Gavita 1930e vs gavita de

That's one of the reasons I am seriously considering the 1930e's, I don't want to be chasing the canopy height with the lights throughout the grow. At home I like to Scrog but for my grow rooms (not at home) I prefer Sog or big and bushy when I have the ceiling height (like to change it up every now and then).

Thank you very much!
I can’t see how you would be disappointed other than price. Lol.

I have no way of proving it but I feel these lights penetrate better than the other styles. I’m old school I guess but I’ve always heard to light the room not the plants and it’s always worked out well for me yield wise. The lens does a really good job spreading the light so you get nice overlap like with a de hps. Also like de hps it doesn’t really make much sense in a room with just a couple fixtures. There isn’t is a spot in my canopy that I think could use more light than what im putting down, and all I have to mess with is the dimmer not raising and lowering lights. I only made it to 92% this run cause plants were a bit taller than normal, mostly cause I vegged longer.

Where It's Made and What It Is – Lies, Damn Lies and Gavita
According to public documents filed by you, your product is made, tested and certified in China. A quick Google search of { Gavita “made in holland” } turns up stores, magazines and your own Instagram web pages claiming “100% Made In Holland”.
Every LED is made in China. There’s even a exact copy of the 1930e for half the price.

That link is talking about the ballasts being made in China. They aren't talking about LED. And I doubt they get their LED's from China. More than likely they're getting them from Vietnam or South Korea.

What a load of fucking crap …. Led can run 50,000 hours … no bulb changeouts or dim loss.
LED often are mid power devices that actually improve usable efficiency at mid level power.

I personally have and continue to use original HLG boards ( 561c ) for over 6 years.
Without failure of ANY diodes or strings.
If good led is too pricey for you , stick with the pizza oven bulbs.

HPS tech is dated by bulb design alone , and yes still does grow weed well . I still have an old induction lamp gathering dust.
Growers will evolve and use what light systems are the most efficient for their grow. HPS been there done that . Old magnetic ballast is now used like a kettle ball weight …. Blurple had its day … then got replaced by better tech ( old mono ) in diodes and power supplies.

No rip off … just save more recyclables and get one.

dang your lucky I guess...

"I know rookie right- well within 3 months 20% of the diodes had blown when I approached the company about repair replacement I was told I should upgrade "

I found this review in google cache form some austrialian site about the hlg 600...it wasn't seen on the actual site they proabably hide all the other negitive reviews lol
Your spelling is as great as your sock troll acct

leds are a serios rip off. they don't grow as good bud as hps and aren't as good at vegging as mh... and they die fast... you can't really replace all those leds on the boards so your screwed...

lets say it lasts 5 years...it cost 1000 freaking dollars...
you could by 10 hps for that...

you aren't saving any money by using led unless maybe you have a source of dc power like they have over in some places in europe... and you are using the leds direct from dc. then you will get an effeciency advantage beause it doesn't have to convert the ac to dc...

"High Pressure Sodium bulbs have a rated life of 24,000 hours..."
not sure about the de bulbs life span...something tells me not long

also they way they grow with them high up in warehouses a lot of the uv spectrum is lost down that low...
every foot from the grow light the uv light is dimished...
Where exactly do they have dc coming out of yhe wall in Europe.
And what leds have you tried against what hps?

I thought the same thing for years and still run hps in my other room. I can tell you without even chopping yet that is certainly not true. I have strains I’ve run for some time in here and with the exception of one strain all are performing better, frostier and heavier than before. I was very worried about quality at the start of this run and that is no longer a concern of mine.

As for the rest of your long post yes some of the led companies are putting out crap product that isn’t going to last. With so many companies popping up over night that is definitely going to happen.

Bulb changes for De bulbs is like every 8 months for me and it’s 100 dollars a bulb. I didn’t really do the math on it but when you start having multiple rooms with multiple lights in a residential sitting it’s hard to justify adding more and more mini splits, it’s also nice to free up some amps on the panel. Saving on electric isn’t really what I’m going for so I added more lights.

As far as people’s personal opinion on brands of lights or where they are built I could care less. All I care about is performance in my rooms and so far I’m very happy.

I’ll post some more pictures tonight or tomorrow before I chop.

If you have time could you post a link I’d consider trying them, if price was good. The price on these is slowly coming down, I think I can get for under 1k each now.

California Lightworks uses LEDs from Osram a German company. Osram has a facility in China as well as Malaysia and other countries.

are you trying to say you save power with the leds?
you don't save any power really...
energy is energy...

now the leds might seem to produce a brighter light to your eyes and be more effecient for things like a flash light but not for growing plants...

also they aren't going to be coooler.

heat=energy so what ever amount of light energy you give them is going to result in the same heat...
the only way you save on led is if you run them straight off dc...
like you know all that heat coming out of the electronic hps ballasts? most of that is because it's got to convert the ac to dc...
all that heat coming out is lost energy....
Calm down kingro

Stupid comment, how is a light putting out the same amount of ppfd with 200 less watts not saving on power.

This ain’t amateur hour over here nobody trying to tell how bright their light is with their eyes. I have a par meter. The reading under the leds are significantly higher.

also they aren't going to be coooler
Coming from someone who has never tried to cool a room full of double ended fixtures. I know math as well and if you try to do the 3.412 calculation for double ended lights have fun with your room sitting at 95 degrees or more.

also they aren't going to be coooler
Had to address this one twice since it was so stupid. If you switch out 10 de fixtures for 10 of the 1930 your saving 2200 watts and you have higher par readings. You also run the room warmer so it takes even less ac. The radiant heat is less from led as well so the canopy temp is easier to control.

From all your stupid replies and comments I’d have to guess that you have never grown in anything bigger than a tent or a closet. Which is all well and fine but to come on a forum with a bunch of guys actually running the equipment you don’t seem too familiar and try to give input, just makes you look stupid.

I have defended and love double ended hps for years, and still do. I waited until a light came out I thought could hit more or equal weight per sq ft with my growing style and rooms. I feel like it was a good choice.

I've heard from different people that HPS wash better for hash than LED's....like much better.... I have zero exp with LED's...Id really like to make the switch also... getting more positive vibes trending towards that direction overall....

There is a guy on Instagram that washes and did a side by side, DragonHouseterpz or something like that. He did cmh and de hps on different runs vs led. I can’t remember the exact results but on his new builds he was using leds and he washes it all. I’ll see if can find the results.

I’d have zero problem going with some knock off 1930e’s on a new grow if the price was right. I searched but didn’t find them.
I used to buy the fuck out of “knock off” Ccells from alibaba,

I guess his account has been deleted since the original post with the numbers.

Here is the only related post I can find after new account.
