Illinois medical marijuana card wait time

Submitted online directly from the physicians office 12/19/18. Receipt from IDPH 12/19/18.
A receipt from the IDPH? Do you mean a receipt from your credit card payment, or something else?

Like you, I applied online from the doctor's office (90 days ago today), but I've never received any acknowledgement from the state that my application was received or accepted. So if you received something other than a receipt for your credit card payment, you got more than I did.

The only time I was able to get through to the IDPH on the phone, I was told that I would hear from the state ONLY if they had a problem with my application. So I guess I should consider it a good thing (ha!) that as of today, the IDPH has never contacted me with ANY acknowledgement that they received my application, or offered any other information on the MCPP.

Just got off phone with DPH, im approved and sent for printing, they said 7 to 14 business days. Applied online oct 13th.
I just got off the phone with them and they said they are processing the 2nd week of October but it sounds like they should be on week 3. I was also told provisional would be in effect the end of February and only for the OAPP. So, what if I'm currently on opiates, do I qualify for both?

I love this website, when I would constantly google “how long will it take for me to get my medical cannabis card in Illinois” I should have been looking for other people experiences because that’s honestly the best way to figure out . Well to me at least. :hump::hump::hump:

In all seriousness, sit back and wait... It’s been taking 80-90 (closer to 90) days to get your card in hand.
I applied 3 days before you; I’m hoping I’ll see my card the 2nd week of Feb.
I applied online 11/5/18 and got an email receipt from them. They also charged my card.

My experience is.

They received my application November 19th
The last time I actually was able to speck to a representative. The lady had told me they still didn’t get to my application. I asked her so about how many people are ahead of me ? She said about several hundred. Lol I was like. Woah. I also asked about how many employees work on the applications ? She said like a hand full of people.

To me the few times I was able to get in contact with them, most of them don’t really seem to want to answer any of your questions.
And I get it that they don’t want to give “status” or “update” on someone’s application, but I think it’s kinda sad because...that should be apart of customer service.

I completely believe that. Rauner really screwed everyone. I work for the state, and he even changed employee healthcare to be handled by a Canadian company that has no idea what they are doing, instead of it just being handled by state workers. It has increased time for our own benefits exponentially. Now that I'm waiting for my card (it's only been about 30 days), I know how the employees don't work. Believe me, as you have figured out, there are no groups of employees trying to speed things up for anyone. State employees who try to get things done are quickly shot down. What I witness is sad and corrupt.

Believe it or not a man employee told me they were printed in California. Now I know something’s fishy with this customer service.

Granted there are a lot of people trying to get their medical cannabis cards, but I don’t think that should be an excuse for people to have to wait almost 4 months for something that they need and paid for.

They are idiots, or they're screwing with people. But they've said this enough times that they're probably idiots.
The law is very clear OAPP is one thing, provisional access is another thing and only for qualifying patients.

No, an MCPP card holder may not be in the OAPP.
It also takes a bit more than just being on opiates. It's the same application method/requirements as you do every 3 years for MCPP but it's every 3 months.

Same here... 11/07, applied online so my card was charged same day. I think 90 days for me is Feb 7th. I’m just assuming it will be Feb 7th is the earliest I’ll get my card.

I never got an email receipt (or anything else) from the state after applying. What did the email receipt say? Was there any information or directions?
