Hunter Biden’s Laptop

Thanks!
Do you have a credible (not libertarian) alternative?
Nothing other than full on revolution, the US electoral system is set up so that we are forever mathematically doomed to only two (remarkably similar) options:

As long as we have capitalism and 'First Past the Post' representation, billionaires will control everything. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Every government orders rail workers back to work, it is a vital service, even in "socialist" Canada.
If they're so vital why didn't Biden tell the rail bosses to treat them fairly? I don't care who you are, nobody can say they are treated fairly. They can't even get days off for basic medical care.

However, the difference is they force both parties into binding arbitration to settle differences.
This 'binding arbitration' gave the rail bosses everything and the workers nothing. Just like designed.

What is the point of the Democrats if they can't even stand up for mistreated rail workers? That's like the lowest hanging fruit there is.

The billionaires problem is real. The lack of fallout/accountability after the bank shenanigans of 15 years ago disheartened me mightily.

I do not favor revolution on the general principle that they tend to decay into a fascist ground state, to use a physics metaphor. Lenin’s Russia is a good example.

So I seek ways of effecting change within the system, which leads to scenarios for improvement that have high inertia barriers and low outcome confidence.

Even so, I am at this time a committed Democrat voter on pragmatic grounds. The Republicans have publicly admitted they want to go to a frankly religio-fascist model. Yuck.
The Democrats as a result have become the reservoir of comparative reason, and really the only gambit to block the Republican program, which I read as an existential threat to a representative government.

More wistfully, I’d like to see a bit more social democracy. Heavier taxation of corporations, but short of the risky step of collectivizing the means of prosperity.

But how to get there from here, (expressive shrug). So for now prudence dictates that I play a defensive game, which is a bit tilting at windmills, since though my state is blue, my district is hopelessly red.

Because I believe that Democrats and Republicans are both beholden to big money donors and they will both always choose billionaires over the working class. Democrats can often be more dangerous than Republicans because they can get anti-worker legislation past their base as long as they're polite about it.

Biden union-busting railroad workers is a PERFECT example of this.
Biden got a shit sandwich with the rail standoff. I hope that when he has the political capital, his administration takes on the glaring unresolved issue of sick days.

It is republicans who oppose labor, where have you been? The government is grid locked for damn near anything and Biden pulled off a fucking miracle to get as much done as he did FFS, who do you want superman? Look in the comics, this is reality.

There is no conspiracy, get rid of republicans for a better life for all Americans. California used to be ungovernable, until they got rid of republicans and their racist baggage, then the place thrived, Arnold was the last republican governor, but he might as well have been a democrat.

Revolutions most often lead to very bad places, America got lucky with theirs, Russia not so much, though Ukraine appears to have done ok, but even there it is an evolutionary process under the rule of law.

I understand republican law needs to be changed and the arbitration process is ongoing I believe, the recent derailments have not helped the company's case. Trump cut the EPA too and gutted it, pollution is a factor in these things too. Was a rail worker and a Union member so I know how it works in Canada and I worked under psycho American managers here too, they were generally scum to a man.

The democrats could have literally done nothing and allowed the workers their right to strike. But they chose to break the strike, denying them their rights.
Balance their right to strike against the need to keep the economy from collapsing. There is a wrong time to strike, and it seems to me that the rail workers were using an oversized gun to e.g. my head to try to break the deadlock with rail capital.

So far I’m getting the impression that for you the worker is not the main thing but the only thing. It’s fruitless to argue against dogma.

If these workers are so essential then treating them fairly is also essential. Yet we don't. And when given a chance to make that right, the Democrats chose the rail bosses over the workers. Same as they always do and always will.
One-sided. I give up.

You completely ignore political reality in order to press your article of faith.
