Asshopper at times around here, we ain't always nice, except to good folks. If people inflict suffering over bullshit, I tend to take a dim view. Personal shit does not bother me, social shit and large scale suffering do. We are here to end suffering and there are many ways, it depends on our intention and that depends on our feelings, our heart. This is a wisdom practice too, though I might not sound too wise at times.

Clearly you're not a black man living in the city. Here's my and most other black peoples opinion of the police: they're great. In the last two months in my city block to 10 people have been shot and 3 or 4 at least killed, that I know about and I don't really go looking these things up - we have to pass the crime scenes on a daily basis. Two of the killings I got to hear the shots.

On an average day I will pass a dozen cops in my neighbourhood, as does anyone else. Guess what, especially now that it's dark when people are going to work everybody is glad to have to cop parked on the corner at 5am, especially women.

All of us are glad the cops are there. One of the killings last month there were no less than 26 cops on the ground going door to door - they are well received by everyone; everyone knows they are trying to keep our neighbourhood safe.

That rich white people living outside the cities think the police are keeping us down is completely laughable and reeks of book knowledge and ignorance/naivety at best, maliciousness at worst.

Guess what - constant surveillance keeps the criminals off the streets, deters kids from becoming criminals, keeps drugs away from kids, provide positive role models for the kids, gives someone children can or go to call for help. Cops are a cornerstone of a successful community, if you give gangs more license they will take it.

I don't get how you can ignore basic economics. First supply and demand, now the very basic "if you want less of something tax it, if you want more subsidise it" except want to remove tax on crime (police) while subsidizing homelessness and single parent households thinking it will somehow make the problem better instead of worse.

Reminder - for the third time. Trump has been telling people to wear masks since march (proof a couple posts up). Blm is responsible for the deaths clearly as their protests peaked june 6th, see graph.
