Kushberry got its first chop this morning! Only one top cola came out with light bleaching, fortunately. Not as dense nugs as the other two plants, but just as frosty and loud smelling. Aroma is something else, too...every bud smells of the same beautiful berry perfume. I really hope it transfers directly to taste...

Got in another harvest from KB, almost as much as the first, but was in a rush at the end so didn’t take a pic of the haul. Yield seems better than I expected, but we’ll see after drying.

Definitely an attractive plant...though the aroma is even lovelier...

Quick update on weight:

All buds have been dried, trimmed again, and are now curing. Inspected them thoroughly several times, and everything is nice and clean.

I did a total weigh today, and am completely happy with the result. The total exceeds my target (keep in mind the medicine is just for me), and the quality of final product greatly exceeds my expectations.

Cannalope Haze: 76g
Kushberry: 80g
Sour Kosher: 86g

Total: 242g (8.64oz)
*Note - about 10g of light-bleached bud

Pics and detailed individual strain reviews to come soon. This new year is a busy one...

Smells like fresh melon rind, but aroma is pretty faint. Buds look appealing with trichome and hair coverage, while density is very impressive. Aroma does not increase when given a squeeze. Buds are basically a bunch of resin marbles with a slight melon smell.

Effects Comments:

Excellent clear-minded, focused sativa that makes getting things done seem fun. It’s not a mind-blowing type of Haze, but that’s not what I was looking for. It lifts the mind to a happy state, but keeps it clear. The effect on the body is just enough for the mind to not be focused on the pain...it notices it, but just doesn’t care. While it’s not a super strong high, it does have above average staying power (as a med user, this is something I greatly appreciate). Was super easy to grow, no problems at all...plant was so strong that its branches also supported a dozen branches from the two other plants on either side (so I didn’t need to stake those). It did have the least yield of the three, but also the densest nugs, just swollen with resin.

From the perspective of effective daytime medicine grown with minimal effort, this Cannalope Haze plant meets the criteria, and exceeds in the areas of effects-duration and smoothness of smoke.

Well done CAS, man what a great journal
beautiful budz
Thank you! I really need to get a macro lens for my phone though. The Sour Kosher nugs are really beautiful, looking like they’ve been rolling around in sugar...but I can’t seem to get any pics that really show it properly. Gonna look into that lens you posted about in your prior grow...glad I bookmarked it at the time.

Very nice work, too bad it is Sativa.
Ah, then you’re gonna dig the Kushberry review, once I actually get it done and posted. Turned out better than the Cannalope Haze in aroma, taste, and potency. It’s a top shelf indica smoke...strong enough that it keeps derailing me from things like writing smoke reviews...

Beautiful sparkling buds that smell like fermented green grapes mixed with Kosher Kush. Aroma is light at first, but builds and lingers...a packed bowl will smell up the room after a few minutes. It’s got the looks and aroma to turn heads, for sure.

SMOKE TEST COMMENTS:

A smooth smoke that tastes dominantly of Riesling wine and that distinctive Kosher Kush musk. I do enjoy the taste more than KK on its own, but doubt a casual smoker would dig it as much. Buds are slightly drier than ideal, so joints burn a bit hot. Definitely an enjoyable smoke with a distinct flavor.

Effects Comments:

This Sour Kosher is very impressive, all around. Gorgeous looks, memorable taste, and one of the most potent hybrid smokes I’ve come across. The mind is immediately lifted and energized, while the body eases onto a pain-free pillow. The combined feeling is so enjoyable, it’s easy to not notice how strong it actually is...but damn, is it strong. Best description is the mind racing on Sour D, the body chilling on Kosher Kush, with full strength on each for a couple hours. Fantastic stuff for being mentally productive while managing physical pain! Also excellent for movie/tv watching or listening to records.

Plant had no problems growing, but its middle branches would have needed staking for support if they hadn’t been using the Cannalope Haze branches next to it. Yield was highest among the three plants, and it’s also the best looking bud. The potency can’t be overstated, either...I’ve smoked it alongside two other hybrids with lab tests just above 25%, and the Sour Kosher felt noticeably stronger. Not the longest duration, but the strength lasts a solid two hours.

This really is some stellar medicine for patients, and I suspect rec users would go for its looks and effects too. Some might not dig the taste, as it is definitely a unique flavor, but those that do will dig it even more as it cures longer (taste keeps getting stronger and more heavy on the green grapes). I’m very glad I have 9 seeds left for the future!

PHYSICAL EXAMINATION COMMENTS:

Dark hunter green buds with brown hairs and excellent trichome coverage. Dense, sticky nugs that clog up the grinder. Great looks, but it’s the aroma that is truly stellar. Berry, earthy, and with enough fuel to tickle the nostrils. Definitely the best smelling bud I’ve ever grown.

SMOKE TEST COMMENTS:

I can not over emphasize how smooth this bud is to smoke! The taste is very close to the smell, but with a bit more of OG fuel. No throat scratching, coughing, or dry mouth, whatsoever. Even exhaled smoke smells good (so I’ve been told by multiple people). My favorite tasting smoke of this grow, for sure.

Effects Comments:

Groovy - it’s the best word to describe the effects. Just a straight up groovy vibe, mentally and physically. Relaxing without being sedating. Mentally positive without fogginess. Suppressing pain without suppressing motivation. I would describe it as a functional OG...it’s conducive to managing pain and still getting small things done, just not quickly or intensely. Perfect for easy afternoons, evenings, and nights. On high-pain days when activity is limited, it’s useful as daytime medicine for recuperating without being completely zoned out. The effects last for a good 3 hours, and though it’s definitely strong herb, it’s not overwhelming by any means...pain seems to just slip away.

As medicine, I’m completely pleased with this Kushberry. It’s effective, enjoyable, and easy to grow. It had the lowest yield of the three plants in this grow, but there is currently more left of it than the others - indicative of how strong and lasting its effects really are. And though it is strong, I wouldn’t suggest it’s the same type of experience as OG’s with more intense effects. It’s just simply about feeling groovy...slow down, you move too fast...
