I don't know where Ontario falls in all that but your alright by me and "me" is all I'm worried about, lol
Lol, yeah there's good folks in Ontario, everywhere, just have to sift through and find like-minded people wherever you go ;)

That's a good summary! lol

Neufies are great. They kinda talk like pirates though. :-)
Lol I have a pirate next door, great guy but can't understand a damn word once he has a few ;)

Hey sto glad you stopped in here - thanks for all the tips I'll def keep them in mind. So the cover crops are beneficial to the soil web n don't compete with your plants? Also do you worry at all about the previous plants' roots rotting n affecting the new clone or is there some preventative step you've taken in that regard? Sorry if any of this is like abc s to you guys, every time I think I know a thing or 2 about growing I come on here and realize how much of a novice I really am lol.
The cover crops seem to be nothing but beneficial. I had that same hesitation the first time I tried it, but other folks with a much better grasp on this than I reassured me..... and they were right. They eventually get shaded out and either lay down, or get chopped down and turn in to a real nice layer of humus and serve as a good mulch too.

The root ball will degrade over time, and is eventually consumed by microbes. I use a small-ish container for no-till, so I leave my buckets fallow for a few weeks before sticking a new clone in (may not be necessary, but makes sense in my melon). I chop the old plant down, top dress some dry amendments, lay down a 50/50 layer of new soil and castings, and then sprinkle some cover crop seeds. You would think that the old root ball would hinder the new plants growth, but it just plugs right in to that network of mycorrhizal hyphae and takes off.

That is amazing...really. I know a lot of people get into the hydro and the newest lights, newest tech, w.e, but nature / organics intrigues me a lot more. The balance of biology and the way everything just seems to fit together is fascinating. It seems like the only thing out of sync with the balance of nature here on earth is us. Intelligence is overrated - bacteria and plant roots having a symbiotic mutualistic relationship on the other hand...that shit is cool 8)

Okay homies and homettes and whatever else lurks on this forum - I know I was kinda boasting about the sweet black angel becoming a frosty lil bitch, but I took a closer look at GG #3 and I think she'll give the SBA a run for her money in the frost department. The leaves on that one are significantly smaller (both in length and width) so it didn't stand out to me as much, but on a closer inspection I noticed that thing is just caked with trichs. I know it's a little premature to be certain, but it's looking like the buds will be fairly smaller on GG #3 than on GG #1 and the SBA - overall those 2 are just bigger plants in general, and they are throwing out pretty fat pom poms already. The GG #3 has a lot more branches / offshoots but they're all definitely smaller and a little more sporadic on the bud sites. If I had to guess, GG #3 will be some bomb smoke but on the lower yielding side of things like polo was mentioning about the Tijuana. Just hope it doesn't have nearly as long of a flowering period as his haze does lol >D

GG #1 and the SBA will definitely be the top yielders in the tent. It's almost guaranteed. Unless GG #3 decides to absolutely blow my mind in the coming weeks with rapid flower production, it just isn't going to produce like those 2. They do say good things come in small packages tho so fingers crossed (seem to do that a lot lately?).

Anyyyways....Most of this is just speculation, but there's nothing left to do as far as training so all I can do now is to wait, water and observe - sooooo expect a lot more...speculation o_O (and pics?)

BTW the clawing is starting to fade off and the leaves still look good on GG #1. I cut one off like @Sativied suggested and brought it into normal light - it's got what I consider a 'healthy' green look to it. Slightly dark green, but not overly dark if that makes sense...About half of the leaves that were clawing are now straightened out and starting to fatten up (don't know what was up with that lankkky skinny growth there for a while - maybe that's an effect of too much N as well?) so I think everything is on track for a relatively vigorous / healthy flowering cycle. I'm getting way too excited about this run. The autos were cool, decent smoke and amazingly quick to finish, but all 4 of these girls literally are making my mouth water when I look at em. Don't know what the deal is - maybe I dropped the ball on the autos, maybe it's just placebo effect, or maybe these just have better genetics backing them, but these ladies right cchherre appear to smell and look even better than the previous run and they're not even half way through flowering. One thing that is kinda throwing me off tho is when I opened the tent today i got hit in the face by a burnt rubber / rotted meat odor. Almost gagged a little. Haven't figured out which one of these ladies is throwing that scent out there but that shit is pungent. Hopefully that's a good thing?

