As y'all noticed this thread has came to a halt. But merry Christmas to all and have a very safe new year. I bought the
best China made light on the market. I just started my china junk flower. I will post pics each week. I will post a pic tomorrow, stay tuned.

They are American chips, they are made in china with American specifications and over sight for an American company that has an over seas manufacturing facility. Definitely not the same junk this post was intended for. We don't say Fords are Mexican cars because the majority of their parts are manufactured in Mexico do we?

the topic is where the problem started "LED Noobs, STOP Buying China Junk" and the point is most LED's are made in China so their many different qualities and I own some Mars 2 LED's which are doing great and as of yesterday I put them in flower. We'll see if they are China junk just because they're not Cree's assembled in America.

There's other chips besides cree that are high quality, unfortunately Mars hydro do not use those chips and fall into the china junk area.

We will see. The difference is I know how to grow and been growing for a while. I don't know what Mars light you used but mine are doing a great job for far, but I'm building my own lights all the best part are made in China!!!! So I can say American made? That's some crooked shit. Here's a pic of my room today on it's first day of flower(started flower on 12-24-2014) SAM_0113.JPG SAM_0114.JPG SAM_0115.JPG

I topped them a couple days ago to even up the canopy a bit. I'm gonna super crop the first 3 weeks to control the height and boost more bud sites. Like I've stated several times in this thread I use to grow for a dispensary. Which means I can grow a lot of good weed not junk. I wouldn't have quit I would have been fired.

I interpreted his remark the same way. "Crees are good, they're made in China, therefore my MarsHydro is good because it's made in China."

But, I think what he's saying is "just because another LED is better doesn't mean Epi-whatever fixtures are 'junk.' They're both made in China, so it's a matter of degrees."

The mods should change the title of this thread because I think it only serves to inflame the very people we want to listen.

@REALSTYLES is a perfect example. He was clearly a sponge ready to absorb the CXA information. But, it took 3 weeks longer than it needed to because he was focused on people calling his MarsHydro "junk."

I see limited usefulness for Epi-whatever fixtures. But, even if they're only as efficient as HPS, that doesn't make them "junk." Just no better than HPS. (There's also build quality, but we settle for lower quality all the time. Guys making COBs without drill presses, etc.).

It would be interesting to hear from realstylze whether he would have found the COB path without the "shocking headline" to draw him in. I think 3 weeks were wasted due to the title of this thread. But, I suppose it's possible he would have skipped the thread entirely if not for that big stick in his eye.

Maybe he should decide if the title of the thread changes. Maybe after he finishes a grow with both his lights.

I don't think anyone's trying to brainwash anybody here. A fair number of people have pointed out the drawbacks of cheaper quality panels. They've also pointed out the better quality panels and why. You get what you pay for applys here. There's a reason 80 percent of all counterfeit products sold throughout the world come from China. They don't have a whole lot of integrity over there. There's little oversight or quality control. Theres a lot of American companys that manufacture over there that do their own quality control and this also has been pointed out. A buddy of mine who grows went with vipar and apollo lights. I think vipar is one of the better cheaper lights. It's one I've seen a number of people here recommend for a cheaper alternative. These threads about this have been going in circles lately especially the arguments and it's getting ridiculous. There's really nothing left here to cover.

I'm all about output for per dollar when looking at about a 2 year use period. I think 90% of us are buying a more expensive product that won't pay for itself.
can't argue with that...I'm half and half in that camp, that's why I went fewer COBs driven harder.
