truth they provide that has merit is the test where they use a DO meter to show it increases DO levels significantly. Now it does not actually increase DO levels its just that the o2 remains suspended in water much much longer because of their buoyancy and this leads to an increased reading by the DO meter.

Now the nasty fact is when you add electricity to these emitters they react with salts and break down over time dissolving heavy metals into you water which your plants have no problem uptaking... Yumm.

Ya that's what I said in my msg like 2 days ago lol as I agree if they had them in 2 and 3" they would be great to have too but they would be really expensive tho...and using bulk heads esp current culture ones are just as easy to remove..but if ur wanting a section u would like to be able to separate just get a rubber coupler and use that for ease of use...

As ease of use and efficiency was big for me on this build being able to clean every inch of all the pipes to sterilize with a brush and not just a solution. Which never works only thats for sure....

So i been test running my system today and I was planning on using my alita60 and only after I bought everything for that build and then I was considering something else..so I have a bunch of hydro farm drip rings and since they use air and i have 2 air stones per bucket anyways so I'm going to do a lil experiment this grow like always doing something of course it keeps it fun...so I will do some buckets with the drip rings only on the inside of the buckets against the net pots is how I would run them not outside I will do another with a drip ring and a airstone and then just air stones and the last I may do nothing and just see wat the under current and other buckets d.o that one could get and see the results and go from there...as if the drip rings are wat I'm gna do and works best I'm gna get another one of those 25lpm pumps and call it a day as that air pump does 14w and doesnt do shit for heat and is very quiet like they should be vs some 50w h20 pump for waterfall..as waterfall would be a lil harder to do in veg than in bloom on me wanting to keep it all clean and following with the 2" as I could go get some 3/4 c.c hose I have over 100ft here and make it like that however I'm not going to I'll just do my experiment and go from there on what I'm gna use for the future but idk about that alita60 this round as its pumping some pretty hot air into the air stones of course so I may change it to the 25lpm and drip ring but will see may just say fuck the extra watts a pump will put out over the air pumps I'll use and just use the h2o and go waterfall as I got a few ideas for bloom room for the waterfall....but to be continued.....

Ya I agree I been doing some more reading on them and going to pass thats for sure and plus I refuse to pay that kind of money every 2 yrs or less also they arent really for recirculating systems as much and I'm going to pass on them as like I said orig too if they was sooooo great and wonderful more ppl would use them as they arent much price diff if you would get a linear air pump anyways like 360 vs $400 but ya forget that.....

Has anyone tried the current culture aqua pore pro xl diffusers and what's the difference between those and a soaker hose as they want $50 ea for them when I can build my own for 10th that price so just curious if anyone has used them and what's the difference if any..

As I did buy all my parts for my bloom setup as that's what I was going to setup and it was going to be very clean and now most likely I'm going with 25lpm air pumps instead or maybe a waterfall setup as I got a cool few ideas that would be pretty sweet if I can get it to work..

As yes I know building a ring around the inside bucket for my waterfall is a bit much but I'm okay with that something could happen and I will be happy I did the extra....so I'm thinkn of finding plastic faucet aerators that's male threaded and I'll put them in each of the corner 3ways so 4 per bucket and I'll have a few holes or maybe misters or something in between the corners and see how that works and make it like a hybrid aeroponic/waterfall/rdwc which may work out really well idk that's why we experiment and test things out........

That's a good idea too with the sprayers if you're gonna build a manifold inside the tote anyways.

Yes sirrr just not sure wat size pump I should use for said waterfall and manifold option...I also have this small waterpump like you would use for cooling a PC and I'm considering maybe one of those in ea bucket as it has suction cup feet just put it on the side on the tote and run a intake line into the water and just use that...as it doesnt use shit for power or heat either and would be one small line to both totes instead of 1/2 or 3/4 size pvc for the waterfall pump way......ya I would for sure build the manifold inside it's a nice peace of mind for me just like using bulkheads over uniseal junk....I sooo cant wait to have my jungle back lol...I turned my lights on in my cabinet today for the seeds so were on thee way just a matter of time......

Okay sorry I've been sick and in the hospital so I havent updated this However today is day 20...I transplanted them to my veg tent and I topped and defoilated them today as they did great for the transplant like it never happened so I'm going to be doing x2 manifold and 2 mainline/fluxing training methods and see which I like better ...so heres some pics for before and after and my new way to hang filters instead of wrapping around them just used some 3/4 pipe holders and works great sooo much easier and cleaner so perfect my style....

I am 6 weeks into veg since seed..ladies are doing great and they are loving the upgraded system from how I had it prior... I got lucky with getting 2 dominant sativa and 2 dominant indica wet dreams which Is great. I am mainline/fluxing on 2 of them and manifold the other 2.
As I'm not sure what I will like better at the end but so far I'm leaving towards mainline actually...I'm running cultured solutions nutes right now for this run..320ppm 5.8-6.2..20190604_081302.jpg 20190604_081307.jpg 20190604_081311.jpg 20190604_140331.jpg 20190604_205246.jpg

Sick as hell dude. Very smart to utilize the central air. Clean, filtered, Co2 rich air, pulling into the tent. Also cold.
If you're in a red state though, I'd really suggest not venting out the window.
If it's legal where Ya live, then whatever

Where did you get that frame for your 4X8 tent? The yellow/gold colored rods that screw into the vertical poles?

Here's updates for week 4...ya bro thanks also i live in Colorado plus I'm 100% legal too...and my vent does have a carbon filter as well too and most people will see it as a portable a/c vent anyways..I also run my lights at night when the fan is running as during the day well night for the plants it rarely turns on which is nice...

Damn, different situation here, with my 8 5 gals and 8gal res, they drink about 20 gals down every 4-5 days. Which I'm stoked about because I just refill it with new clean water.
A RES Change is basically impossible. Haha
