wow what an amazing thread thanks so much for the awesome idea DrGreenFinger. Im on a simple ebb/flow system right now and its working great but this just looks like so much fun to build and then i wouldnt have to worry about having two tubs i love it. hope you enjoyed the experience and I'll be waiting for future findings.

Wow! Perfect! I am building a couple o tubs right now! So the lights? Stick with the 1 1000w HPS for 2 tubs, or 2 600w? I got the 400w MH and CFL's for Veg. That should be enough, oh yes, and should the tub be filled about 1/2 way water + Nutes? And How often should i take everything out and clean, I am a pretty big neat freak with my setups, i might go alittle overkill... Other than that, AMAZING! Thanx so much to all the peeps, SOLID! The photos, the Setup, the Replies, ALL GOLD! thanx kindly - Cheers

Man i seriously think you harvested too early... the leaves didnt even turn yet...
and hairs didnt turn brown yet either...

What kind of nutes did you use?
How far was your light?
Was it 400w HPS PER system?

i just visited a new (to me) shop yesterday, and after talking to a very experienced grower i am seriously considering ebb and flow. two main reasons have me second guessing aero. first, roots should cycle between wet and dry (aero was initially designed for seeds and cuttings). second, it is so much easier to work with a seperate res. :peace:

of course, 2-600's will be better than 1-1k. i think 1k would do great, especially in close quarters. i filled the tub with 20-25 gal. it is suggested that hydro units recieve thorough flushing every two weeks (i think i flushed 3 times, but in the see more buds vid most of his tables were never flushed). clean between grows.:peace:

all of this is covered in the thread.

but, i will reiterate the fact that you get the most accurate view in the pics with blue lighting (only 1 or 2). you can see many red hairs in one. red light is horrible. also, it is imperative to use a scope to determine harvest time. calculating red hair percentage is useless. you must view the trichs through the scope. i don't want to ruin the soaring buzz of my sativa (its why i love sativa) by letting the thc develop/degrade to the point of couch-lock because i gauged by red hairs. im am still stoned from my last smoke (hrs ago), and i am as energized as ever.

when i grow indica i let it go 'til about 80-85% red hairs, but i am still using my scope to gauge ripeness according to trichome development. it's the only way. :peace:

very nice drgreenfinger..im thinking of makeing two of these, they whould do great in my tent with the 1000watt..the only change i whould make whould be to rise the tubs on a table and have them drain in to a seperate res,i think that whould stop the pump from pluging and whould give more room for the roots..any input on this??...thanks for the info.. so after seeing how this grow has progressed, I am making one also, but I will be doing it on a much more micro grow. (2) 15"x15" areas, perpetual harvest. I'll probably throw up a guide and detail it once I start making it.

i was also inspired by the vid seemorebuds so also built my own hopefully would have pics up 2morrow. if you guys have a walmart around they should have these yellow and black tubs i forgot how many gallons cause its in the closet doing its thing now. but its 19.98 and the lids has like 24 squares on them where you could drill ur 2in holes. and i use a 2in holesaw which fits perfectly and perfect holes aswell. oh and if you cant get those red misters in your pvc pipe get a 5mm tap to make some threads, after you drill the hole to the pipe. oh almost forgot the buckets are not in the rubbermaid bucket section but maybe at ur local walmart it might but i found minds at the car section. by the way no leaks cause that was really my mane concern

A really decent res chiller can be made from a bar fridge and as much non-copper tubing you can coil inside it.. Just drill 2 holes right through the door and caulk them around the tubing.. If I can stress one thing its that frozen 2L bottles etc are a losing battle, you need active cooling..
Well maybe one of those 15L waterjugs can last a day frozen in heated water, I dunno..

Edit: Incase it isn't obvious, a pump goes on one end of that tubing from the res, and the other end returns it..
