So I started with just a seed out of a qtr of some nice buds.. and so far this is what I've got. Everything has been done with Cfls. Cheap and easy!! I have a total of 4 6500k 100w and 2 100w 2700k( for the flowering and it makes me feel better) and so far so good. Its all set up in my closet which is about an area of 4'x4'x6'. Attached is the most recent pics after an adjustment with the box...

So do you run both the 6500s and the 2700s at the same time? From the pics it looks like all 6 bulbs are on. I thought it was either/or - during veg 6500k and during flowering 2700. Is it both? If so, is that always the case? Thanks!

Yeah I have all six on now for flowering... during the veg. state I only had 4 bulbs going and they were all 6500k.. I've been told that the blue spectrum in the light can create a truer flower with its "honest" flavor.... now I'm not completely sure on this so don't take my word, and anyone please chime in and tell me if I'm wrong!! But I'm gonna give it a whirl, see what happens.. hell it's my first shot and ya gotta learn somewhere!

Hi, Yea 6500k is good for pics too.
Personally I would go 2/3 4000 and 1/3 6500k Think 6500k cloudy day. 4000k sunrise and sunset.

Looks good man, what I would do at this point is a little pruning and light positioning.
I think the lower branches should come off and the side lighting moved up about a foot.

Drop the lower branches in a cup of water and set it on the window sill, you may have roots in a few weeks.

Thanks man for gettin back, but just a question about the pruning? Should I take everything off? Including all leaves and shoots, just right to the bare trunk? I would then understand about moving up the lights, and I can get some different lighting going. Sorry, just wanna make sure before I go chopping!! :D

And seriously thanks for takin a look...

Yea, cut the stems off the trunk with scissors. probably the first set or two. Everything that starts under the text on the pic. Those two little side branches above will be huge. Believe me you dont need them and the plant will love you for it. They never get enough light and even if they do get blasted they are loaded with rooting hormones and wont amount to much. Yea I always take all the lower stuff off a week after I start training, I think its best to wait a week to minimize stress but it should go.

I have been won over by CFLs. Some people get huge yields off of them. I just started using them and my nodal spacing is tight. Im going to be using HID soon but ,with my heat issues, it is going to be supplemental to my CFLs.

yeah but he's talking cfl's which aren't as efficient as HID and those huge cfl's are so inefficient it's even worse is what he's saying!

Congrats man,
Its not easy cutting off those lower branches the first time.
You did the right thing, watch those lower branches catch up with the top now.

He's saying there's no way you call 600w of cfl equivalent to HID even if it's the smaller more efficient 26w cfl's and certainly not in comparison to a 600w HID!

Thanks yeah it was painful! Did get some good shoots sittin in glass water now.... we'll see how that goes, although if they do take root, not sure what I'm gonna do with them... NO room! :D

I don't understand how everyones plants are so tall and my lady is so short. I did LST but her nodes between branches are really close together unlike yours where she stretched out for each new fan.

She is a clone but her sisters are all tall (I visit often)
I'm doing CFL as well and my first grow worked out quite well.

Hope all works out with yours.

no im not saying anything of the kind, im saying that the physical wattage of those 6 cfls is not 600 watts.

Thanks man, yours look good! I was hoping to keep it small, because of lack of space. I think the reason my stretched so much is probably the fact of me moving my lights and not keeping them close enough. I'm into the flowering on this one, my first, and I'm once again running out of room? I was wondering if I could still do some tying down and try to revert it back up, or do you think that it's to late? Thanks for any help and checkin it out!
