was more talking aout street but ether way wasnt tryin to be shitty just doesnt sound right when both the patient and caregiver are giving and getting and its starting to sound like patients are some freeloaders when the caregiver is also benifiting from the agreement. but again not trying to be shitty.
Its all good bro, no hard feelings.

1000 a month to sustain your grow op? thats sounds like a little much to me. you got 8 lights going or something?
I had a very large indoor op here, and 72 was the average. I am strictly old school organic. Try hustling Rabbit poo from 4 different breeders a hundred miles apart, driving 90 mi to get EWC in bulk, collecting egg shells and coffee grounds from 2 restaraunts, making bio-char, composting, mixing soil, etc. I KNOW what it costs to do what you do. And I do that for well under a grand per. And you don't have to worry about the DTF busting your door down. Yes, this is a skill, and your time is worth good money, but damn. You get to keep the yield of 60 frigging plants!!!! Min of 4 zips per plant, that's good money even at Cali prices. I'd have to be better to people than that.

as a caregiver i have never had a patient say hey ill front you all this equipment to get you started or hey wanna split the electric bills and nutrients or how about offer to trim NOPE not yet.i have weeded out some patientsi have good ones now all there needs are different so every deal is different.just remember its hypocritical that we even have to see a doctor for the use of a plant there is nothing wrong with making a living at what you do.the guy with his money invested in equipment and time in the garden deserves to be paid for his work if it could be done outdoors no scrutiny and with ease everyone would do it.that said my word is my bond and i have had some catastrophic shit happen called life it always gets in the way of the dream

and you wont because its your equipment and your bill and im sure you have more than 1 patient so the costs arnt all for 1 patient. you deserve compensation thats why you keep the rest to make up that cost.

2oz 1 plant easy gives you at least 5 more plants to make up time and costs quit crying.and alot of us grow here so you cant bs about the costs to grow if you cant do the deal dont make it.

thats sweet and all but i think you misconstrued my post about my grow operation, people questioned how much money goes into a grow op, i told them. i give my patients there meds on time every time. i dont bitch about it because it is what i gotta do to do what i love to do... i just dont appreciate them coming back a week later(after they sold it) asking for more free meds... i pay for my patients renewal cards and paid for their original docs appointment and their follow up appointments. i feel as though you are quite salty today

as far as the 1000. electricity aint cheap, i have 4 1000w lights goin and they eat alot of electricity. Im still learning so im using alot of nutes and still buying new equipment(pots, soil, pandafilm, etc). As i get more experienced, that number may go down, but right now its expensive.

So your patients not only pay for your equipment, they also pay for any possible learning curves you may have.. But no shit though...

in my mind if they are willing to be your patient they know you probably can grow better than they could.

im sorry....but if ur growin for me....using my count for ur own profit im not goin to pay u an additional dime.....id take it somewhere else.....to the op sry im not in ur area id help u out.....im one of those rare ppl who just enjoys watching the grass grow......boost my numbers and id absolutely compensate you with what your help yielded
posts like this make me think most people have the underpants gnomes view on how a caregiver operates- step one....get patients....step 2 ....? step 3 PROFIT!!!!!! There is no requireement to add plants to stay at the top of your plant count. it's actually smart if you're well under in case of trouble with cops. Patients think cuz we got numbers we're automatically rich and jerks for not dumping free pot on them. I'm not talking all of them-I got great patients but I hear alot of sounding off from turds on here. You all know you can go to the dispensary and pay top dollar if you don't want to deal wth caregivers. They are 100% open here in jacktown and we're political assholes here so I know you can find them elsewhere if you look. I've yet to hear a sound explaination as to how a signature on a piece of paper makes growing cheaper and easer for anyone. randomhero1 has it nailed down pretty good. growers went through growing pains when they started and it costs money and time and all that. classes are now offered on growing and guess what......THEY CHARGE ME TO ATTEND!!!!!!! yeah, nothing free at all, guy talks and I pay. I'd feel like an a-hole not paying for the time and knowledge he is dropping on me so .........what part of decency and a good upbringing are YOU missing that you talk shit about not getting something for nothing? I've read LOTS of arguments and remain open to discussion but I haven't yet found an argument for free weed that didn't make my blood boil at some point. If you can get to your car, drive it to meet me and light a bong it's 99% likely you CAN grow for yourself. That cat that started oaksterdam doesn't have an easy time getting around at all and instead of crying at caregivers he took action and not only is his pot free now but he runs a whole damn block of stores and grow-ops and shit so don't sell yourselves short do it yourself or shut up about the costs.

