Lol yea I feel u. Tell her it's saving the invironment
If only lol I agree LED does seem to work well, but Im going to have to find a deal of a lifetime to convince her to let me spend that kind of money, in her eyes Ive been using HID for 16 years so she doesn't see why I need to spend so much on more lights.

Do cost analysis vs one year and you can argue the savings you make by switching to LED will pay for itself over X amount of time. Think smarter not harder ;)

Forgiveness is always better than permission. Just do it.

Are you decided yet?
If you're on a tight budget Kingbrite/Mejiui are great vfm and popular with Rui members if you want to ask about them.

Kingbrite 240w Samsung 3k, 3.5k and 4k board's 301H/B chips + 660nm ir and a meanwell driver solid build quality and generally flawless ime.

480w to the UK £252

When I buy from China at that price warranty is of little concern, I can more than replace a board with the saving if something goes wrong and if Kingbrite won't help.

That's only a example Kingbrite and Mejiui have a range of bar light and boards.

Looks like I will be testing out an led light after all buddy gave me one of his older 600w led lights, I am testing it next to a 600w hps, this is this first led light I've ever hung, let's see what it does next to the hid.

Uhm, that doesn't look like a 600w led.

As a long time LED user, I can tell you with certainty, do not expect much from that light.
That LED light is by Hydro Grow, their reputation is shit, and with good reason.
They just rebrand, and drop ship the cheapest LED lights from China, to the USA.
Just google them and you'll see over a decades worth of problems with this company.

I'm not trying to sour you on LED or crap on your buddy's generosity.
I just wanted you to be aware of the situation so you're not too disappointed when you see the results.
There are many good LED lights out there, unfortunately, this is no where near one of them.
