This Journal will follow the following:

one plant used as guinea plant for setup, lights, heat etc. doing well. has been burnt before. not sure if its a lad or lady. growing about 2 months under various conditions. Will continue to grow unless it is a male. may flower first to continue its path as a guinea plant.

7 seeds were put down to germinate on Thursday. all have sprouted and are ready to be potted. they are bag seed. i used the paper towel method for germinating. i moved some of my hot water pipe insulation and put the paper towel on that. made for great temps.

between the guinea plant and 6 new ones, they should be from 3 different bags...

The cabinet is roughly 4'w x 4'd x 8'h. separated into two sections vertically. currently only the bottom half is being grown in. this area subject to change. I have a few different possible grow spaces.

Lights: currently a bunch of cfl's 90% in the 6100K and 23 watts. there are a few 2100K and 1 42 watter. I have purchased a 70 watt HPS at a dirt mall for $20. couldn't pass it up. I will be adding a HPS 400 or 600 watt in a few weeks. Hopefully before bloom time, with a MH bulb. this will depend on how the setup changes and of course $$$$.

Nutes: currently using IRONITE. will change to fox farm most likely. hopefully soon. but again this all dependent on $$$. i will do it at least before bloom time.

Soil: a nice industrial grade soil. My girlfriend is a gardner. and can get all we need. along with the pots. i have an ingredient list but will get the details soon.

pics to come through out the day.

female wishes: 1 for the guinea plant and 6 for the plants to come.

picture show.

the first pic should show the seeds with there leg out

the second is of the guinea plant along with its battle scars

and guinea plants new growth

the forth is a seed that i didn't think was going to make it. it looks like its going to give it a shot after all.

and the last is the current "Stage for Life."

today i added the three pc fans for some fresh air and hopes for keeping the new HPS temps down. I also put a bowl of water beside the fans hoping to add to the humidity a little. i changed the cfls to 8-6100K, 23 watts each and 1-42 watt 2100K (i think).

and now we wait...

today i picked up some organic blood meal. I will be mixing some in some how, once i read about it. I have been searching for fox farms locally and have had no luck.

I haven't made any updates cuz nothing big has happened. and i don't have a camera on a regular basis. But.....

I have 9 mini plants. 1 is not growing really at all. the other 8 are making there second set of leaves. with the first set looking very nice. there stretch is minimal. Being that there all bagseed and from 3 different bag's I'm excitied to see what they look like. Already, I can tell a difference in there first set of leaves. Some are very fat and round like, others long and skinny. I hope they continue this way, it will provide a nice mix.

The bigger test plant is hopefully going off to its own grow station to flower. Being as its the ginnea plant, it has to do it first. I will start off with a cfl's and hopefully next month get that hps. I'm running into electric problems where they are at. I can't really put too much out there with out increasing the wire feeding there locations. I hope to do that soon.

I have been able to keep the temps between 60 and 80 even during the 40 degree nights. I have removed the orange fresh air PC fans and closed up the flap. Now there is a small desk fan blowing gently on the little ones.

The bowl of water is doing great for humidity as the fan is blowing the water around and about a 1/2 an inch is evaporating a day.

Being that this is somewhat outside, there has been a few spiders come to nest in this florida like enviroment. that is good, the more spiders the less bugs. :)

Its an every day affair, but i'm still enjoying the hell outta it.

I have some pics i took a couple of days ago. Maybe i will post them later today

today has been the transformation to flower time.

i removed all the small plants and put them in a rubber maid grow style box in the house with the equivalent of 400 watts of 6500K cfl's.

lady bugs have been breaking in and dieting on the smaller plants. now they are safe. inside.

the humidity level was at 80% and the temps were ~78 degrees.

the guinea plant was re potted today all so. it was root bound, glad to see healthy roots. they really show how much is going on that is not visible. It looks really healthy as a plant.

Todays wonders.... Could the guinea plant be a male after all this time??

no camera as a witness today.

the rubbermaid grow box is only a temporary solution. the design is simple.

i took a rubbermaid box and covered most of the inside with mylar. i put 3 pc fans on one side positioned on a CFL box to achieve a height of about 3 inches. there are 4 cfls hanging from a board going across the top. the top is then covered with a white board that seems to cover the box perfectly. being that there is a board across the top holding the lights the whiteboard does not seal or stop ventilation.

the temps aren't above 80 inside with the whiteboard sitting properly. I'm just suprised more people havent complained about burning down there place due to these things.

smells stronger when the plants are growing in a room compared to a well vented building.

the ladybugs have most likely left my flowering plant alone. no sign yet of sex. The plant has recovered from the repotting and is looking healthy.

This day has been good.

i purchased the 400 watt hps from htg. along with the upgrade agro bulb.

i didn't get the air cool hood, as my spots out side in a building and it might not be necessary during the cooler months.

also, the foxfarms three pack is coming with it.

i feel like i enrolled my kids in college.bongsmilie

LADIES & GENTLEMEN, May I say-

WE HAVE A FEMALE!!! or at least on a few nodes. I have been able to see at least 4 seperate nodes with female hairs. Some with 1 and others with 2, hairs that is.

ALSO, TODAY I'M OFFICIALLY GROWING WITH AN HPS.

400watts of HPS light, is an amazing change. My light foot print has tripled.

i'm also standing by with the latest in fox farms triple pack nutes. ready to administer as soon as she's thirsty.

I'm sure my little ones will love this new great "energy" drink as well.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA. DAMN ITS A GOOD TIME over here.

on a side note my little ones bottom leaves are looking a little wilted. the newer ones are looking great. I'm thinking it has something to do with the stress of cold and the lady bug attack and there new home. They will most likely be transplanted this weekend.

I also hope to build my new flower box in an underground building. THat should stabilize temps a little better.

by the way, what in the hell do I do with all these warm cfls??

the sex is becoming more apparent.

i'm soooooo happy with all that light. my plant seems to like it as well.

i had thought about lst for the little ones, but doubt i'm ready for it this time. i think they are about 2 weeks to old and the space is far from perfect.

the smell is starting to make me super excitied!

all right... PICTURES!!!

the guinea plant is loving the new light! I wasn't able to get any decent close ups of the flower sites.

the little ones have shown grace for there new drink. they have just outgrown there current home, and are starting to need more light. as you can see, i still seem to overwater when there young. i think its the little pots, i over compensate so they don't dry up. one day, i get it right.

i also constructed the new flower machine today. it was about 6 hours of work. the dimensions are 3w x 3d x 6h. i forgot to take pics. :( i would really like to share. i still need a door and electric. soon, the grow machine will start to house the little ones.
