Illegal vs hispanic

...

To most of the mainstream media, most members of Congress, and even many of their own members, the National Council of La Raza is no more than a Hispanic Rotary Club.

But the National Council of La Raza succeeded in raking in over $15.2 million in federal grants last year alone, of which $7.9 million was in U.S. Department of Education grants for Charter Schools, and undisclosed amounts were for get-out-the-vote efforts supporting La Raza political positions.

The Council of La Raza succeeded in having itself added to congressional hearings by Republican House and Senate leaders. And an anonymous senator even gave the Council of La Raza an extra $4 million in earmarked taxpayer money, supposedly for "housing reform," while La Raza continues to lobby the Senate for virtual open borders and amnesty for illegal aliens.

...
does this sound like gang-related activity, or legitimate political organization??

This article does not pretain to the illegals who use La Raza for their hate and crime.

Nice try to twist it though.

And this part is best for America..

(La Raza continues to lobby the Senate for virtual open borders and amnesty for illegal aliens.)

Founded Feb. 12. 1909, the NAACP is the nation's oldest, largest and most widely recognized grassroots–based civil rights organization. Its more than half-million members and supporters throughout the United States and the world are the premier advocates for civil rights in their communities, conducting voter mobilization and monitoring equal opportunity in the public and private sectors.

Smuggling tunnel found under Rio Grande in El Paso | AP Texas News | Chron.com - Houston Chronicle

JUNE 25
EL PASO, Texas — U.S. officials on Friday discovered a smuggling tunnel running under the Rio Grande from Mexico into Texas, the first such tunnel in the region.
A sensor technician and a border agent found the crude 2-foot-by-2-foot tunnel connecting to a drainage tunnel at the border in El Paso, U.S. Border Patrol spokesman Doug Mosier said.

i wasnt gonna post this because its kind of a low blow but proof of how illegals here screws americans... a few nights ago i was in a car accident... i was side swipe by a big cargo van into my 06 cadillac cts.. it wasnt my fault so by normal standard id b compinsated but because he was an illegal i may jus end up screwd... FACT!
....and then the officer just throws them back out to do it again.....it's all BS. We, as LEGAL citizens, pay heavy consequences given the same scenario.
If the government persists on supporting this insanity, I persist they pay me back for all the woes caused me for their unjust services.

what hypocrisy? i decry racism from any group. try to keep up.

it seems all you know about la raza is its obvious translation. did you know that it is actually an advocacy group, genius? just like the NAACP or NOW.

gangs come in all colors and nationalities. there are black gangs and white gangs and hispanic gangs and many more! so your reference to hispanic gangs is one-sided at best.

i don't care what you say about my 'tolerance run amok', what i am against are people like you who have the opposite problem. the ones that conjure up images of boogeymen comng here to take our jobs and rape our white women. it seems your worldview may be the clouded one.

liberal establishment? please. i can sit all day and busy myself with limbaugh and beck and hannity and you call this the liberal establishment? again, your worldview seems to be the clouded one.

nice try at dehumanizing those people who are 'running across the border in the middle of the night', as if there were SOOO many other groups that could describe.

get well soon, buddy
The NAACP........gee, now we are talking SENSE...........:roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll:
I don't know whether to laugh or cry at your nonsense any longer.

You use the term "boogeyman" and I envision this ....oh never mind.

Your views are so lopsided........ONE SIDED. You are TRULY incapable of seeing any of this for what it is worth.

If you were able to ever post without using the term "boogeyman" and "racist"..I might even BEGIN to take any single thing you say seriously.

As of now, you have PROVEN yourself to be a SELF-RIGHTEOUS BIGOT.

Wow, lots of really good posts. Good discussion...

Babs, it seems to me that your issue is more about uninsured drivers regardless of their immigration status.

And the same is true of a lot of this. Immigrants always get scapegoated for low wages, crime and various social ills, it's been like that forever. Is the reason there is so much crime on the southern border because of illegal immigrants or because of the drug war and the cartels?

