so the substrate was definitely dry, i have a two prong moisture meter and it was in the res with all of the plants, so i made a very loght nute solution with the bio canna

2.5ml vege
2.5 ml rhizo
cal/mg enriched RO
mixed nute solution phed to 5.8
ppm 411
also sprinkled a half teaspoon of this stuff over the medium

gave enough water to each plant to cause tiny but of runoff.
i swear they already look lik they perked up within an hour. i also messed with the ducting to give the fan more of a clear path to vent air out so hopefully that will help with the heat. once it cools down outside i am hoping i wont have any heat issues at all. also going to get some myrhozzuc or something like that for my soil, been reading someones post about what to add to canna terra pro plus

i bought a bottle of em-1 microbial stuff, how do i use this? the guy at the grow store said to add it AFTER i mix and ph my nutes, effectively making phing the water worthless, so whats the real deal with this shit?

Hi mate. I'm new here but I've fiddled with plants for years.

To me your seedlings look like they are just starving for light. I'd say you have enough wattage but how close are the lights to the plants? I don't have much experience with leds but couple of cfl's should be enough for those seedlings at this point imo. So I would take the cfl's pretty close like 4 inches or even less, and CAREFULLY lower the led a little, monitoring the plants each day.

Then I'd recommend that you always water the plants by soaking the cup/pot whatever in a bigger container filled with water (and nutes). Keep it soaking for 5-10 minutes until it feels heavy, then don't water again until it feels light again. That sized seedlings I would only fertilize like once a week, or every other watering with a half-strenght nute mix.

And one more thought,do you have a desktop fan or something blowing on the plants? That's very important as it helps them grow stronger overall. A nice light breeze over their heads is enough, don't go overboard with this either ;)

i started with the led lower, im pretty sure they have more than enpugh light, i was more worried about too much light at the young stage, if you see my pics i have the two cfls hanging on the sides with the led overhead.

Oh yes I see them know. And you have a fan there too. I'd move the fluoros at least twice closer, and try to move the fan so it provides a little air movement to the seedlings too (now it's more like just fanning the led, yes?).

yes it is, when i look inside the tent when its seled there is movement, i have another fan directly blowing upward, 2 fans and the inline fan up top all running, i had a really hard time getting those hanging ones where they are, i think the led is more than enough now. back in my OP i started the grow with a super crappy 100watt “grow led” i think thats why the older ones stretched. i got the cfls the day before i got the viparspectra thats there now. its at 36” above the plants running on blue and wite switch

i watered them last night with a 400 ppm phed nute juice, going to wait 2 full days to water again so i know its completely dry, i have ridges on the small plants whats that all about?

looks like i have to water the canna terra ro once a day, im finding the groove

actually this is the one with the ridges i was talking about

we have had a hot spell this last few days, my tenps have been running around 82-83, i have held my hand next to the plants and it seems fine though, does wverything look ok? any thoughts?

also i need some help ising this stuff called EM-1, how do i apply this stuff? i also got some great white for when i transplant next, and also got a mineral mix (these are all supplements i read that need to be added to canna terra and using bio canna as referred in this post —

Well the middle one is a bit lanky, it's not getting enough light I'd say. The "stretching" happens when you flip the light cycle to 12/12.

i have an extremely limited grow space, i dont have the extra space for the ducting for an hid though... im already battling temps, i already returned the vipraspectra, and the platinum led will be here on thursday. i am going to buy an hid, im not on any type of budget, but i want an led as well. this is supposed to be essentially a practice run at my own place, going to start an actual room/house once i get the process down. my intention in the long run is to have a quality led for my house, because of the heat and “stealth” aspect of it and when i can be somewhat comfortable at what im doing here, translate that into running hid at the house i set up

I think the light and what your doing was good mate stretch happens sometimes don’t mean shit have look at some grow journals on here they no different. It was worth upgrading your light but the one you had would have been ok for first time. Keep posting stuff man that’s what it’s all about :bigjoint:

well looks like they are coming into it, tomorrow going to switch back to the flourscents for probably about 24hrs till the light gets here. hopefully they wont get too stressed about the light change but theyll love it and ill get rid of the cfls when the platinum is here

when the winter comes ill switch to hid, itll be cold enough then, so ill have an led for summer hid for winter and can have experience with both
