Hey Pimp, Glad to see you got your new light and nutes. Save the cfl's for when you build another area for seedlings and clones. And I'm sure you'll want to have a different area for vegging and flowering right. Are they starting to smell good yet?

LADIES & GENTLEMEN, May I say-

on a side note my little ones bottom leaves are looking a little wilted. the newer ones are looking great. I'm thinking it has something to do with the stress of cold and the lady bug attack and there new home. They will most likely be transplanted this weekend.
Lady bugs are good, they will eat the spider mites only is they are hungry tho. Dont worry bout the lower leaves, they tent to fall off hence oldest part of plant. If the rest is good looking your good to go.

u'r right! i just set up an area to vegg the little ones with them. back to those things again. no, there not that bad. but i still have a few to many warm ones...

and yes, she is smelling goood.......

thats what i thought about the lady bugs. they must have been hungry though, they almost wiped out all the little ones. they didn't touch the big girl, i guess she was just getting to punjent.

and 4 today...

i moved my plant into its new box. it looks alot better. i still have to fix the door so no bugs can get in.

i moved my little ones into there new home. it is 2ft x 20 in and like 5 ft high. its painted white inside as its an old freezer. HA, what a good use. right now there is about an inch around the door to cool and vent and until i put a couple of fans through the side. there is about 10 6500K 23 watt cfls shining on 7 little ones.

i repoted the little ones into there next size up.

i almost cooked the little ones today, as i didn't water enough, in there new pots they will get all they need to drink.

on a side note. i got super super high yesterday. i became super paranoid of my setup. i just felt like someone was going to pull in at any moment and say, hey we got a search warrent. HA, man i was HIGH. it just really bothers me i guess that every thing is so perment now and theres no way around that. but, i've been good, only showed my best friend and my mom. so no worries....

all in all good day. bongsmilie

thanks, it feels good to have a few people checking in on me and my plants!!
do you have a journal or any posts of your setup??

today- not such a good day. i stayed home from work today for some reason... i found out that at noon my flower light was still shining bright. i don't know how long the light had been on. the timer was switched to override position. its a flimsy slider switch so maybe it got bumped some how.???? i think i checked in on it the other day and it was off. i just hope it hasn't been on for days!!!

hopefully this doesn't cause a female to turn hermie!

I'm going to give it until tomorrow night before i turn the lights back on.

today was a normal day, in the life of plant growth.

i fed all of em a little something extra. i use more than the directions recommend. time will tell if it was too much. it sucks to be new with these nutes this late in the game.

things are smelling good and the big one is starting to become covered with crystals. the stalks look like they have fatten up a bit.

temps were around 70 degrees. the fan has been off for a few days, it looks like the passive cooling and cool surrounding has made for a great spot. the humidity was around 50. i still have some work to do on the veg side of life. i think the humidity is most likely a little low and the temps seem to stay between 55 and 65. the little ones were brittle, but growing well. i think it was from the other day of dryness.

i'm taking guesses atwhich ones will be male and female. some are bushy some are taller, some have wider greener leaves and others are more skinny with a bit more color. its really kinda cool having so many different types of bag seed. i've been thinking of some strains to buy after the whole setup is perfected. i would really like to pick and mix, but don't see that option a whole lot. i would like a white rhino or widow, a type of skunk and something purple. and of course the g13 and other super high thc content buds have me a bit curious. we will c.......

It's not a good thing to give them more than recommended. Over fertilizing can kill your plants. Keep a very close eye on them and be ready to flush them. How much extra did you give them? When it comes to nutes to little is better than to much. They won't grow as fast but they won't get killed. WATCH THEM VERY, VERY CLOSE. I'd hate to see them die on you.

every one is a ok!

thanks for keeping up with the journal hash lover.

and speaking of dying.. there is a deer 18 feet from my window that died yesterday sometime. odd

today i took some cutting from the big one.

half of them i trimmed the fan leaves in half. the other half i left alone.
i heard that trimming the fan leaves will speed up rooting. we will see.

i cut the lower two or three branches off and cut the bottom of each cutting at a 45 degree angle. i have no rooting hormone. the cuttings will be in a special place until the grow the roots they need.

i may pick up some rooting hormone tomorrow. i'm going to a little reading first.

