It took long enough, but the lows in the 60's got here this week. {Sister said it was 62F at her house one morning} I slept out most of the week and I did use my sleeping bag toward daybreak one morning. Had to get into it about midnight the next night.

At 1525 it's fair, 90F with 49% humidity. Forecast high low of 91/68F with 10% chance of rain. 10 day high low of 91/62F with 6 days of possible rain.

How's everything down there Larry? I saw a blurb about evacuations taking place in Florida. Hope you and your's are alright.
I hear it is crazy at all the big box hardware and grocery stores, especially down in Panama City. I was planning on running down there this morning to pick up that light. But when I called Lowe's to make sure it was there, they couldn't find it. So that saved me an ordeal.

We are having a little wind, but that's it so far. I'm about an hour inland, so twisters are what we worry about. Most of the evacuations will be for storm surge. Because of the shape of the bays, St Joe and Appalachia are both bad to flood even in small storms.

The last one to real put a hurting on us was Opel in October of 95. It got up to a Cat 4, but had weakened to a Cat 3 when it came ashore near Pensacola. That one still caused major damage in Panama City. This one looks to be heading right for Panama City as a Cat 3 or 4.

I worked down at the graveyard this morning, cutting oaks that had grown up in the cedars and cypress trees. The wind was hard enough to move some of the smaller bushes around. I had planned to get back after lunch to pile them so they didn't wind up on the road, but I napped instead. . . . . I'll try to get them cleaned up in the morning.

At 1615 it's partly cloudy, 83F with 3 mph winds out of the ENE. Forecast high low of 88/74F with 20% chance of rain tonight. 10 day high low of ??/?? with ???? days of possible rain. {wunderground is showing it's ass}

Here is some good storm reading.

Y'all be safe. Hurricanes have a bad way of encouraging complacency...

Frost Advisory along the Wisconsin coast of Lake Michigan. Freeze warning in counties inland. Lows in the mid 30s for me the next 2 nights. Girls are watered and fed and ready for the chill!
