Left/Right Brain Test

LOL... There IS an algorithm... one that determines which one is displayed and which one is hidden. The algorithm is what makes it CHANGE randomly ... and not at the same time for each viewer. The algorithm has variables built into it.... to make it different for each viewer.

I'm gonna pass this onto my senior developers... I bet they can easily identify the algorithm.... or at the very least identify the key variables of it. It's not simply an "optical illusion" .... there is an algorithm to it. :D
No algorithm sorry, its real, you can even change the direction your self with willpower by looking at certain parts. Its really your brain, no tricks at all.

it changes directions for me. code420 is right, if you look at certain parts of the body, it changes direction. it does it when I focus on the foot more than anything. it isn't really making any kind of revolutions, the brain is just tricking you into thinking that it is. it's just moving back and forth alot. the angle of the dancer and all that is what tricks you.

The reason I call bullshit is because that is a GIF. If it were a JPG I might be more inclined to believe it. A GIF can be animated, and a JPG can not.

you do have a point, but I just spent the last five minutes staring at this thing to figure out what makes it go left or right, and I figured it out. it's a shadow, it has no depth, you have to make the left leg the right leg, and the right leg the left at the right point. it doesn't matter whether or not it is a gif or jpg. all this is is a shadow moving back and forth.

it's hard to explain, but the point is that there's no "fakeness" to this. all it is, is an optical illusion.

I checked it out and I from what the majority indicates, an illusion. I think I will remain neutral for now. It spins both directions for me nevertheless.

Actually it's a flawed concept. Someone else mentioned this on the forum under the spinning image, but I noticed it too: if you look at the bottom of the image there is a shadow of the woman's foot that moves from right to left, and only from right to left. Therefore the image is necessarily spinning in only one direction, and that would be clockwise. Any perception that the image is spinning counterclockwise is a mistake on the observer's part.

It's technically not even an optical illusion because there is no ambiguity in the movement of the image or its shadows. The image is programmed in such a way that the woman must only be spinning clockwise.
