Jon Stewart sums up Fast and Furious

Pudding is soft on dishes. We need a dessert with our nation's grand traditions in mind. I suggest pie. It's flaky, yet conceals a fruity center. I'm a centrist; it's a sweet place to be. cn

Canndo, cheney is a crook also. Cheney has nothing to do with fast and furious. Do you have anything to add to this other than changing the subject to cheney? What about pudding? What about pudding?

Just want to know where you stand Wordz, did you have a problem with his claim of executive privilige or not? It seems that when ever I try to find out if someone has a double standard I am accused of changing the subject or attempting to justify one bad action with another. I did not ask if he was a crook, only if you had a problem with his actions.

yes I obviously have a problem with cheney. I can pick and choose what I like about people. My opinion has nothing to do with whether they are rep. or dem. You are changing the subject.

I am looking into it now - again Beenthere, where did you get your information about RFID? (I read RfID and not GPS). Where did you get your information that OWR made arrests? I am finding lots of propaganda floating around that seems to be giving bad information. With regard to Cheney - I asked not in order to justify F&F witheld information but to see if there was some consistancy - any lack of consistancy would be such a sign of partisanship.

Did you have a problem with Cheney's refusal to divulge info on a government meeting regarding our nation's energy policy?

Are you fucking serious, you want to argue the semantics of GPS vs. RFID chips?
Aren't they both used as tracking devices, and did they use them for Fast & Furious, NO!

You're falling short Canndo, real short, I don't remember mentioning "arrests", where was that?

And there is no regard to Dick Cheney, again, what the hell does he have to do with Fast & Furious and the Obama administration's fuck ups?

Beenthere?

Want to play?

I found this being circulated in some of the more rightist echo chambers. Now, how much of it is actual? How much of it is a lie? First,I am finding that OWR "traded" far fewer weapons and of course let fewer weapons "escape". This brings into question the accuracy or veracity of this entire little talking point list for those who are unlikely to actually do their own research. I can find no evidence of any arrests on the part of OWR. I am going to visit a friend who just got out of the hospital, but I will leave you with this - http://talkingpointsmemo.com/docume...scuss-bush-era-gun-walking-program.php?page=3

You may not want to go through this utterly boring source but the point is that it is a source, and not anyone's opinion and certainly not the following talking point list, which is so often how the right creates its "facts". The last time I did such a thing in depth was in response to another talking point list purportedly from a doctor, about the health care bill. I read the bill and compared the points - that "doctor" did everything but lie and some of those talking points (almost lies) are still in the public discourse - as fact.

Another broken Obama promise of transparency, how sad.

Baaaaah.

[h=1]ABC and NBC Ignore Holder Hearings, CBS's Fast and Furious Coverage Slows to a Crawl[/h]
"The news that the House Oversight Committee will vote next week on whether to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress, for refusing to turn over subpoenaed documents in the Fast and Furious investigation, was met with silence from the Big Three (ABC, NBC, CBS) network news shows. There was no mention of the Holder hearings on Monday’s evening news shows or Tuesday’s morning shows.

The blackout of the Holder hearings continues a stunning trend. Since December 2010, when the Fast and Furious scandal first broke, there have been zero stories about the gunwalking scandal on NBC Nightly News and Today show. On ABC there was only one brief aired on Good Morning America. Only CBS has truly covered the story, mainly due to the work of one reporter, Sharyl Attkisson. Since Attkisson broke the gunwalking story, there have been a total of 30 full stories and 1 brief aired on CBS’s Evening News and This Morning programs".

And the left tells us the mainstream media isn't biased! LOL

Beenthere, it was you who brought up partisanship not I. Now, is this about Fast and Furious, about Operation Wide Receiver? about Holder's withold? about Obama's complicity? About Obama being a terrible evil person? Or is it about the comparision between how bad one operation was over the other? BTW, you do know that GPS chips can be tracked over distance and RFID cannot.

I thought it was about Big Dick Cheney

It's ok for obama since bush did it.

Yep they both broke their Campaign promises showing what similar douchebags they are .

Obama condemns Bush for using Executive Privilege then Obama who promised transparency does the exact same thing. LOL

Republicans and Democrats both the same peices of shit.

While there may be some partisanship in the behavior of Dems, it pales in comparison to that on the other side.

That was your post#6 on the first page.

The Clinton administration invoked executive privilege on fourteen occasions.
Hardly a "pale in comparison"

I'll give Bush and Clinton one thing, at least there wasn't a coverup where our government was responsible for the death of a US law enforcement agent.

I didn't come in until post #11

And you claim I brought it up? LOL

Obama handed out those weapons did he? And beyond that, there was a program identical in every way except magnitude in place before Obama took office, Bush's program, Operation Wide Receiver. Now this doesn't exempt Obama but it goes to your original point.

As you can see, it was also you that brought Wide Receiver into this, not me.

Dude, if you're stoned I totally understand, but really!

-President Barack Obama: 1...25th time Executive Privilege invoked.

-President George W. Bush: 6
-President Bill Clinton: 14
-President George H.W. Bush: 1
-President Ronald Reagan: 3

I would bet that at least one of those 14 had something to do with Lewinsky.

I guarantee you that none of them involved the murder of a US law enforcement officer!

It makes a big difference to me, how can there be public outrage unless the people know?

It wasn't public outrage until FoxNews kept displaying it as one and eventually enough right wing extremest picked it up... seriously, first it was a conspiracy to limit the second amendment, now it's a conspiracy against the drug wars... whatever sticks man, whatever sticks.

But here's the deal, no matter who's in the office, things like this will continue to go on and we'll only know about it if either a) info gets leaked or b) something seriously gets fucked up. I guess since we normally don't hear about it, that when we do some people just have to make it a big enough deal.

If you don't like it, Canada is north of us, their government tends to take care of it's citizens more than worrying about opposite parties and foreign wars.

I think he is upset that Obama didn't keep the Iraq war going. I disagree though about go to Canada if you don't like it, that is a fascistish attitude.

From my understanding, he's saying he doesn't like President's doing shady things; so until either A) he become president and stops it, or B) he finds a politician willing to end his political career to stop it, it'll keep going.

Point is; we've always had a shady government when it comes to foreign affairs (YES F&F was a foreign affair; it involved cartels of a DIFFERENT country). And that will never change. If a person really doesn't like it, and is getting all bent out of shape over it on the internet, then obviously he needs to move to a different country that operates better to his liking... there are over a hundred free countries to choose from; just choose wisely.

Just like in LIFE; in POLITICS there are just somethings that you HAVE to accept and cannot do anything about. Our government being involved in shady/top secret programs is one of the things people just need to accept.

His entire approach is like "I want justice for this one agent", but he goes around defending the warmonger party like an ass hat.

Hey Beennowhere, why don't you give a fuck about 4409 Americans that died in an illegal war in Iraq?
