ich spreche ein wenig deutsch , english and hardly both
English, some Spanish, Navajo, a smattering of Hopi and just enough Zuni to get my ass in trouble. I took German in college. Nicht so gut. That's about it.
English, Czech, Spanish, French, and can understand a lot of others because between the later three there are so many cognates it's crazy. Currently planning on learning mandarin chinese, thai, and either german or russian..maybe both.. I love learning new languages, the only downside is if someone finds out you can speak one that's "different" they're like "zomg! Say something in Czech!" then you make fun of them and they're like "what'd you say!?" "oh uh, I said I like your shirt".
Once you get one language pretty fluent, I recommend spanish or french, it's really easy to start picking up others. It's like activating something in your brain or something. I learned English and Czech at the same time because my parents and grandparents would speak Czech and when I went to school I better learned English. Then took two years of french in highschool and learned the rest on my own, same thing with Spanish after I learned french. Not so good at Spanish, I still don't know what lahada say's most the time.![]()
i watch a lot of formula 1 and it seems all the drivers all speak like 5 languages or so each.. makes me kind of embarrassed to only know the english, plus i love to travel and wish i knew the language of the places i went to instead of trying to get around on english all the time, which just seems kind of ignorant to me for some reason..
May I ask how you learned Navajo
Nah, come on ! Don't be put off! Anyone can learn and all you need is motivation and practice. French and Spanish were a good rec and can be used in various countries worldwide. If you learn Spanish then you can practice on holiday in about 23 countries.
So, Unless you have any high profile track interviews this year I wouldn't be too worried. Unless you're from Belgium for eg then why would you speak 5 languages to a native standard ?![]()
From my family?
Dont mean to ask to many questions .,just knew you couldnt learn this just any where. Would love to learn this language
i just think it's pretty cool to be able to speak more then one tbh lahada.. no pressing reason for me to learn other than self gratification that is.
and lol, i've been to belgium, they spoke mostly french on the pa at the spa franchorchamps circuit... plus they put mayp on the frites, which i thought was a bit odd, but while in rome, i like to do as the romans do, so mayo it was..
i noticed they do the same thing for frites in amsterdam as well, so it must not be all that uncommon.
Ok, it's handy for sure. Especially when reading instructions on packets for eg. I can read whatever rather than looking for the UK Flag depicting English. You can learn anytime you like. I didn't even come here to learn Spanish anyway, it just happened.
If you think mayo on chips is bad then check out our Spanish patatas bravas !! Sadly it's a top ten dish ! And you thought the UK had bad food?? Anyway, nothing is more criminal than the invention of Currywürst, and someone in Germany should be accountable for this totally non Indian piss take sweet curried ketchup!

hey lahada, i just thought of a question for you..
do you think you've picked up any sort of accent being in spain for as long as you have been, or do you feel as i've you've lost any of your british accent at all? i know you just came back to the uk awhile ago, did any of your long time friends feel as if your speech sounded any different now then it used to?
Pollo es bueno, pero la polla ...Even today im careful when I order a chicken sandwich though!!![]()
