I need a surefire way to germinate my seeds

I had some good seeds in a seeding mix under a seedling dome under some cfl's for a week now. Stirred it up a bit today just to look, and nothing. Not a crack at all. These are some really good seeds, so before I toss them out as dead, what is a surefire way to germinate them? I read about the wet paper towel in a baggie on top of the water heater, but is there a better way that works for you every time?

yeh dude go with the paper towel and baggie on heater works every time 1000% germ!!

flod up a perer towle put the seeds inside get the towle wet and place in zip lock bag for about 5 days they should be
cracked and already growing a taproot this is my tried and true method works every time i just leave them in my closet

oh and you only need 1 maybe 2 cfls for seedlings max keep the light about 3 inchs away

I personally use a small 4 oz tuperware container flip it over and use the clear part as the dome. Like ryan said, u cant go wrong sith the paper towel, but the tuperware keeps it sealed usually all my seeds crack w/ a cm long sprout in 2 day

i soak mine over night and throw em in dirt...pootem under the light...

Old bad seeds won't germinate. Good viable seeds will.

I just use a paper towel wet with water and Instant Kharma (or just Kelp mix). Fold the seed up in it, and stick it in a party cup with just a tiny bit of water in the bottom for the paper towel to wick up as it drys out. Then put the party cup in the top shelf of your cupboard. My seeds usually crack in 3 days with this method.

soak em til they sink the put em in a paper towel somewhere warm and dark.. dont let them dry out

GERMINATION METHOD

Hey there for sure fire way of germinating that i have used too 100% sucess ist the dark paper towl method. also using scarification .

step 1 you take the seeds and gently file the lip going around the seed on both side then you soak 3 or 4 pieces of paper towel folded to your size choice then open it place seeds in then place fold back over so the seeds are in the middle of your ppr/twl sandwich and place in a completly light proof container place cover on and sit in a good warm spot i put mine on the back of a t.v. or on my dryer or on top my grow cab very warm spot but then leave it for 12 hrs and check iv'e usually sprout seeds within 10-24 hrs with this method with tails a quater inch and ready to plant but the 3 keys are scarification or filing the seed , warmth , and pure dark , remember we are mimicing nature as best we can indoors so pure dark under ground heat the sun and scarification the natural wear and tear in nature.

Idk about that one do u mean bag seeds or jus bad seeds, and wat determines a bad seed

OK thanks for all the advice, I have them in a wet paper towel in a baggie on top of my water heater.I'll check the moisture level daily and hope for the best!

what has worked for me with pretty fast results , is I soak the seeds in water over night. distilled room temp water. leave them in the dark for 24hrs. then I plant they shallow in the soil and within 1 day 2 at the most I have seedlings

Ha ha wouldn't you know it, less than 24 hours in a baggie on the water heater and three have popped already!

never tried scratching the surface...i just plant them and keep em on a heating mat. the paper towel thing is dangerous if it dries out and you're not there to add water.

ok you need to reac closer it also says a light tight container with lid hence it doesnt dry out ever lol

did ya scrape them ? I do this because the seedling doesnt waist energy tring to pop the husk thats all your doing is taking away the husk lip not the actual coating around the seed but like i said ive had 100% success due to this scraping or filing of the husk that is 90 % of the reason peoples seeds dont pop is cause they werent strong enough to actually pop the husk so they think they have badd seeds and blame seed companies.

i used to do that with bagseeds, id take a piece of sandpaper and roll it up inside out so its a tube with sandpaper on the inside, and id shake the shit out of the seeds and then put em in a paper towel, it seems to work..i just use the paper towel in a drug bag on top of my cable box method now.works everytime for me.
