Illinois medical marijuana card wait time

I got mine by just asking questions, I said " I am registering on the Cannabis Pilot site and need some type of QP number" and he read it off and I wrote it down. It was a guy I talked to myself he also told me when my card actually shipped.
I'm not surprised that people are getting different answers depending on who they talk to at the IDPH. It seems to have been that way for a while. Some at IDPH say provisional access is for the Opioid program only, some say you need card in hand to change dispensaries, some will tell you whether you're approved or not, some will give you your QP #, etc. It's completely inconsistent, which tells me that the office is being very poorly managed. It looks like there's a lot of kicking the can down the road, hoping someone else will fix things later.

Is there any benefit to creating a registration at this website if you don't have your QP # yet? It looks like it's only a way to access your "account" with the state in order to renew your card.
Since provisional access is only for online applications, to apply online. Other than the long odds they ever get that working, it seems that is how you renew.

I called dispensary and they said I need physical card though.

It looks like the site linked above isn't for submitting applications for the program. It appears to be only for tracking your application once it's already been submitted. I could be wrong though. Just wondering if anyone here who doesn't yet have a card (or QP #) has registered, or if I'm missing something.

printed / shipped "from east coast" 12/14 said the idph, so it is def in the mail call idph to get your exact ship/print date
This is consistent with what I was told when I made a telephone inquiry late in my approval process. Just like you, I was told not only my approval date but also my print date. I don't think they often give out the print date, and just tell people the approval date and then say, "add 10-14 days."

So even when they say approved does mean its actually shipped it seems like their is a week from the time approved till sent to print then shipped...
I do think they hold batches to send to their out-of-state printer, and there is definitely a whole other step to the process that occurs after IDPH approval.

Does anyone know the state and city of the company who prints off these cards?

If we could figure that one out it would be easy to find out.

It's been reported in this thread that the cards come from one of the Carolinas, possibly South Carolina. My envelope had no postmark, so I cannot confirm.
Yeah, it is just hard to query a whole state for companies that do that type of stuff. List is too long.

Recap: app was confirmed received on 10/3 and my check was cashed 12/13.

Decided to call today based on the QP# stuff posted earlier and it turns out my app is processing, not yet fully approved/sent for printing. So, it looks like they are still processing the first few days of october, and with the holiday coming up my guess is I see the card maybe end of the 1st week of jan or 2nd week of Jan.

If that's the case, maybe me complaining to the governor did speed mine up a bit.

I am new to this and would really appreciate some guidance...I submitted my application online 11/10/18. Should I be doing anything to ensure the process is moving along? I paid with a debit card so the fee is already processed. I was told to verify my email, which I have done. Any tips?

No, there's nothing you can do. And it surely won't get looked at for 60 days unless something changes.

In all seriousness, sit back and wait... It’s been taking 80-90 (closer to 90) days to get your card in hand.

I applied 3 days before you; I’m hoping I’ll see my card the 2nd week of Feb.
