I created the airbasket idea.
Look in the below link in my sig for pics and details.
A large stiff bath sponge works much better than an airstone because the roots grow into the sponge and the sponge also holds nutes and water and gives a much more even distibution of small air bubbles over a wider area acting asimilar to a lung:blsmoke:

I grow six plants under each 600 watt light. They veg for quite a while, but they're vegging while the previous crop is flowering, so there's no time lost. I use cabinets that are about 48 inches wide, 40 inches deep, and 6 feet tall. 0.75 grams per watt, under 600 watts, is about a pound, and that's about what I usually get. Depends on the strain, obviously; some are better yielders than others. I have two of those cabinets (plus a smaller 400 watt cabinet), and get around 2.5 pounds per full cycle of all three cabinets.

The way I understand it if you can get 1/2 gram dry for each Watt, it's considered a good grow. It's not the number of plants, it's the space that the plants use that's important.

Hi fellow ganga bro's ............ I have a 4x4 ebb & flow ......... a 1000 watt MH electronic with Sunmaster warm delux. Mixing NL5 with Belladonna, Afghani Delight strains and i'm averaging 1.5 gms per watt dry. Happy days

This guy hit it on the head.

If you fill up the alotted space under your light you can easily get 1 gram per watt.....of course you need very good conditions.

You can do this many ways with a different amount of plants.

Let's use a 1000 watt as an example. With proper reflection in an enclosed area the light will cover a good 5 x 5 area max. You can put 4 wide ass bushes under it in 7 gallon pots.....or you can go sea of green and use 25 single cola plants in 2 gallon pots.

The idea is to use ALL of the area under the light. Make sure your plants grow into an even canopy under the light and cut off all branches that don't make it. If all the branches are within 12" in height of each other you got it made. A 1000 watt will penetrate deeply enough so the whole canopy grows evenly (if using clones).

Scared of getting caught with a lot of plants? Grow 4 giant 2' tall by 2' wide bushes and put them under a 1000 watt hps. If done right with proper care and maintenance you will get at least a pound.

That's .5 grams a watt. You can do this with your eyes closed. A semi pro can get 2 pounds out of 4 plants like that....probably more.

Remember this...an even canopy will grow huge colas in abundance because they are all getting major light. Try it...you may like it.

This also goes for the 600 watt ( 4' x 4') and 400 watt (3' x 3') hps lights. Use your area right, feed em, water em and keep it clean and you can do this with ease.

Now you may go and say to yourself "Wow, this guy hardly posts. What could he know?"

A lot more than you may think :blsmoke:

400 watt MH/HPS, 250gm dried bud, .63gms/watt, White Widow, 5.2 sq. ft.= 1.75 oz./sq. ft., SCROG, three plants, vegged approx. 7 weeks, flowered 9-9.5 weeks, stealth closet grow. FF ocean forest soil. FF and GH nutes

This present grow will be ICE, WW and blueberry in a SOG, same grow space. Shooting for 8 flowering plants in 5 sq. ft( lil tight maybe?). Will start flowering at 4 wks from seed and then a perpetual harvest for a while.

SO..... goal is 1.5 oz./plant in this size grow area, single cola plants. Anybody out there have any tips to attain this goal?

Peace

I screw around, sometimes run 6 hours light / 18 hours dark with 23 moderate yield strains in a continuous grow and average around 3 cured litres (25% of clipped weight) per bucket, 12 buckets under a 600 watt light. Averages around 3.8 cured grams per watt, all documented with pictures that span years in the Grow Lab thread below. I'm currently building a custom LED flowering light with an elliptical trough reflector - it will be the first powerful LED flowering light. Ever I believe.

I'm summarizing my technologies in a second video where I will use a maximum output 300 watt light to produce 3000 grams of 4 week cured bud over a continuous grow, using my current strains and other conditions. Nothing special. Get a peak quick, I don't expect my threads to be on this forum much longer as I do not believe the RUI staff want this type of work on their forum - I have emailed someone once or twice a week for simple help for the past 6 weeks with no response, I think they've made their intentions clear.

The thread is organized in a pictorial ebook, there are simple techniques and technologies in Weed Science that can double your yield overnight for novice and intermediate growers, the ebook download is free. If you already know everything there's nothing that I can do to help you.

My technique and most of my technology are illustrated in the video Only In Dreams, linked below.
