^^^^^^Every once in while I eat a leaf from the chocolate mint. Freshens breath taste like a candy chocolate mint. I don't really drink alcohol since I'm allergic to hops.... If I digest it I profusely puke for a couple days.

companion crops are also a nutrient accumulater.

worm castings / compost are the best thing for plants. Now you see want I have been saying forever.

Psu you should do what captain does. Instead of 2- 4 2 gals. Do 1 or 2 big 10 Gals. Veg for 2-3 months you would probably get more too.

No beer huh? What about gluten free liquor (potato/corn vodka, whiskeys)?

I remember you always pushing the compost top dress for gnats and I ignored it for years. The worm castings as a pesticide is amazingly effective so far.

2-3 months veg? Your crazy.......i'm 12/12 from seed here on out, so my 2 gallons are fine for indica dom .

I drink rum sometimes. Vodka once long while. I actually have a bottle of vodka my cousin gave me before he left for afghanistan. I haven't touched it. I have have had it since Sep.

with 12/12 Fs with indica doms. You can get 1-1.5 zips per plant every 3-4 months. Or veg 2-3 months and pull 4-8 zips per plant every 4-5 months. Do the math....

if anyone watched hunters of the dank. I'm following TC or who ever it is method of ripeness. No scoping or waiting for hairs to change color. Watching the calyx. What they do. Waiting for the orange/ brown/ red or what ever color hairs to recede into the calyx then swell up. I'm seeing the difference especially on the cbk. I never let it go past 56 days before. Its at day 60 and wow. Everything will probably go 65-70 days. I will take pics in the next couple days. I want to use a better camera. So have to borrow one.

I was asking Headtreep about top dressing VC and what happens if it dries out. He said the microbes go dormant. So wouldn't you want to keep the top dressing moist (like May's va jay jay) I put some leaves on my pots for mulch.

Yeah. Dormant means just sleeping not dead. If it dries, when the VC gets wet. The microbes wake up and get to action.

This is correct, but I definitely think you get the most out of top dresses if they stay moist (like if you mulch).

Bacteria growth is described in phases: Lag phase --> Log phase --> Stationary phase --> Death Phase

That "lag phase" describes the time it takes the bacteria to "wake up" as it were... This is the time where the bacteria adapt to their surroundings before beginning exponential growth (log phase). Going from wet to dry is definitely a change of conditions, and will set your microbiology back into the lag phase each time they cycle from wet to dry, or vice versa. By keeping the soil moist, you avoid the lag phase altogether. The bacteria remain active, growing, reproducing, and going about their life-supporting business.

I just had an ant invasion into just one tub of soil.. I haven't looked at it in a couple weeks. I may have watered it with molasses after topdressing with VC. I sprayed it down with a peppermint foliar. Killed them all. Then emptied the tub. Cleaned it all up. Mixed up soil and watered with a sst. It was gnarly. A shitload of predatory mites were battling the ants too. It was like World War Z in that tub. Its all good now. I'm sure a month from now it will be fine. I won't be using that soil any time soon anyway. oh and yes it has a lid on the tub.

the girls in flower got their last watering with an sst. Day 61. So once soil is almost dry. I will shut off lights and let them sit in the dark for a day or 2. Then chop.

Never tried the dark period before harvest. I usually hear 2 days. Do you notice a difference? On another note, I'm thinking about farming nematodes. Might start a little side business called RedCarpet's Critters.

I sometimes do the dark period for 48 hours before chop. They fade and droop hardcore; it's like an little extra boost of ripening right at the end. Also, I personally don't let them dry out completely; moist soil right to the end for me. I like my buds to take AT LEAST a week to hang dry, and I've noticed if they're extra thirsty/droopy at harvest, they tend to dry to quickly for my tastes. I'm sure that just depends in individual conditions and preferences. Neither way is the wrong way, just different.

i do the dark period for a day or 2. It causes calyx swell up more and buds become more resinous.. I let the soil dry for the fade. Makes for smoother smoke, more pungent taste and smell

and

I started up a nice botanical tea before work.

kelp meal, dried dandelions, dried lavender, and will add aloe tomorrow.

I'm out of alfalfa meal. Everywhere says that they will get it in Sunday or Monday... Its $7.00 everywhere for 5 lbs. Cheaper than ordering 2 lb's

Hyroot,

Question for you, could one not just buy alpha feed for stock animals, use the feed per portion to the tea recipe?

I would think that would be more readily available possibly and less expensive probably?

well alpha feed has animal fat and meat in it.. why would I do that... Everything for my teas are free except for the molasses and kelp meal. I grow my own plants for the botanical teas. I have a worm bin for the vermicompost. dandelions grow wild all over my neighbor hood. Botanical teas only need to bubble for 18-20 hours. a compost tea about 24 hours. enzyme tea takes a couple days to make because of sprouting teas.

Didn't know that thought alpha pellets for rabbits were all organic plant food, didn't know bunnies ate meat... hmm?

Maybe we aren't talking about same alpha product at the feed store? I will ask about their's were I am at.
The only thing I know I can use in my yard is dandelions but I hear bananas make good tea too?

Well you said alpha feed for stock animals. To me that means like cattle and what not. Rabbits are hippy vegetarians. Either way. All my plant material and vc is free.

white spots are diatomaceous earth from before. that shit does not come off. luckily it helps aeration if in soil., so I hope that applied to leaves.

After the next batch I may get rid of # 3. it had problems (the only one) so yield is not that good. Mainly it can't hold up any of its branches nor the main stalk.. That is so annoying. I have 2 more in the next batch and then I will decide. I should be adding new strains by then too. I like the way #2 branches out. it goes more wide. It produces far bigger buds and denser. this is also my first run of the nl x og of these phenos from clone. I didn't veg these either, except for the last week of veg after transplant.. so next batch will definitely be better plus cmh's will be here soon.
