OMG, The Tide`s coming in and going back out.....twice a day.
OMG, Winter is changing to summer...every year.
OMG, The polar caps are melting again, just like before.
OMG, The tectonic plates have not stopped crawling.
OMG, The Earths polarity is switching again.
OMG, the asteroids can actually strike Earth.

OddBall, Shut the F` up will ya. Global warming is supposed to happen, climate change has been going on since Earths creation. So man may have sped it up a few hundred years, What`s that in geological time ?....Nothing.

Ya, you`re right, The dinosaurs didn`t expect that asteroid, and I remember when the US was covered in glaciers that melted back and created the Great Lakes. I won`t let the rings of fire bother me no more or all those volcano`s either. Well, back to living for me.

All i posted was some polling research about climate change. It is science despite what you and Rubio think. I did try to be humorous. I knew several years ago that Rubio would never be in the running for Prez let alone Governor. He lacks the intestinal fortitude.
I'm really not part of the American schizophrenia viz-a-viz the false dichotomy of the appearance of a massive left--right divide except as an observer to your collective cultural drain circling. I know that sounds patronising. Ok it is. I do hope you believe me though when I say that I do care and it does matter to me. I've met few Americans I did not like, I think it's a great country and I have relatives who live in your great country doer. Yes, they are citizens too. Watching Republicans 'out-right' each other for the last few years has been a form of voyeuristic sport for many of us. Candidates ranting and raving. Spouting total nonsense and saying little that would solve any real problems has been tragic to watch. Wall street gets a pass but minorities on welfare are 'social parasites'? Do I have that right? This is not sport to me although i jibe. America is a great country with the largest economy on the planet. It has, and is the only nation with, the moral authority to police this planet, along with it's allies, as it is a beacon of freedom and hope. Recently, however, you guys seem to need some Paxil or zoloft. Some may require seroquil or stronger meds. Can't say. Not a doctor. Again, I am serious. The english have their 'loony left' while America has a fringe right that scares most G-7 citizens ( we, Canada, are the '7') and make us wonder if you are stable and whether we should stay on the greenback or move to another currency.
I am being critical but in a constructive way. Again, I think you are great (no, not you Doer- i barely know you, but if you are the guy who posed with the 24 kg ball last week i must tell you in advance that you frighten me- even without the ball). I mean America.
The rest of the world is silently cheering you on to greatness and completely willing to forgive past indiscretions (bush2). Please prove our faith and support not to have been a foolish decision.
I just find it tragic and ironic that a nation capable of winning ww2, completing the Manhattan Project and putting a man on the moon has become a spectacle. Is this the same nation that produces men who spout off about 'legitimate rape',re-invent gynecology and discard the Enlightenment? Please prove me an imbecile and/or half-wit. Please. I am a proud NO PARTY as listed on my voter card. Compared to the trillions/billions of years this planet has existed, man kind is nothing but a trivial speck in the timeline. At one time, the Earth was a superheated cloud of solar dust after the big bang. It condensed into super heated gas (global warming?), and then cooled into a crust covered planet with a very melted and active liquid center. Was that global cooling? And then for some reason, either by fate or creationism, simple life began and started to evolve. Life was formed and began to evolve, then the planet had an ice age for who knows how long, kind of like resetting the life experiment...Then came man when things were just right. I hate to say it, the planet was here before us, and will be here when we are gone before the planet itself dies. Everything has a start and an end, and to think man had anything to do with it is insane. Yes, man can poison the planet with chemicals and radioactive waste, but we can not kill it. We can kill ourselves, but the planet will live along with other forms of life...It is just man will no longer be around. And when the sun burns out, goes super nova and explodes, then the planet will be dead...and there is NOTHING man can do to stop that. I hate to tell everyone, but life if terminal...no one is getting out of it alive.
Our sun is not massive enough to go supernova.
It will engulf the earth and collapse into a white dwarf star.

You may or may not be. No way for me to tell something so personal as that.
Proof? I'm a Computer Scientist. We science types have our own definition of proof.
It is actual repeatable, experimental proof, that can be seen by anyone,
Want your own proof, we went to the moon. Build a laser and detector and bounce your own light off the reflectors left there and count your own photon returns.
The fix is in to use less energy world wide and reduce carbon by inconvenience and parley. The fix is in to pour trillions into tech that is very stubborn and may not ever work.
The fix it is spend money now that has not been shown to be the slightest influence on Warming. Hey if the Ross Ice Shelf breaks in your life time, it will raise the sea levels.
But, it won't say we did it or can to anything to stop it.
And we have never been able to stop climate flim flam. It is as old as Witch Doctors.

While not a scientist I do have a technical background. I respect the scientific method.
I can't debate this issue. It's way beyond my pay grade.
I do find it difficult to believe climatologists and/or earth scientists would conspire to hoodwink us. I have a sister who is a biological engineer and she does what doctors do (says 'not my field' and passes the cheetos). What i consider far more plausible is error on their part. Experts have been wrong before. In fact, scientific paradigms have been cast aside many times over the last 300 years. That may or may not happen.
Are you saying that as a computer scientist you are prepared to negate the expertise of another scientist? And in their field no less?

For as much as we've butted heads in the past, and got into some pretty good 'scuffles' (lol), I think we'd get along in person. Even when I disagree with you, you still make some pretty decent points.
Anyways, that's enough 'smoke blowing'
Give a scientist false data and let em run from there. Each and every scientist will be honest and forthright and still come to the wrong conclusion. There doesn't have to be a conspiracy, all the "scientists" of the dark ages would have agreed that the world was flat. Up until the 19th century scientists were unanimous on their belief that meteorites DID NOT COME FROM SPACE. Just because a majority believe in something does not mean it is true, using that reasoning is a fallacy.
