Alright my fellow pot lovers i got a batch of girls that im gonna use for making cannabutter, gonna trow whole plant in there, stems, leafs and buds The question is: right after chopping em down do they still need to go through the drying and curing process ? Anyones thoughts on this is welcome and anyone sharing experience is thanked in advance,
In my case i thought maybe i can just chop it down and trow it in the pot with the butter, my second thought was to just letit ddry some but without the need to cure,

you should remove all fan leaves and stems because these provide no positive effect while providing extra negative taste. you can make it immediately no reason to allow it to dry but you can if you want to i guess. also i would pull the buds apart a bit into small pieces

also have to add i would totally not suggest doing this!! you risk screwing up and losing your hard work plus its really not worth using buds to make stuff liek this..or at least if you must make butter out of buds not just trim maybe split it up into smaller batches.

you're probably right about the taste when adding the stems, ive did a batch of cannabutter before with stems and fan leaves ad some trim, the taste was strong but still got us high, my reason for doing this this time is, i gave my first try at hydro...lets just say it didnt come out too well ended up with small buds but thc trichomes everywhere all up the stems and fan leafs, another thought i had of doings this is to peal off all these crystal into the simmering pot

Whether making edibles or hash its up to the individual would they rather smoke or eat it but either way is a great way to not waste your trim/popcorn.

well then i would still make hash and then make the edibles from the hash...throwing a whole plant into butter is not appetizing to me thats kind of my main point lol

I only use sugar leaf so I understand your point but making hash before seems like a whole lot of unnecessary pain in the butt if edibles is your final product. I let me sugar leaf and popcorn get bone dry then briefly powder them in a coffee grinder. This increases the surface area to the butter making extraction easier and once it is in powder there is very little physical matter in the edibles if any. If the OP is still going to use stems and stuff then yes I would agree with you on making hash first.

ya i agree its quite a process for some edibles but thats why i personally would stop at the hash lol but i guess if i really wanted butter i would probably just split it into two batches of different grades and then you at least have one piece of butter that will be a little stronger and taste a little better and the other probably a good addition to smoking or a light buzz..i dont think id go through all the trouble either of double refining..unless i had huge crops where i didnt care to get "everything" out then id dry ice sieve since that would be relatively easy and make butter from the dry hash.

im no ganja butter master only done that a fewe times btw...for all i know the taste will be affected so little its no big deal just the idea of adding stalks and fan leaves, again, just doesnt sound appetizing lol..i already dont really like the infused weed flavor of cookies or w/e made with all sugar leaves so maybe thats just me

You can water cure it before using for cannabutter, otherwise I'd at least separate the buds and best trimmings from the leaves because it does taste awful :((

If you still have a bad taste you can further steep it further in a crock pot on low with some water or in a pot lowest setting but you may need to add water if you don't cover

further steep it further..haha pothead loljk....i would worry about steeping and pouring water out once you add heat because even though thc is fat soluble the glands will still melt into the water and you will be pouring some out! any thoughts on that?! also if you dont pour it out the water will evaporate and whats left will actually be a higher concentration green taste than you started with! am i thinking about this wrong?