My view on immigration is pretty simple. The reason we have so many people coming into the country illegally is because our legal immigration system is broken because it relies on artificial quotas and ceilings. If we had a guest worker program for seasonal labor, as well as easy h2b visas for skilled workers in IT, engineering, medicine and the like, it would greatly benefit our economy and stem the tide of people trying to enter illegally. The reason so many people try to come here is because there has for a long time been a huge demand for unskilled, mobile labor and many employers look the other way. Now, if the economy goes so bad that people start moving in the hopes of finding seasonal agricultural work, 1930s okhies style, then that obviously changes. Right now, you don't have a lot of laid-off software engineers willing to move halfway across the country do manual labor for 5 bucks an hour...

So until we can figure out how to let in enough of the right people, trying to lock down the border is a fools' errand. People will keep coming no matter what we do. It's just way too much border to be able to control the way you guys are suggesting without completely militarizing that whole area. But until you can take care of the supply and demand side of migrant labor, putting up bigger and bigger walls is pointless...

my apologies, babs. i just checked my policy, it is $13.20 yearly for uninsured/underinsured motorists protection. so $1.10 a month.

and guess what? it protects me from ANY uninsured motorist! not just the illegals, but nice try at attempting to reframe the issue.

now if you'll excuse me, i have to go to home depot and find some illegals to mow my lawn for me.

I've noticed this too. the topic starts off by talking about immigration, and then someone trys to agree and say they hate it when they see mexicans (insert place here) and then others that compared mexicans to breeding rats?! wtf?

this pisses me off.
I'm Hispanic, and my girlfriend is a Legal imagrent, that was born in mexico, and in a US citizen. (shes got a bachelors degree, and speaks better English then most people i know)
the problem is not with immigrants its with ILLEGAL immigrants and it just so happens that millions and millions of them are mexicans. they come over here illegally and its about time something is done. I vote for shooting them.

Nope, my issue is with illegal immigration, period, point blank.
Sorry to say, but I will not discuss this topic with someone any longer who claims the "issue at hand" to take care of the supply and demand SIDE of migrant labor....ridiculous.

And btw and a for the record, there is no demand for unskilled mobile workers...baloney.
It's getting old seeing others use that reference too as if carpentry, etc. are designed to be the "poor man's job"
There is NO shame in having these skills/talents.

Try also not placing the label "unskilled" or attempt to sell me on the notion that Americans are too lazy to perform this work.

Are you implying that the highly educated in America, without work, should travel abroad for five dollars an hour? They too are without work just so you know......lazy ass's should get off their butts and start digging some tunnels.......to accomodate you and your line of thinking.

What you don't seem to get is that what you say doesn't matter.....and that's what? the third or fourth time you've used the term "mailbox checker?" I'm going to finally respond by saying I don't know what the hell you are talking about.
Stick with the topic at hand. You do nothing but instigate pure garbage with people who aren't in line with your ridiculous claim to logic.
You are way off base with most, if not ALL of your posts.

Hahaha......

So you're not going to discuss this with me because you find my views so offensive (which is ridiculous in itself) yet you do post a whole paragraph of what looks suspiciously like discussion....?

And how is taking the demand-side of immigration into account ridiculous? That's the exact same logic the drug warriors use, by the way...

You might want to inform yourself a bit better about the US labor market. There are huge shortages of labor in some parts of the country and immigrants (legal or otherwise) tend to be the only ones filling the gaps. If there were a guest worker program for people to come work here during harvest season and then go home, there wouldn't be a need for big food companies to hire so many illegals. And I'm sorry you find the term 'unskilled labor' offensive, but that's the term in economics for people who have no particular qualifications and no high school diploma. And it actually doesn't include a lot of what you're thinking either....i.e. carpenters, auto mechanics, plumbers are all skilled laborers.

I don't really understand the last part of your post...sorry, but I don't think software engineers should be digging tunnels to mexico if that's what you're asking. They should be writing software....
