Growing in unheated garage

Haha ya wouldn't the heavy black plastic plant saucers work...hahahaha. an item every grower uses.
Hell yea those things are the best, they let your fabric pot evenly dry out. A lot of the time the bottom of the pot is just sitting in a little pool of nasty water, gotta raise that shit up.

I was just emptying mine after watering I try to empty the runoff especially when I'm running just straight r/o water with calmag.

I'm near the New England coast in a big old house that I heat about half of so I can tell you something about weather extremes and what we do here to get by, good luck to the folks who have the perfect growing environment, I used to as well when I lived in my new townhouse, but life right LOL

You do what you got to do, I've got almost what you said going on, I've got the radiator heater, the inkbird going on & it's so nice in my tent I would like to put my beach chair in there for the next 4 months! (and when both lights are on they vent into and help heat my bedroom too lol). Best thing to add is the big styrofoam squares I mentioned back on page one, they make a big difference for your root zone, good luck

So my tent is in an unheated garage with a concrete floor. It's getting below freezing outside at night and really cold in the garage. Setting the plants on the bottom of the tent isn't good because they are basically sitting on cold concrete.

I put a floor on the bottom of my tent to keep the plants off of the cold concrete.
I didn't have any insulating material when I did this but I'm going to get some and use it as well. But for now it's better than the way it was.

Just a couple 8' 1" x 2" cut in half.

Two pieces of plywood 2' x 4' with the corners cut out so they fit. Insulating material should go in before these.

I covered it with another layer of plastic just because.

And threw the liner that came with the tent in.

Gotta have a heater. I said it was cold.

I'm still going to put some insulation down under the plywood and then probably a piece of that 1" 4' x 8' styrofoam sheeting or whatever it's called. I'm keeping the tent above 65 F but growing in fabric pots sitting on really cold ground is not good. This should solve that problem.

I was going to put in a heated floor this year but never got around to it. That's something I might do after Thanksgiving.
Hello xtsho i grow in a cold basement, and recently, i put a styrofoam under the pots to ensure the roots are not cold. Now the temperature around the root zone is 60f-66f) How much watts does your oil radiator use? i see some models have the option to change wattage depending on your needs.