Usually if someone offers you free weed every month they're going to rip you off. Almost every time I hear of a patient getting screwed over it's because they went with some magical caregiver who was going to give them half their plants for free or something crazy like that. You need to make a realistic decision and know when someone's blowing smoke up your ass.

I'll tell you what, I only grow for myself and one patient and no way in hell would I give out free meds, well unless someone was truly disabled and couldn't grow for themselves. I added up all the hours I had in for my last crop and the actual money I came away with and it came up at like $5 an hour.

I'm sorry but that's just not worth it to me, if the person I'm growing for wasn't family than I would've already dropped his ass and just grown for myself. I think it's ridiculous when people sit here and talk like caregivers are getting rich off of them. I could've made more money working at burger king.

People don't understand how much easier it is to just get a caregiver and pay their $200-250 an ounce and be happy. In fact I'm thinking about quitting growing and just getting a caregiver with reasonable prices. It would save me a shitload of work and constantly worrying and it would also save me a bunch of money every month that I don't have. Not to mention the time I would save I could actually go live my life rather than be stuck in a grow room all day.

THANK YOU! Thank you so much for dropping some truth on here brother! I did exactly the same thing and 5$/hour is about right. I take it because I have love for what I do and the people I do it for. That is exactly why I sound like a lunatic going off on a nut when I reply on here about the free weed thing-it aint and I bust balls doing this thing I love to help others when I could just go solo and laugh at them. Thanks again for injecting some truth into this forum cuz the fairy tales and altruistic bullshitters are as deep as the bullshit in here sometimes.

I want to say in addition to all my venemous posts that I accept my 5$/hour labor with a smile because I LOVE what I do. I know everyone else making 5$/hour is probably working a McDonalds and hate their job while I love mine. What I really want to convey is that free is not good. it destroys incentive for a grower to reach for the sky and do his best for you. Every position in the health care field aside from the obvious candy striper and other volunteers is a paid position and for the most part well-paid. I think "medical marihuana" as a medicine should not be held as this red-headed step-child of the health care system that has no worth and believe me what you're saying to your caregver when you want more free meds, or free meds at all is that his/her meds aren't worth anything to you. Is that really how you feel? The cannabis medicine you get monthly is worth nothing to you, exactly 0 dollars and 0 cents? I don't think so, I see greed on both sides when I hear free anything. compensation could be a hot meal, a pack of papers, a bowl, a pack of my fav nutes but free and for nothing? I would take on an elderly person on sos in a heartbeat and take a hot meal compensation for a zip/month all day every day but to say its worth nothing gets my passionate side going.....as you can see.

Honestly, now that I know how the caregiver side goes I would never accept free meds from anyone, I just wouldn't feel right about it unless I was absolutely down and out, dirt poor. Don't get me wrong, I'll donate meds for free if I see someone really in need but I just can't afford to do it on a regular basis because everything costs so much and there's so much time involved.

When I got into it I figured I'd do it so that I didn't have to buy from a dispensary or caregiver but I didn't see the true costs behind growing that I think most people don't see either. There's always something I need to buy, almost evey day. Not to mention the time I spend in the grow room has a pretty negative effect on my social life since I'm always doing some kind of gardening.

I'm not complaining, I'm just giving my opinion of what a caregiver has to sacrifice to bring good meds to people that are too lazy to learn how or too cheap to pay the bills or even compensate you for producing their meds for them. Like I said before, if someone is disabled and cant grow, obviously I understand that and will go very far out of my way to help that person out of my own pocket.

There's a line between being compassionate and throwing your own money down the toilet and paying for everyone else's meds.
