Just a little update.. not sure where I stand as far as progress.. can y'all help? Couple questions.. The lowest fan leaves up and died, no worries? Plus I've noticed some redding on the stems of the fan leaves and some tip burn on the small leaves around the buds.. should I start to flush? do you think Im near that point? It's cause of the nutes right? And honestly I've heard about using the 30x loupe to check for "ripeness", but where the's best place to look? I need to read up a little more again.. for the next stage! Still a newb... :D here's some pics... thanks again!!
Yea your right, as the plant matures It draws nutrients from its lower leaf and it dies off, natural. The burning of the tips of the leaf is an indicator of a little too much nutrient. The red or purple leaf stems can be a sign of stress. sometimes caused by the plant getting too cold at night.

To tell when she is ripe what you look at is that little dusty or frosty stuff. They are called trichomes. they look like tiny mushrooms. when they are clear they are producing, when they get cloudy they are ripe, harvest now and you get a good head high. if you wait longer they turn amber and will produce more of a body stone. Some say its best to wait till you see 50/50 It's really up to you, what kind of stone your lookin for. By the way if you wait till they are all amber they start loosing there potency. You see those little hairs that are white? those are pistils, they will turn amber about the same time unless exposed to a lot of light then they will amber sooner then the trichomes ripen.

What I would do is stop feeding and go with water for a week or so and check the night temps.
She may have enough nutes in her to finish as it is.

Ok, so you think it's really that close? I will just start using straight water now.. I have seen the trichs with my magnifier, just forgot that's where i should be looking. I am getting some of the pistils ambering, on some of the lower buds, but the main cola not so much. It actually has started growing again? Something up with that? And I hear ya on the temps at night.. there was a couple of nights around here, that got cold, and the window to the room that she is in, got left open, but that has been fixed! Thanks again, for all your help!

I didnt say I thought she was close, you got a month or so to go, the buds will double in size. That main cola is still growing strong. What I meant was lay off the nutes for a week or so. let her catch up. Keep up watering. You plant will tell you when she is hungry again, you will see all the leaf getting a lighter color green as she uses her stored nutrients. then feed once or maybe twice but then stop and go back to water the last couple weeks. I just went a month of just water and chopped a 2 pound plant, last one in my greenhouse.

By the way, if you can keep your daytime temps within 10° of your night temps it will promote more branching in veg and bigger buds.

Ok thanks man, I understand what your saying now. I'll do that, and keep an eye out for the color change in the leaves. Thanks again for all your help. I'm just getting excited to reap the rewards of this. Still cant believe that it's going as good as it is...

Ok so it's been quite awhile since I've posted, but I think I've come a long way, and damn near there I hope! I went a week with water, then back to nutes, and have been straight watering for the last few weeks and here's where I stand.. What ya think?
As always the advice is greatly appreciated!! :D

Congrats man, You did it. You now have harvest-able buds.
I like the way you left the dead stuff on. Natural look to her.

I cropped one of your photos, see the trichomes are cloudy.

You can take her now or wait a couple weeks and the trichome heads will turn amber.
That gives you more of a body stone. Good job man.

Harvest pieces at a time. See what you like best as far as cloudy, milky, and amber. Just cut small pieces off that you think are ready dry and try.
