I need some advise. First time growing organic using the GO line and im having problems with the ph. My water starts at 7.0 but then drops to 3.5 when I add the nutes. My plants are showing some problems and I can post the pics later. After I watered them with ph adjusted water to 5.8 my runoff was reading 4.5. I don't feel comfortable watering with the ph at 3.5. Any suggestions? Running Sunshine mix #4 with the GO nutes along with vit-b1.

What I do when using the GO line is mix 80/20 ro/tap water. My tap water has a ph of around 8, so after mixing my pH is around 5.5 and I don't adjust it further. GH recommends that you don't pH this line because it climbs naturally, but 3.5 is way too low. I'd try to at least bring it up to 5.5.

Glad I bumped into this thread. I have been working with a soiless mix for a year now (Promix&Perlite) along with FF. I've been wanting to move to an certified organic line though, so I can produce truly organic as a caregiver-- I also like the sustainability of vegan based nutes.

Have any folks here worked with the GO line and the Earth Juice line? I am curious how they compare. Thanks-- and +rep to Terrorizer for firing up this thread.

Did you read the thread? Not to be snarky, but the GO lineup is what this whole thread is about. I use it currently, but I get bored easily and like to try different stuff. I like it so far, they seem to be a little on the weak side, so I go full strength with most of the stuff. It does drop pH significantly, which they advise against adjusting. That can cause some people headaches if they're using water with very little alkalinity (not to be confused with pH level, rather, resistance to pH change), so it's good to add some tap water to the mix to give it a buffer.

Other than that, I like it, and the products' finished flavor is outstanding. I've yielded more using other lines, but I've only had one complete run using GO, my second one is looking much better. Hope that helps.

No snark taken. I should have underlined the 'and' as in "Have any folks worked with the GO line and the Earth Juice line." My interest is in comparing the two different products, which has not been discussed in the thread yet.

You indicate that you have run with other nutrient lines, but were any of them organic or organic/vegan?

Not as a whole lineup, no. The previous organic grows have all been with guano's, seaweed/kelp, castings and whatever organic supplements I felt like using at the time. I use EJ Microblast when needed, but that's it. Sorry I can't help with that one.

And really, I re-read my initial post, I should have rephrased the first sentence for sure. Not that it matters, but at the time I had just finished clicking a dozen or so threads on the same questions that I see on the board daily. I get a little crotchety sometimes, no offense intended.

It's all good. I think folks here on RIU are going through a bit of spring fever lately-- lots of people getting bent out of shape. Tolerance will lead to peace more than codes of behavior-- so it's ok to be cranky every once and a while. I know what you mean about the same questions over and over, too-- "Should I cut all the leaves off my plant?" is my personal favorite.

Thanks for the notes on your experience. Unless I hear otherwise, I assume the different organic/vegan lines perform similarly. I will certainly give either GO or EJ a try.

just got my GO box from the store. question, why are there holes drilled in the tops of the bottles? seems like a pretty dumb thing to do. i guess i can just slap some tape on top to seal it up, but wtf guys. other than that, excited to get using. Quick question about the ph issues i've read so far, shouldn't just adding some pulverized lime to the soil take care of the ph issues? I saw some one posted that they got a reading of 3.9 when all was said and mixed, is lime enough to buffer up from that low?

there is probably some biological process going on in there producing some kind of gas like co2 that needs venting, if they went through the trouble to drill holes it was most likely for a reason.

hey everyone, just wanted to pipe in and say that i have been using GO , grow, bloom, bio, and cal/mag, and i really like it. i use it with roots organic. i will stick with it until my bottles are empty, and maybe try something else, but it doesn't seem you can beat what you get for the price. the cola in my avatar was grown with it, and was spectacular.

Vents so they don't swell up and burst. Bio, man.

