Hermie self-pollination seeds?

Hey every1! Well, I'm 40 days into flowering unknown bagseed. About 3-4 weeks into flowering I noticed a lone male flower in th back, already released pollen and was shrivling up. Now a few seeds are poppin up, here and there on a few buds, and I wanted to know if the seeds will be the same strain as the self-pollenated female it came from. I wouldn't mind growing this strain again, if so, should I let it go an extra week to ensure seed maturity? All thoughts are welcome!:joint:
 
From what I understand you have fem seeds man. If you had a female herm that pollinated her self or her sisters Then the seeds will have the same genetics as the mother. Most of the seeds will be female and will grow just fine if you don't stress the plant.

Hell yes I would grow out the seeds.

Wow, so thats how feminized seeds are made? So even though the plant is 1% male/hermie, this won't effect the sex of the seeds? Also should I let the plant go a week extra to ensure seed maturity? Thanx guys, also l'm fairly new to this site, how do i give Rep.?
 
I've experienced the same on two grows of fem w/w. I chopped all the upper buds, but the lower ones seemed to be where most of the seeds were so I let them sit for a couple extra weeks. I've given seeds to two friends & grown out a set myself & all (over 60) were female with two herming late in flower on this last grow. Still killer pot!
 
Thanks Greatwhite. Thats a bad ass female ratio! Did the plants that went hermie have a lot of male flowers or just a few? If so, you can start the whole process over again! lol I've never cloned so its good to have seeds that have a real good chance of being female.

Yeah, I was pleasently shocked to hear/see that they all came out Female. The ones that hermed only had a couple flowers - altho my grow is a closet 2 1/2' x 7' x 8' high and with 10 plants in scrog so you can imagine trying to find anything in that hedge !

Like a needle in a hay stack! lol What kind of lights are you using Greatwhite? I'm actually gonna start an SOG grow myself but not sure how many plants a 400watt HPS will support. Any info?

I started with a 600w HPS and added another at around week two of flower. Just did the Lawnmower man a week ago & yield is substansially more than before - I'll give you a weight when dry but I'm guessing around 2.75 - 3.0 lb.

Interesting, I always assumed hermi x hermi = hermi

I thought you had to pollinate a non hermi female with hermi pollen to get fem seeds.
 
Yeah, breeding is a wierd but interesting thing! So Greatwhite, you had 10 plants under 1 600watt HPS? So a 400watt HPS will probly only support upwards of 4-5 plants? Also, how big can I get my plants in veg. under 4 40watt T12 fluorescent lights? I would go with an MH but I like how fluorescent realy keep the plants small and compact. How long will it take for my plants to reach 2-2 1/2 feet? Thanks Greatwhite, you've been a great help man. Not sure how to give rep. lol

I had 10 plants under 600 HPS for two weeks into flower when I added another. The second one was not truly necessary - I happened to have the $$ handy (and I was stoned on E-bay) so I added. Prior grows were restricted to just the one lamp (M/H in veg & HPS flower) & results were very good, this go-round the buds are larger and not airy at all, just solid.
IMHO you could light my grow area (2.5'x7'x8'H) with the 400 + a light mover - mine is manual (affectionately named the MLM aka Mexican Light Mover), rigged a sliding mount on a piece of pipe & would move the lamp from side to side every couple hours when I was home & it worked well.
I'm unable to help you with the CFL question as I have not grown with them other than for Germ & seedlings. As far as height, again I'm doing things a bit different - I have my screen set @ 29" (to clear my lower fan) & I use M/H to get them there. This last grow the plants went to 6 1/2' & I started sweating it towards the end. Couldn't raise my lighting any higher but it worked out.:hump:

I'm pretty sure that's what happened - to my knowledge only one plant pitched bananas & the other girls "caught",
Hermi + Girl = Girl.
Thats my guess on my limited knowledge of the process.

Are you doing a scrog greatwhite? I'd like to see some of your pictures if I could. Have you posted them in a forum yet?

Yeah, I set my screen @ about 29" & really workem into it for a couple weeks before I shift to fim with weights - I like to veg (M/H) for about 3 mts before 12/12 (HPS) seems to work ok for me & quality is top notch.

Nice setup Greatwhite! Your ladys look real good. Well this is my first grow so just kinda seein if I could do it. I'm gettin a 400watt HPS from HTG Supply. Is this a safe and reliable light supplier? I'm kinda iffy about Ebay. lol Stayin stealth is also why I don't want to use an MH, but HPS is some what neccasary for flowering. If HTG Supply is not the best, does any one have any other reliable sources. Thanks in advance.

This is the light that i got from HTG 400watt HPS but in the options box i chose the cool tube. You can use both MH and HPS bulbs with the digital ballast.

Thanks Purple Stars. Yeah, I'm just getting a standard 400watt HPS, nothin fancy. And I've decided to Veg. with my fluorescent T12's instead of an MH. lol Just iffy about my power consumption. So how long did they take to ship it out? Was it discreet packaging? Just cautious. Thanks in advance.
 
does the "male" flower have a hood or just anthers? there is a big diff. if just anthers don't worry it's not hermie.
it doesnt sound like tokers plant is a hermie just cuz there is sum pollen. a few thing can cause female pollen.

if u wana make feminized seeds just turn on ur lights in the middle of the dark period during the last few weeks of flowering.
this will cause your female to produce female pollen due to light poisoning, collect that pollen then later u can brush it on what ever bud u want to have seeds on and the rest will be sensamilla.

there will be no males becuase they is only a y chromison. :P