/rambling mode off

PS: I didn't make it to the 30 day mark yet w/ no cigs, but my girl cut me a break for sticking with it so I got into the stash tonight :bigjoint: I'm fucking bluunted. Pie eyed, dried mouth and wandering mind. Missed it ;) (https://www.rollitup.org/t/how-i-quit-smoking-cigarettes.853468/ for anyone that's confused)

Alright it's official...I've lost my shit. I'm going crazy...this was supposed to be a little side hobby in a little 32" x 32" tent n now Ive got 3 tents, just ordered another 600w ballast for the 4' x 8' tent, ordered a shit load of mediums and amendments to play around with and half my basement looks like the fucking tractor supply store...yep...I've lost it. Thanks guys!

Clones are looking good - some of them might end up in the flowering tent sooner than I anticipated when the other light gets here. I thought the cheap led panel would make them veg slower than this - it's definitely a little slower than the 600w mh but not quite as slow as I'd hoped. Was trying to keep these fairly small until the other run was wrapped up, but I'll be able to grab cuts off the clones soon n just move the current clones into the flowering tent. Prob go with less cuttings this time thru since the survival rate was 100% last time. This seems more efficient than starting from seed. Not quite to the point of perpetual harvest but it won't be hard to get there at this rate ...

I don't get what the deal is with this GG 1. It looks great besides the top of those 2 colas. They look like shit...making me want to cut them off lmao (dnt worry I won't xD)

GG 1.JPG

I still think they had some heat stress, in additional to the possible N overdose. The other cola that doesn't have that clawing going on was the shorter of the 3 in the smaller tent, which is why I'm still thinking that was caused by heat / excessive light. Whatcha think?

The poor CSS lol. It's doing alright, but the neglect of being buried in the back of the smaller tent and not being trained until just recently is definitely showing through. Won't be a huge yielder, but it's all good.
Critical Sensi Star.JPG

This tent is becoming kinda chaotic / jungle-ish. Prob could work on my training skills. Considering running a Scrog on one side of the tent in the future just to see what kinda results that provides. Maybe 3 x 4 screen on one side of the tent, based on Sat's experiment running a 600w on 4x4 and 3x4 with no difference in yield.

For some reason I missed the fact that SBA is supposed to have a 65ish day flowering period, so technically she's getting close to being halfway done according to breeders times, but ofc I'll leave her until she is really finished. It makes more sense now why her flowers are more developed than the others at this point, being a shorter flowering plant. CSS would probably be right there with her if it didn't get neglected in veg and early flower (it's advertised to have a 50-55 day flowering period). Still think the GG's are gonna run quite a while longer than the other 2.

Your very welcome, sir.
Lol I guess you guys warned me, but I didn't expect it to be so consuming. I literally have to TRY to think of different topics to talk to my girl about cuz she's getting sick of hearing about soil and biology.
Anything we can do to help feed the frenzy, just let us know ;)
Just watching your thread is enough lol. Whenever I see an empty space in the basement I think to myself - What Would GroErr do? Well shit, he'd throw more plants in there!

That SBA looks excellent, beautiful leaf shape and color :weed:
Thx man - it's definitely a winner in my book. Glad I grabbed a cut of it. I'm starting to think genetics is 90% of quality bud and the grower only makes up the other 10.

Started looking into the lineage of SBA and it's a cross of Black Domina x Super Silver Haze - never tried black domina but I've smoked SSH a couple times n that shit hits like a truck.
