Looking good. Whats your feeding regimen?
Pretty much tap water still... This soil has enough nutes to veg it through a month it seems but I dressed the soil with 1 tablespoon of the jobe's fertilizer and they are taking off now. I have roughly 1 feeding of fish emulsion and 1 feeding of 1 tablespoon molasses before I switch to flowering. I'm SOLD on this soil and will be using it from now on in my grows. I would like to learn how to mix my own soil and to re-use the espoma soil when done. Maybe you can point me in a direction? I am new to organics but not new to growing.

I also don't think I mentioned it but I switched to 16/8 3 days ago. switching to 14/10 when the lights come on at 7 PM. Then come Wednesday I am switching to 12/12 and will stick with the blue spectrum the first 2 weeks to minimize stretching. I really need to start working on setting the screen up. Been busy with shit and am tired as fuck at the end of the day when the lights come on.

Also, is that white fuzzy shit on top of the soil good or bad fungus? Can't quite figure it out.

In my opinion the white fungus on the top of the soil is all good. If it starts growing on the stock i would be concerned. Sounds like you really like that potting soil you are using. Thats a good starting point for the base of a custom soil mix. Also, a very very important part is worm castings. And when it comes to castings;the fresher the better. Thats why i got my worms and built a box for them about a year ago. They are great recyclers and the end product is pure gold. The other part of the base is coconut coir. I use Botanicare brand as its OMRI listed and very well rinsed so its ready to use out of the bag. Sustainable, enviro- friendly, great water retention, neutral pH and the list goes on - great stuff. And for aeration use plenty of small-nugget perlite. Very important to have good aeration as im sure you know. Man, im hooked on building my own mix and its become an obsession finding and purchasing all the necessary amendments. When i first started i had a hard time finding alot of the stuff. Things like bone and blood meals, dolomite lime and dry all-purpose can all be found easily at places like walmart and home depot. As for the other amendments, this is where it can get tricky-at least it was for me. My first build(currently in use) i was lazy and strapped for cash. I had my worm castings and some basic stuff but wanted to really get started so i said fuck it, mixed up a batch and let it cook for about a month. This is what it looked like:
6gal bag black earth
2gal coco coir
2gal perlite
Amendments:
2 cups dolomite lime(prilled)
1/2 cup blood meal
1 cup bone meal(regular)
1/2 cup bone meal(steamed)
1 cup dry all-purpose(4-4-4)
1 cup crushed eggshells
1 cup brown rice
5 cups steer manure
Notice i dont have any worm castings in the base. Well i fucked up there. Always get some in there. What i did was mix it in prior to transplanting. Still ok but they really should be in at the start as well to inoculate the batch with all kinds of good stuff. I also cut with more coco coir and perlite just prior to transplanting. This made my mix even weaker than it already was and was quickly sucked dry of all available nutrients. Also, the mix overall is extremely lacking in trace elements and micro-nutrients. So i started thinking of my amendments as building blocks and that i could build a much better structure with more building blocks(amendments). So my next batch is now going to look like this:
6gal bag black earth
2gal coco coir
2gal perlite
2gal fresh worm castings
Amendments:
2-1/2 cups dolomite lime(prilled)
3/4 cup blood meal
1 cup bone meal(regular)
1/2 cup bone meal(steamed)
1-1/2 cups organic dry all-purpose
1 cup crushed eggshells
1 cup greensand
1-1/2 cups alfalfa meal
3/4 cup kelp meal
1/4 cup soft rock phosphate
1/4 cup rock phosphate(granular)
3/4 cup feather meal
1/4 glacial rock dust
1/4 cup neem meal
1/4 cup high N bat guano
1/4 cup high P bat guano
1 cup brown rice
5 cups steer manure
Quite a drastic change and while i dont know for sure yet, it should be evident in the overall quality of the next run. Even still i am suprised at how far i have come since making that first batch and am really looking forward to finally smoking some truly organic cannabis. Just can hardly wait till the next run! Sorry this is so long bro, coffee and hoots plus i could talk about organics all day man. I even dream about soil, its fucked up. But anyways, hope at least some of it makes sense and take care buddy.

Somewhat too much for me to digest at the moment but thanks! I need to do some research into organics as this is my first time stepping into this world.
I know, man. It can be a little overwhelming at first. Organics has been a dream of mine for quite some time and i did tons of research myself before i got started. Sorry again for that long post, i could talk growing all day. Take care dude.

I would also like to note for the first 2 days of 12/12 I put in my red spectrum bulbs and noticed increased stretching, insane stretching, on plants #1 and #2. #3 and #4 didn't stretch that much so with that I assume #3 and #4 are going to be females. Time will tell but I am willing to publicly put out my predictions based on my observations.

Why do you think your growth took off like that? Do you think its form the soil or just good seeds?

So I'm guessing you've switched to 12/12 by now? Looking good and bushy man! Do you know which are male? You could probably fill that screen with just one plant in my opinion. I've decided that my next grow is going to be two plants and 12/12 from the start. Have you seen del66666's 12/12 thread? It's pretty awesome!

#2 is a confirmed female! Left with 2 which have not show sex yet... Fingers crossed they are females!

Yes I am now on 12/12. No visible males yet. Yes I have seen del66666's thread. I believe vegging for even 2-3 weeks will yield more then a grow at 12/12 from seed. But who know's. Haven't done a test myself yet. If you do one please make a thread so I can watch and learn!

You may be right about vegging for a few weeks to get a bigger yield, but if you harvest three weeks sooner, you can start another plant three weeks sooner.

Hey, if you do some testing PLEASE start a thread! i'd love to see the difference as much in "person" as I can
