well in your situation , it was the stress that caused the hermie. that is a generic way to get female seeds is just to stress them out to the point they spit out seeds. those seeds may or may not be good.

i have only delt with a dozen hermies (all from the internet) and the ones ive seen dont have "pollen balls" or nothin , just banana lookin things.... and they dont bust open the same as a pollen ball, so definatly clean your flower room , but dont worry about the pollen too much ..... its not in the air or anything.

There is no way to say this without offending you, so I'll be blunt. There is a LOT you don't know. I kept my mouth shut last week when you advised someone with nutrient burned plants to feed them more, but to say pollen does not go airborn is ridiculous.

wheels seems to know a lil more bout seeds an hermies then i do .... so he might confirm what i just said ?

see i got decades of knowledge under the belt , but still dont know shit about hermies or seeds.... theres ALWAYS more to learn ;-)

Last week I didn't say anything when you advised someone with nutrient burned plants to feed them more. But now you are giving hermaphrodite advise based upon your "internet experience".

Could you please not do this.

you need to re-read the post.

where did you get that from ?

i made it very clear i have only delt with a dozen hermies. (seeds from the net !)
i also made it very clear that i dont know shit about hermies OR seeds. i do mothers.
i also made it very clear that wheels or someone like you would know a lot more about this then me.

let me re-write the same danm words...... the hermies i have delt with have only had bananas on them and not actual "male balls" so it did not go airborn and hurt any of the females. if you sqeeze the banana then its got the texture of say a soft nut? i dont know but its nothing like a real male ball where if you touch it , the whole room is fucked. thats MY limited experience.

if you know something or have an opinion then just jump in and join the crowd ..... dont just read the 2 lines you dont like and make yourself look childish with a rude post.

now then take me back to the "nute burn" ... a subject i do know about. ?

now now boys. yeah bag seeds tend to be hermie. its stuck in the genetics. altho every now and then u get lucky with a bag seed or two. but it has been a rarety for me to get a true female from bag seed. i usually get what looks female then gives me a gaga instead of a beyonce. lol. but if it only hermies slightly i pull the male preflowers off and just start to finish them 12/12 remember to check daily for more male preflowers. 12/12s stay smaller and if it hermies its easier to deal with. less of a plant is always easier to deal with instead of monsters. i try to avoid growing anything taller than 3 or 4 feet after the stretch. makes it easier for me to spot problems on a bunch of smaller plants then it is two big ass half pounders. plus if one gets bugs and u notice it before it spreads u can quarenteen "cant remember how its spelled. lol." that one plant instead of battling with the two infected monsters and trying to still get a good harvest. as for pollin. if u catch a male or hermie soon enough u can 86 them before the sacks explode. u may still end up with a few seeds if u flower a small hermie plant as long as u check it daily and pull the male flowers off carefully. lol. some male preflowers on some strains can be mature within days and potentially pollinate others. some may take longer. hermies suck. truthfully u would be better off ordering reg seeds from a seed bank and letting the best male and females get it on. u will have a grip of seeds and u wont have to worry about them turning gaga on u. if one happens to be a male after u plant the seeds toss it and just toss another in its place. im not a fan of fem seeds from seed banks either. just becuz of the fact they have more potential to hermie than reg seeds. unless u get an absolutely bangin breeder for them. but thats the fem seeds that cost a grip. im high and have to feed my babies. ill check this in a few minutes when im less baked to make sure im not giving out screwy info. lol. got on a rant and rave trip. gotta water. ill be back.

Yeah this one has yellow bananas everywhere along with nice frosty buds and seeds too.. I will let it continue on and see what comes of it. I will try and post a couple of pictures of it later.

Here are a couple of pics of my new grow, these are 12 days old from breaking soil.

Don't worry about it too much. You're just getting some experience with nanners. I've been searching nanners for freakin' weeks now. Driving me crazy the little sons of bitches!

well guys, I made the round robin trip to several grow shops looking for the items I needed for my soil mix and didnt have much luck.

I was able to come up with the following items.

2 Bags of roots organic soil
20# worm castings
2.2# Jamican Bat guano
32qt bag of Premier shrimp compost (don't know if I should use it or can use it but they thru it in for free)
1 bag of Algamin Kelp meal (another freebie the store thru in for free)
Along with the Freebies they also gave me a 15% discount on EVERYTHING else that I bought today, which I think was pretty cool.

How should I mix this (at what ratios?)
Is this enough to make it thru a grow?
What else do I need to add to this if anything so I dont have to do a lot of amendments later on?
Thanks for the help.

Did you create a thread in the 'organics' section asking about your mix? Waiting for someone to stumble across this is pointless.

you forgot the perlite , i know your store has perlite.

roots organic is a very rich and good soil. i wouldnt add much to it right away. it could use some perlite to loosen it up and a lil kelp because you have it , but other then that , it is very good and rich the way it is.

you did good at the store and you will use every bit of your supplies. i paid 20 bucks for a small bag of kelp meal!

if i was you , i would run that soil with some perlite an a tsp of kelp per gallon of mix, and then when the cycles are over , add some of your amendments then re-use it. there is no reason to throw that good soil away.

that soil , depending on how your species feeds , should last you 3-6 weeks with no food. mix it up real good and add some moisture ( a lil bit of molasses in the water would help to speed up the biology of the dirt. a tbs per gallon) .... you dont want it soaked , just moist ..... then mix it up more , every couple days to keep the aeration real good until your ready to use.

if it was used soil i would say to mix it and stir it , but not use it for a couple weeks first , but this is new dirt and i know your ready , so just mix an use if you need to.

I wrote a better post then this but lost it :cuss:...... the cotten candy will calm me down bongsmilie

One question I have is when I transplant, Do I need a "Buffer Zone" around my transplants For the roots to grow into the "New Soil"??? or is this soil not that "hot"???

You'll need some peat or a LOT of perlite...worm castings create very heavy soil.

Well guys, This is what I went with for a soil Mix.
1 bag (1.5 Cu.Ft.) Roots Organic Soil
1 Gal. Premier Peat Shrimp Compost
1 Gal. Perlite
1 Cup Sunleaves Jamican Bat Guano (1-10-1)
1 cup Algiman Kelp Meal (1-0-1)
1 Cup Epsoma Lime
4 Cups Black worm castings (1-05-.2) (Must have fresh stuff as there were a few live worms in the bag)

I know this may not be exactly how "Everyone" said to mix it up but I took ALL the info I received and made "MY" mix. Could be like shooting yourself in the foot but what the hell, How do we learn if we dont try. Who knows this mix May be a good banging mix OR could be shit and kill my girls. Time will tell.
Here are a couple of pictures of the girls in there final home. I would like to thank everyone that has helped me out and the advise and pointers you have gave me. Its greatly appreciated.
I will be updating my journal as often as I can, Anyone that would like to come along for the ride on this grow please feel free to visit my journal in my signature. I will be only be posting back here should I have any plant issues.
Thanks again everyone!!!!New home.jpgTransplanted 1-6-12.jpgTransplant 1-6-12.jpg

i like your mix a lot. it should do you great. IF its too hot , then yes its better to let the roots growinto the new food on their own.

since you didnt "cook" your mix , it wont be as hot as it could be. it is hot though.

if i was you i woulda put a higher N guano in with the jamacian guano so the numbers are more balanced. (like half a cup of the higher n an a half a cup of the jamican.) other then that your mix is great.