This shits amazing in my opinion, I start with ph 7 water, fill up jugs right out of the tap, add nutes prob 2 weeks after I transplant into 1 gallons for veg 1 week after transplant into flower, so they can use the nutes in my soil. Then I've been using everything on heavy strength. I feed 2 times then water to flush. Its been working wonders as of now.I never ph or adjust anything just mix and water. I'm growing in ocean forest mixed with light warrior. You can check my grow. I'm growing bagseed and its doing awesome pics this sat will be much better and larger than last sats post.

Some plants can't handle the "heavy" doses of Grow and Bloom, so its always a good idea to start low and work your up until you know the needs of the specific strain. I usually go full bore on the other products though with the exception of the Bio Root, which I back down to 1 tsp after about half way through flower.

yea might I add I do let my water sit out overnight, next time Ill try increments for feeding Ive fed heavy the entire time so I mustve just been lucky.

I am in the process of switching to the GO line I was curious about the PH claims as well and when i asked the guy at the local grow store he handed me this perilitish product from botanicare called hydrolite said it would keep the soil buffered ect... i went home and cant find any independent reviews or really anything but the brief blurb on the botanicare web-site. I was curious if anyone has used this and their opinions. I will of course welcome all feed back but I am more specificly looking for feedback from users of the GO line.

to Wolverine (cant use the quote thingy) the peeps at GH hotline say to bubble, but not with an airstone (bigger bubbles='s less foam apparently)

and to nitegazer it think it was re: earth juice Vs. GO to start I have never used either but I have a really good friend who uses Earth juice... the way I saw it (i could be wrong) earth Juice wants you to water daily and to bubble overnight to grow the benes . it seemed to be more involved and complicated but my buddy likes the hands on daily chores aspect of it and has sucess. I dont know if it helps but its what steered me from using the Earth juice line...

I think I am going to try the overnight bubble Ph balance technique with the GO to see how it works...I will post results somewhere on RIU when i figure out where. (new to here)

... also anyone who could help with some links about PH and soil I'm having a hard time figuring out how to make since of this ph buisness. its easy to understand the basics but when you start adding variables like ph buffers in soil/ nutes ect and add to that the dilemma of how to adjust w/out killing your benes the facts get scarce... I'm currently using the botanicare pro soil feed sch. and to adjust the ph throws all kinds of things outta solution also it takes a ridiculous amount of ph up to even get it to where i want so i think I am killing my microfauna in this process, so I figured I would switch to this other Line GO (besides its not all chemy) but In the process I realized how very little i knew about what seems like a huge thing and to avoid any future problems i would like to learn as much as I can about soil ph and nutes re: buffers and all that jazz ... (sorry this last bit is off topic but I appreaciate any help)

You only have to bubble it if you're going to be storing it for 24+ hours prior to use. I don't bubble mine at all, just mix and feed. I have zero pH issues, and I couldn't even tell you the last time I checked pH. I get great results with this method, as long as your microherd is strong, they will do all necessary buffering for you.

Cool... Thanks for the advice i am running to that direction (organics)) sounds like flavor country to me ^_^... I am gonna give up chemy bs for sure after this business... flushing sucks and seems like itd be really wasteful to keep doing several times a crop. And counter intuitive if useing soil it seems to me (now that i have a bit more info on the subj). But i do have to say/ask wolverine (and any others who use the GO line) what are your thoughts on subcools super soil recipie esp vs. Using this GO line?... I have to admit i am intrigued. Hopefully In sept/august i will have the space and time to run an GO lady, a Super soil lady, and for a control I will use the last bits of the botanicare nutes i have left and document the process for any interested... If ya dont mind me asking wolv what kinda soil ru useing (im useing roots organic) i ask this because i am wondering if you add some kind of buffer into your soil. Like lime ect... I use perilite...
Btw i found out that hydro lite stuff is kinda not widely known cause its Fully released yet i guess i kinda gumped my way into it the samples... horray for dumb luck...hope it works Ha! ^_^

I use what I would describe as a "watered down" super soil as my base, and supplement that with the GO line of nutrients. If I had to put a number on it, I'd say my mix is probably 1/3 strength of what Subcool uses. I'm trying to work my way towards not needing bottled nutrients, we'll see how it goes.