i put a few more friends into the flower box. 3 cacti and about 25 marigold seeds. i have a countless supply of marigolds. i wanna see if they will take ground in the flower room. the room will do many things in the upcoming spring.

i also made an indoor plant area directly by a window. i hope the sun will warm up the space and allow perhaps spinach to grow all winter long. its setup for ideas now.

i also thought about getting another hps hood. thinking i will put the required timers and circuitry and running my ballast all the time. 12 hours for flower, 12 hours for veg. i have a mh conversion bulb that i'm not using. when the 12 hours go to the flower, i fire up some cfl's to keep them out blooming. i would be willing to bet that 12 hours of MH and 6 hours of 1/2 cfls. would out grow 18 hours of cfls. i'm just wondering how well my ballast can 24/7... just an idea...

the days are never still. today two little ones went off to grow up. it might have been early but i'm sure they will make it. i picked two of the tallest. three is about 3 inchs different between the tall and the small. i wonder if this will have a m/f impact?

the flower shop is doing well, the smell has kinda recessed, but the progress is continual. temps are holding steady; 50-60 at night 70-80 during the day. humidity has dropped today to 55.

i'm thinking about testing a spray big type nute. you just spray it on the canopy.

no root bumps on the clones yet. water is slower than just about every method but has good success rate. the water and clones are in warm temps, with high humidity.

What kind of spray are you going to try? How about that deer, Did you skin it? Maybe get a couple meals out of it? I've had fairly good luck cloning with water. I did use a rooting hormone but want to try it without this time. I have 1 plant that is ready for some cuttings to be taken. I had read that cuttings taken from the lowest branches were best because they were supposed to have more of a natural hormone in then than the upper branches. And I will have to say that I did have a better success rate with the lower branches. I'm still waiting to see who is M/f. I did put an air stone in with then also. But turned it down low. Your welcome for following along with your journal. It's nice to find someone that enjoys making the stuff we need too. I have a couple ideas you might like and be usefull. But I don't think I can post photo's yet. One is for a very cheap 4' inline fan.

Hash Lover- it was a little to warm to serve em up. when i first seen em, he was bloated and had started his path towards becoming one with the earth.

i didn't know that about the lower branches, luckly all my cuttings were from the lower half, so i should be good to go.

i haven't made any head way, with the cool tube idea. first i have to find some relays that can handle what ever the hps needs, i think it has to be pulse voltage rated or something. then i hope i will use the cooltube on my vegg side, as i don't have a hood or anything for that.

the cuttlings are finally starting to show bumps and some super small root sites. its been a while, but i figured this much. i have only changed the water once, its super humid were there at and warm i also just added more light above the clones.

todays update. i just put down a couple of bag seeds. nothing special.

the little ones are doing nicely and need a new name. maybe 2nd rounders. they will slowly go into the flower shop. when ever i get the urge...

i'm guessing this journal will just continue and continue as thats what my grows doing. my guess would be after a few seeds to smoke i would stop following along with a journal. its still a while away of course, so don't go any where.

i hope to get some pics with my blackberry, still don't have a camera and its been a while.

an evening update:

gots some real shitty pictures- hail the blackberry...

i haven't posted my new box yet. so here is a glimmer. the bottom is screen and there is a side screen window about 6 tall. this allows for passive cooling. i run my fan when outside temps are above 50.

i am thinking about installing a small 5 inch fan to help lower my humidity. it is often 50-80 depending on when i watered.

you can see the clones fairly well. they are under low wattage until they root.

i also just ordered seeds.

ppp and white widow from marijuana-seeds.nl/

the flowering plant is starting to look good with the bud sites filling in nice. it doesn't smell a whole lot right now though.

there is no sign of sex on the two smaller plants i put into flower a couple of days ago. didn't think there would be yet. these are very young plants.

i may put a few of the plants i germinated today in 12/12 as soon as they start getting nutes. i may also try a few tricks with them as well.

everyone will be ready for another drink of goodness tommorow.

i picked the buds off of the clones. not much, but why not, i'm hoping to get a faint taste of what is to come...

Oh - I forgot to say, that's awesome about the seeds you bought. I'm excited to see how these strains grow for you. I was actually thinking about growing both, especially the white widow.

Are they feminized?
