As a long time LED user, I can tell you with certainty, do not expect much from that light.
That LED light is by Hydro Grow, their reputation is shit, and with good reason.
They just rebrand, and drop ship the cheapest LED lights from China, to the USA.
Just google them and you'll see over a decades worth of problems with this company.

I'm not trying to sour you on LED or crap on your buddy's generosity.
I just wanted you to be aware of the situation so you're not too disappointed when you see the results.
There are many good LED lights out there, unfortunately, this is no where near one of them.
I did not pay anything for this, it was given to me to try and see what I think.. I have it next to the 600w HID, I will be vegging these until may and we will see where they are at then. Im not expecting anything too crazy but I thought id still veg and see what it does

LOL this reminded me of what my wife told me when I was trying to hang a light.. I said "It's heavy baby I need your help" her reply.. "why don't you just put in on the floor". It took her a min to realise what she was proposing then she just helped me hang the light..
I'm putting 40 clones on shelves around my tables just to see what it does. Free smoke at the least

it says hydro grow on one side and on the other side it says Extreme LED x2, I myself even tried to google up this light and could not find it, like that one dude said they may have been a scrap type of light, but it is 580w actually drawn from the wall, the light itself is stupid heavy, I had to attach it to the studs in my ceiling since I was worried about the weight of the light. I haven't had it up long enough to see what its going to do yet, but we shall see.. It was given to me so in no way can I complain nor be anything but grateful and if it doesn't keep up with the hid I will just add more light..

Looks like you do indeed have an 80w LED.

If only lol I agree LED does seem to work well, but Im going to have to find a deal of a lifetime to convince her to let me spend that kind of money, in her eyes Ive been using HID for 16 years so she doesn't see why I need to spend so much on more lights.
Do you have a sealed room?

If its 85w led but drawing almost 600w power then I am for sure taking it down.. according to that chart it says its equiv to 1kw hid, the coverage of it feels more then 85w but Ill give it a bit of time to see..
Get the app in my signature, especially if you have an iPhone. The Android app is still in beta and isn't quite there yet on all devices. Also, the environmental condition for hid and for led are not the same. So there's no real "side by side" going on, at all.

I wouldn't say the room is nasa seal approved, its a regular room with a door, window that I have covered,, plenty of fresh air in and out, clean room that I am vegging in and in no ways am I trying to do a led vs hid comparison test, I want to run LED lighting, buddy gave me a light cause he knew I wanted to try one, I have tons of hid lighting as well but no reason to run all of them. Also this is not a full blown flowering run of led vs hid either since they all go outdoors in May, I veg several things inside like basil, rosemary, some flowers the kid likes, bout to start mint, sunflowers, strawberries, all this will be going outside once it warms up.

Is this not the one you have? EXTREME LED X2 on the side. Hydro Grow LED plaque on the other. Bright silver metal. How are you getting the actual draw from the wall? I am curious on that for sure.
